I don’t think these changes are Helton’s idea, I would bet these decisions were made for him as a condition of saving his job for another year. Look for his replacement to show up on staff in some capacity
Well, this looks like a snap decision that was fueled by one or both of his parents. This is part of the problem with young people, especially those that were highly recruited and want everything right now. Don't understand what he thinks he has to gain, he will have 2 years left, going to a new program, he has virtually no OL experience. I suppose he could move back to DT at his next stop, but he still has to fight for a spot if he goes to a top school, or he could just to MSU, Dantonio would probably give him whatever he wants just to say he has a player that realized MSU was a better option than UM. Oh well onward we go, those that stay will be champions
My granddaughter has been accepted and will attend in the fall. She also visited and applied to MSU, my only question to her when i found out she was on her way to EL for the visit was WHY?
My son and I recently discussed this curent state of affairs at MSU, we both agreed we are very fortunate she got into UM so we didn't have her deciding between MSU and one of the other three other schools she applied to and was accepted.
Any chance JH goes the Partridge route and promotes either Bam Richarson or Devin Busch Sr. to this coaching position. I'm not sure what their background is as far as what positions they have coached.
Recent history, Don Brown & Pep Hamilton, shows JH will not only replace TW, but he will bring in an outstanding replacement that will equal or upgrade what we had in Wheat6. I, for one, am grateful that he came back to UM to help JH get this program back rolling in the right direction. He signed a 2 year deal, he fulfilled his obligation, and I'm sure he is leaving on good terms. That is evident, or JH would not have sent him to do an in home with Nico just a couple days ago.
Let's all thank Wheat6 for his contributions both as a player, coach and for helping deliver his son to UM as well.

I hope UM sends in every single play that was involved in either no penalty called against the suckeyes, or a penalty was called against UM that the same foul was let go against OSU. This should keep him busy for a week or so. Would like to see the feedback supplied to UM over this.
Maybe they should be told INTEGRITY is expected on both sides of the equation.
Loved watching him and listening to Ufer do the play by play. I actually played against Leach in a slow pitch softball tournament in Manchester, MI years ago... He was a crazy dude back in the day.

He then moves into an admin position as "recruiting coordinator" replacing Partridge, thus allowing JH to hire a top notch DC, promote Partridge to a coaching position and allowing G Mat to continue to be an important part of the program without the coaching stress & travel. He would be tremendous to have on staff to work with recruits and their parents when they were on campus for their multitude of visits be it official or un-official.

I was sitting in row 14 behind the UM bench that day, I said on several occassions prior to the shot that knocked Morris silly that he was hurt and should have been taken out. He had been limping noticably from the second quarter on.
I find it amazing that my son and I clearly seen Morris try to stand up and could not do so on his own, but nobody on the UM side lines could see it, we were located behind them and we were able to see it!!
Then when he was sent back in, I told my son, this is unbelieveable, Hoke has to be held accountable and he should be fired immediately after the game.
The interview did not surprise me, he never said anything other than they needed to coach better and the players needed to play better. Problem is he or his staff had any clue how to make that happen.

I met Tommy when he was living at Wampler's Lake in the Irish Hills. He spent alot of time hanging out at the Starling's Nest Bar on US12. I got to know him pretty well as we played some golf together and tipped quite a few cold ones over about a 2 year period. It was great to talk UM football with him.

I hope this is finally "put to bed". I truely believe this played out in UM favor. Weber has demonstrated since the beginning that he wanted to be "the center" of attention. He initially didn't give UM much consideration, he was leaning to MSU, he then changed directions and began to foster some interest in UM, ultimately pledging to the school. He then decommitted while sitting in the Big House during the Penn St game. He found it necessary to jump on the OSU bandwagon.
He then felt the need to let everyone know he was "solid" to OSU but would speak with JH to be nice. He wanted to make sure he appeared to "hold all the leverage". Well in the end it came back to haunt him. He then tried to make it look like JH and UM misled him.
I hope he goes to OSU and gets first hand experience how Urbz does things. If he isn't able to earn significant playing time, he will be forced out of the program early. The facts are there since OSU seems to have room for 25 plus recruits every year.
The 3* from Fla, Hidgon, will do very well in A2 and he didn't need to try to make himself the main attraction in the process.
Weber is now a Buckeye and he needs to be viewed like the rest of them!! They are all the "enemy" now.
You don't get to the top of the mountain like JH has done without knowing what you are doing. He is so perfect for this job, it's game on against the enemy now. I live in IL and have been driving back for every game since moving here 7 yrs ago. I'm glad I didn't give up the tickets for this year.

two players will not have the same number if they both are offensive or defensive players. There would always be the opportunity for them to be on the field at the same time given any number of situations.
Players wearing the same number are always playing on different sides of the ball, then it still has to be a concern when it comes to special teams play. They can not be on the field at the same time ever.
SF would retain his NFL rights since he still has a year left on his contract. Any NFL team would have to work a deal with SF to sign him. I don't think at this point JH would allow this train to travel this far down the track if he was going to "stiff" UM. Brian has been pretty conservative in his searchbits posts until today, he apparently knows something from some pretty good sources that made him post "It's Happening." I have been of the opinion that he would not end up coming for weeks now, I am beginning to believe something good is finally about to happen for the UM fans, alumni, players, students and entire Wolverine Nation.

I went expecting a UM win every week, never had to worry about the team being ready to play back in the day. Let me know how you think recruiting will go next year with a "lame duck" coach. We are losing most of our recruiting class this year, if we go into next year with Hoke and his band of "good ol boys" and the season is another disaster, how many top tier recruits do you think we get? I see this as a make a move this year, as I believe there are any number of coaches that could do better than this group or you almost are forced into giving Hoke an extension of at least a couple years in order to keep recruits willing to sign up to play for "big blue"
When recruiting high school stars one of the tools GMAT uses is all the film of the NFL players he has coached. He basically impresses upon them that this can be them one day if they come to Michigan and play on his defense. Now that this entire staff has laid an egg and the results suck, he is wanting to play the "graduation rate" card. Well last I knew, the coaches are not the ones doing the academic teaching or tutoring, they are supposed to be doing the football teaching and learning. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out which group is doing the better job. Brady and staff are paid like the top coaches in the country, they need to produce like the top coaches in the country. Period

According to my google search, he is only being paid $160,000 per year by OSU, maybe he is the only one that thinks he is the best ther is.
