College hockey lines?!?! Really? And Michigan at 20/1??? I only hope we're that competitive (and avoid Penn State in any and all tournaments)....

YES. This is precisely how I feel -- you just articulated it better.

Thanks for seeing past "fuckeyes". I 100% agree with your post here, too. They are BEYOND irritating. That's why beating them is more important to me than anything (this season, at least).

jesus. i get it. can't delete it now...just gotta take the lashings at this point. Why can't posts be deleted??

Yayyyy! my most downvoted post! :(
all for saying fuckeyes? I guess I've been schooled.
|1 week 4 days ago||Yeah, you're definitely an||
Yeah, you're definitely an out-of-state guy with that comment. Wow. I want to beat msu more than ANY team this year (and to be honest, that has pretty much always been the case). Losing to the fuckeyes is never, ever fun, but working and living near spartys pretty much all the gd time, it is always so much easier when those little shitheads have nothing on you. So for me ohio and sparty are 1a and 1b. ND is a distant second. Having said that, I still thoroughly despise them as well -- and would want nothing more than to get this win against them, especially since we probably won't see them again for a long time.

|6 weeks 3 days ago||YES. Definitely the Molly||
YES. Definitely the Molly McGannon game. I was in HS at the time, but I was there and it was fantastic. I remember it being so loud my ears hurt -- seriously. As far as football goes, I remember my first game in person, 1996 vs. Indiana. It was homecoming and we played very poorly and I remember sitting next to old, insufferable people talking about how boring the game was. I also remember the Illinois game from 1999 and how much that game pissed me the hell off. Lloyd for some reason liked to start putting his backups in while the other team was still in the game to some extent and it ended up biting us in the ass. We only lost 2 games that season too. I think most of the random memories I have of games that weren't great Michigan wins are losses that especially stung, such as the one I just mentioned. Oddly I remember Indiana in 2006 -- Herbstreit had called Stevie Breaston "worthless" earlier in the week and he ended up returning two kicks for TDs. Also, Michigan fans at the game (it was away) started chanting "Ball St.'s better!" as the Cardinals had just played us rather tightly the week prior.

Yeah I'll be in Europe. I haven't missed watching at least some of any Michigan game since 1994 (when I was very young and didn't give a shit)-- now's a good time to break the streak.

Cool man. Who are you rooting for, though? CR7 username and United avi.....lol.

This has absolutely nothing to do with Michigan's ranking...but come on. These rankings are a JOKE. BYU at #9??? Who has ever seen BYU on a "top schools" list. And I've never even heard of like a quarter of these schools.

Sarcastic tones are often lost on the interwebs...I'm just gonna go ahead and assume that's what happened here....

It is, unfortunately, true. CodeBlue was kind enough to point this out to me. We will be at Pioneer, most likely. Check the Facebook page (which I linked above) if you're interested in coming -- I'll post a screenshot of my GPS when we get there.

So when you sign up to be an AO member they send you a tee shirt....I had the exact same thought as soon as I saw it. It's ironic though as I assume soccer is probably not hugely popular in Harley-rider circles...lol

You should stop by! come talk to a few of us "soccer slappies" (as my co-worker calls me) and maybe we can build upon your World Cup fever. If nothing else, soccer fans are fantastic drunks and usually very nice people too!

|7 weeks 1 day ago||Haha...The number of people||
Haha...The number of people who have said that to us is quite hilarious, actually. I guess you could say that's half the reason we're doing it. The AO-Detroit chapter was in Livonia until very recently (they've since moved to Detroit proper) so it was a bit unnecessary to have two so close together (and against AO rules, as well). Now that they have moved so far away, we figured it was time.
|7 weeks 5 days ago||Unless they DO make changes,||
Unless they DO make changes, 22 is WAYYYYY too old to start your career as a soccer player. As the US continues to get better and gain more respect internationally (and even as MLS gets better), you will see fewer and fewer college players on future US World Cup rosters (other than maybe some goalkeepers who have much longer professional careers -- see Brad-I should have let the Make-a-Wish kid score-Friedel). College soccer's unlimited subs and countdown clock are things that absolutely need to be changed if they are to be taken seriously for professional players.

It probably felt like home because of that giant Michigan block "M" made out of rocks.
