I happened to be playing at the CCRB around 1987 (??) and Terry Mills and Rumeal Robinson were playing on center court. I forget why, but they couldn't play on the varsity that year so I guess they were getting some work in. Mills (6' 11") wouldn't go closer than 15 feet from the basket and worked on his ouside game. Robinson (6' 2" ish) wouldn't stray farther than 5 feet from the rim and worked only on posting up and inside moves. They were still both unstoppable (except for one game when I think they decided to guard each other)
I disagree. I think Harbaugh recognizes valuable coaches and understands their market value. I believe if Michigan had matched the NFL offer he would have backed off
I haven't watched this team this year until now. This team cannot shoot! They do not seem to be clicking at all yet they are only down 1 at the 4 min media timeout. They are not fun to watch like teams from the last several years. I hope they can scrape together a few more wins to make the tournament but no way they win more than one game in the tournament
I disagree and hope Ayo plays. It will be good experience and prep for the NCAA tournament. I hope this team gets pushed to the brink or even loses one game before the tournament so they get experience getting punched in the mouth
Based on the press release, it looks like they have the right intentions. I hope they introduce the actual trophy in an appropriate way. Right not I feel like the Jug and Paul Bunyan are things that you win, lose, and somehow "own". Hopefully this trophy will be different.
Raj. Love the Chem 125 reference. Only offered fridays 8am when I took it. But I took the classic freshman advice and asked the prettiest girl in class to be my lab partner. She said ”yes” which made sure I didn’t skip class. (Went on 2 dates then into the friend zone)
I live in The Netherlands and would definitely go if there was a group of M fans to hang out with. If anybody is serious about going let’s set up a way to plan it out outside this board
Go blue 80. Another way to say what you said is that OSU offense did a good job surprising UM defense. Why didn’t OSU defense do the same? Poster below nailed...offenses have the advantage
How much of this is Brando being truly terrible at his job and how much is ignorant white guy who cant be bothered to notice the difference between two black guys with the “same” hairstyle? Hopefully I have not overstepped into an inappropriate conversation for the board but the ignorance part was what jumped immediately to mind for me.
I don’t post often but this idea of leaving good plays in the garage pushes a hot button for me. Watching from afar is right. All good teams run their offense as it is meant to be. Against all teams. There may be some trick plays and wrinkles held in reserve but the core offense needs to be used every week. No coach in their right mind would ever have a team run some facsimile of the core offense to be tricky. Please, please put this idea of coaches holding back to bed.
How does this idea of coaches “holding back” stay alive? Maybe (maybe) there might be one or two special plays saved up for rivals, but when the entire second half of play calling is a disaster, it’s not holding back. It’s fucking up. They just made bad decisions. They did not have a winning game plan that they just ignored
My first thought was to agree that Frames is on his way out, but then I looked at his record. It rivals/exceeds JoePa and I don't think PSU has fired a coach in at least 50 years. Is there really evidence that Frames will be fired or is it just feelings?
One of those better places is Capetown. Rent a car or hire a driver and go to the actual cape. Stunning views and a penguin! Colony along the way. If you like wine go on a wine tour. As good if not better than Napa/Sonoma
He clearly wanted out. I don’t think he ever fully bought into the Beilein (and Yaklich) way. I was never his biggest fan but team wouldn’t have won 30 games without him. Best of luck!
Both teams were considered top 5 ish in the country going before losing to an arguably more talented team that was a matchup nightmare. All but a handful of other schools would love to have our level of success.
That game looked like an open gym (with super athletes). No discipline, no strategy, just go as fast as possible and chuck up a shot. Ugly, ugly basketball
Disagree about Poole. He is too undisciplined with the ball. He has 2-3 bad passes per game and often dribbles/drives without purpose. I’m fine with him taking a lot of shots, but they should be purposeful and within the offense. He’s also the best late shot clock option and that’s when he should be creative and less disciplined
Iknow Rashan was injured a lot, but I believe his development was far, far, less than it could/should have been. He was never coached to develop pass rush moves to take advantage of his athleticism and was consistently used to execute 'scheme' rather than to 'make plays'. I think a lot of this blame goes to Mattison as he did not know what to do with an elite athlete
Everyone's problem with "college football" is that Michigan is a second tier program under Harbaugh
This is exactly right. Michigan is typically the 10th-20th best team in the country every year and every 3-5 years the stars will align and they will have a shot at the CFP (either with 'luck' like Notre Dame this year or be a legitimate top 5 team with a recruiting/development/chemistry perfect storm)
Harbaugh noted that they got beat by better teams. That is true. Michigan players have not made enough plays to win big games for several years now. Best example of this: Florida ran up the middle on 3rd and long in the 2nd half and got a 53 yard touchdown. They made the blocks and broke a couple of tackles and took advantage of mistakes on the defense. In that same situation, Michigan gains 3 yards and this blog says their must be mass firings. At the end of the day, players gotta make plays. Without Bush, Gary, Higdon that was unlikely to happen
Second the comment on St. Bernardus 12. I used to live in Belgium and at the time, Westvleteren Abbey had a hotline that you could call to find out when the next batch was coming out. You used the hotline to enter a lottery and if selected you drove to the abbey to pick up a 2 case max purchase at cost (about a euro per bottle). Not sure if they still do it that way but that could be another crazy pilgrimage for you

Are European players an option with our Admission department?

Thanks!! onhockey.tv wasn't working well for me. This link works great!
Good point. I should hold my tongue til I see them play more

Big Chuck is pretty bad at picking up stunts, blitzes, and other shenanigans so hope he is not needed against MSU

Oops! fixed it
I don't think Mike Smith will be on any of the lists. He's having a great year, but I think he will just miss the cut.
What about Chris Webber?

Yes Bleachers!
Catfish and the Bottlemen. Saw them live just before Covid. Amazing show

Nur-Sultan
In a mall across the street from a big mosque. Near the Hilton garden Inn.
Yes!! Thanks!
Sorry. Not sure how to post this photo

Here is a common tool to check if a comment is appropriate
is it true? Yes in this case
is it kind? Not really
is it necessary. Not at all. So I say just keep quiet in this situation

That’s terrible. Makes you realize there is a lot more to life than sports rivalries

It was our hard fought and narrow win in the time of possession battle that was the key for me

Beilein does not seem to be a guy who would do something purely as a marketing stunt. I’m sure she is legit
Just accepted a new job in the Netherlands. Moving there end of July.

Talk about putting a defense in conflict....Watching that video didn’t know where the ball was half the time!
In Soviet Russia, quicksand falls into you

I always thought he had two seperate injuries. Ankle and something else that required surgery. Article seems to assume it’s only ankle

What wonderful photo from Marc-Gregor! Not sure everybody appreciates how much he adds to this blog
I’m in Charlotte too but don’t miss the cold at all. Like The Man I’ve been away from Michigan for 30 years so blood is thinned out
That schedule looks like 3-4 losses to me. That should be good for a one seed
Rashan didn't become what we would have liked

Will PSU score 50? I think nope
