|39 min 2 sec ago||All I can say is...||
Welcome to big-time football Jabrill.
|19 hours 22 min ago||Consider going to NW||
The campus and surrounding area is really nice, it's right on Lake Michigan, and you can see Chicago on the same trip. Also, the stadium is smaller so you're a little closer to the sidelines and field. The NW fans are also pretty laid back as you'd expect and don't abuse visiting fans like some other places in the B10.
|1 day 16 hours ago||39 actually but who's counting?||
We had a fun time on the Northwestern road trip last year (our first ever to NU) UNTIL the car trip home the next day. We waited too long to leave town and drove through horrendously heavy rain and winds all the way back to Ann Arbor. But the game itself was kind of incredible, especially with that crazy ending to regulation. I almost felt sorry for the NU fans in that game.
|2 days 16 hours ago||Very nice boat||
Great weather like you had this time of year makes living up north worth it despite having horrendous winters like last one. The Great Lakes region has a lot of spectacular places to boat which makes it fun.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Maybe that has something to do with it,||
but my feeling is his consistency has more to do with effort. He needs to stop taking a lot of plays off and be more active. He seems to have all the physical tools necessary to be a star player. That being said, I'd also love to see the other guys on the d-line stepping up too.
|2 weeks 6 days ago||Agree||
I'd much rather see a walk on at OU who's been busting his butt and staying on the right track get the scholarship.
|3 weeks 9 hours ago||nice post||
Short and pointless.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||What a danged shame||
I remember him as a player. He played on some really good defensive teams and was a starter for a few years. The article link above said he was a cornerback, but actually he played strong safety. But, it sounds like he was really making an impact in his jobs for the Y and coaching football. RIP Steve.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||It's a minor miracle we didn't give up a goal||
in the first half. Hopefully, we can get an early one somehow in the 2nd half and sit on the lead. Otherwise, a tie would be good also.
|4 weeks 13 hours ago||So true||
I thought that whole situation was dirty at the time and I still do. And we all know how everything turned out. Which makes me SO much prouder of our current basketball program than the one of that era.
|4 weeks 19 hours ago||That's actually an outstanding idea||
Give him a choice: A. Be suspended for two years, OR B. Still be able to play, but he needs to wear the Lectar mask for that time any time he's on the soccer field. Sounds equitable to me.
|4 weeks 20 hours ago||Exactly||
You expect behavior like this sometimes from toddlers. But a grown man? This guy needs some psychological counseling or something. It's just bizarre for an adult to deal with anger or being upset (as he claimed he was when he did it) by biting another person.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||You gotta love this coaching staff's||
aggressiveness in going after the best players - even ones commited elsewhere. In older times, coaches here would not have done that. But, times have changed and it's completely expected to keep recruiting kids until they've signed an LOI.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||Dude (Suarez) needs distemper shots||
or something. Looked pretty deliberate to me. This is the kind of things you expect dogs to do - not people.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||Yeah, I'd definitely take Iman Marshall||
as an acceptable replacement for Crawford in this class. If we get him on campus, who knows?
|4 weeks 2 days ago||Or maybe the John Robinson days||
As I recall, Bo seemed to have a good relationship with Coach Robinson.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||Yup||
As much as I'm hoping Funchess is that fast, there's no way in hell he beats Peppers in a sprint.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||I'm really excited about this group||
Maybe not as ballyhooed (hyped) as the 2012 group, but still A LOT of potential. I see most of these guys staying at least 3 years too. But, if Beilein and staff do their usual job of player development, there could be an earlier exit to the NBA or two. Nice problem to have if it does occur.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||Dwight Hicks also wore #17||
He was Ivan's older brother I believe. Dwight had a stellar career at Michigan and was a team captain in 1977, playing safety. He initially played for Toronto in the CFL, but joined the 49'ers the next year. He became the leader of a secondary that included Ronnie Lott, Eric Wright, and John Williamson, and went to 4 Pro Bowls. Interestingly, Hicks became an actor after football and was in The Rock among other movies.
|4 weeks 5 days ago||I like Peppers more for kick offs than punts||
He should be our biggest threat on KO's since Stonum - probably a bigger one too. With his incredible straight line speed, all he'll need is an open gap. Norfleet has done an OK job, but he can be caught, plus he isn't very big. Peppers will be able to break tackles a lot more. Can't wait to see him in action.
|4 weeks 6 days ago||Great pickup for Michigan||
I see Clark coming in and making a Jake Butt-esqe impact his freshman year. With those two guys at TE, plus Williams, Hill, and Bunting, we should be in superb shape for a number of years.
|4 weeks 6 days ago||Now if we can just get||
Prince Ali too.
|5 weeks 15 hours ago||Got that album as a prize||
at my H.S. graduation party in 1977. Still have it in my collection.
|5 weeks 23 hours ago||Peppers is as hyped up a recruit coming in||
as I've seen in the last 35 years. But it's justified IMO. He's really an amazing athlete who seemingly has all the intangibles you want to see also. Physically, he's ready to compete now, which is rare by itself. Obviously he will still need to learn the coverage skills to be able to compete against much better athletes. But, that will come. Very exciting.
|5 weeks 1 day ago||I agree||
If he were not pitching that day, fine. But on a day where he's supposed to be starting, I'd think he should be elsewhere - at least where there are no distractions like a huge mall. I'm beginning to think his main problem is related to focus and concentration on and off the field - not some problem with his arm or shoulder. Just my opinion, nothing else.
|5 weeks 2 days ago||Definitely a class act,||
And a very cool story BTW - thanks for posting that. I lived out in San Diego for a while in the 80's and he was THE big Padres star. I saw him play on occasion. But, my impression of him based on seeing interviews and reading articles in the paper from that time was he was a person of real class. Sad to see him gone. RIP Tony!
|5 weeks 6 days ago||Physically, this young man is unreal, and||
ready for B10 football now. Obviously, he will need to learn the techniques to be a top player at the college level. But, Michigan simply needs to get him on the field early. Like maize-blue said, we need an edge and a player like Peppers can give a team just that. REALLY excited to see him on the field this fall.
|5 weeks 6 days ago||I was wondering how many posts it would be before||
someone put up a Mummy picture. Imhotep is one of the more unusual school names I've ever heard.
|6 weeks 12 hours ago||Exactly||
Michigan assistant coaches should be putting this list in front of every recruit. The recruits can decide for themselves the voracity of ESPN as a rating service, but it can't hurt at all I'd say.
|6 weeks 18 hours ago||Welcome to Michigan Mr. Newsome!||
I love his humility, class, and interest in academics. Civil War History sounds like such a cool major! It seems like Michigan has really been building up some momentum in recruiting New Jersey, which is a very good thing. Getting Jabrill probably helped out a lot.
