I was curious about Justin Pippen, so....

https://247sports.com/Player/justin-pippen-46144706/

No. 139 player on the 247 Composite.  Definitely a player Beilein could possibly turn into a draft pick.  Maybe May can do the same magic if Pippen commits.

Yeah, he's gone from 70% to …

Yeah, he's gone from 70% to "so you're saying there's a chance".

And don't forget it's ok for…

And don't forget it's ok for the NCAA to publicly comment on cases where they haven't even made formal charges against the school, while prohibiting the accused institution from making any comments. The definition of hypocricy.

Almost completely new…

Almost completely new coaching staff after a drawn out hiring of JH away from Michigan- what do you expect?

Nothing good ever happens at…

Nothing good ever happens at 3:05 a.m. except sleep.

Cool hair.

Cool hair.

Heck yes, for the name alone…

Heck yes, for the name alone.  Plus we need lots of bodies.

And so do I.  Warde made the…

And so do I.  Warde made the right choice, no doubt.  Calipari has accomplished very little the last 5 years relative to the talent level of players he's had.  His best days are definitely behind him.

What chocks my guff is $5.50…

What chocks my guff is $5.50 bottles of water and shitty cell phone service at the Big House year after year.

"We wish Hayden the best…

"We wish Hayden the best looking for his next football home."

Uncharacteristically classy for Buckeyes.

Bingo.  We can still have a…

Bingo.  We can still have a good season with our current roster at QB.  Not just for the offensive options you mentioned, but because we have a great defense, and we have a lot of experienced guys coming back on the OL.  Also, our chances of finding a hotshot QB in the transfer portal AFTER spring practice and that guy being able to learn our offense and get comfortable with the offensive players by September are slim and none.

I'm really looking forward…

I'm really looking forward to seeing Mr. Hall in the spring game.  He looked darned good last year.  If he can be anything like Hassan Haskins or Blake, Michigan's running game is going to be in great shape for the next few years.

Gotta root for the Big Ten. …

Gotta root for the Big Ten.  Purdue isn't playing that well, but they're ahead.  Edey is getting mauled and he isn't used to that without fouls being called.

Maybe it would be easier at…

Maybe it would be easier at this point to just post who's not in the portal from FAU. Just sayin.

As crazy as that sounds, you…

As crazy as that sounds, you're probably right.  Looking at it there's no other plausible explanation.

One of my biggest regrets as…

One of my biggest regrets as a fan was not going to one of the 1984 games in San Diego where we were living then.  I was 3 years out of Michigan, newly married, and trying to be responsible about money.  BUT.....

Agree completely.  And FFS,…

Agree completely.  And FFS, start throwing him the ball a lot more like we did two years ago.

I hear 'ya.  But, if we can…

I hear 'ya.  But, if we can develop a speed in space passing attack this year with our slot guys, RB's catching the ball, and Loveland, we can still do pretty well.  We're not going to score like we did last year.  With our D though, we'll be in most games we play.  That's probably the most realistic option until we have a fully ready Jaydn Davis and some more WR dudes.

It's very hard to say.  We…

It's very hard to say.  We haven't really seen Orji run the offense as a true starter with the first team offense.  IF he can complete some passes, combined with our running game, he may be a lot more effective when he runs.  This last season, everyone knew what he was going to do every time he came in.

I'm also skeptical we can find a transfer at this late date who'll be able to learn the offense and mesh with our current players by the opening game.

Never gets old.

Never gets old.

Ah, nothing like a rational,…

Ah, nothing like a rational, non-emotional, and insightful post to kick off the discussion.

Yup, and I'm sure much of…

Yup, and I'm sure much of their fanbase was all up in arms about Michigan's sign stealing, accusing us of cheating, etc. etc.  But, when they do it, dead silence.

Yeah, I was thinking the…

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.  Fortunately, most people have forgotten about him.  But not those who were students during his reign of terror in the Ann Arbor area.  Fortunately, I came in to U-M after that period.

EDIT:  I didn't realize Collins (now going by the last name Chapman) is unfortunately, still alive in a correctional facility in Jackson, MI.

No thanks, unless we can't…

No thanks, unless we can't sign enough other players to fill the roster.  OR, they check out his back issues to see if they're healed and he's 100%.  But I have my doubts about that, since we know bad backs don't go away very easily.

Yup.  Now the best part of…

Yup.  Now the best part of the early signing period.

I know I'll never forget…

I know I'll never forget that play.  I was standing in that end zone section of the Rose Bowl and it was right below us.  That, and the 4th down defensive stand to win it were unforgettable.

Yes, during Beilein's tenure…

Yes, during Beilein's tenure, notice how we had no ugly off-court or on-court incidents at all.  At least that I remember.  You were always proud of the way they conducted themselves, win or lose.

Exactly.  There was a reason…

Exactly.  There was a reason the Alabama fans couldn't wait to see him head out the door.

I thought he was brilliant…

I thought he was brilliant in this role.

"I'm not saying we wouldn't get our hair mussed, but no more than 10 to 20 million civilian casualties, tops!"

I also remember Bo…

I also remember Bo complaining in the days after the game about what he believed was clear steroid use by the ASU team that season.  That was also the time when Tony Mandarich played at MSU and was widely believed  (at least by Michigan fans) to be on roids.  Turned out to be true.

Not sure that's a wise…

Not sure that's a wise viewpoint, given the massive rebuilding coming with an all new coaching staff.  We need bodies.

Agreed.  That's why it's…

Agreed.  That's why it's important to not judge people absolutely based on a couple incidents, without considering their other positive contributions.  Juwan has always loved Michigan and his sratement shows that.  He didn't work out as head coach, so be it.  Michigan and he can part on good terms and go their separate ways.

Amazing moment.  I had…

Amazing moment.  I had written this game off as a loss in that final 30 seconds.  But the Houston guy missing those two FT's opened the door.  And Poole was definitely fouled on the shot to boot.

"Luck of the Irish?  Two…

"Luck of the Irish?  Two words: potato famine!"

This is the biggest hunk of BS that JUB has ever spewed out.  It's not even worthy of further comment.

This is too ridiculous to even comment on.

64 years old?  I have to assume you're joking.

No thanks.

No thanks.

My vote too.

My vote too.

I don't think that would be…

I don't think that would be enough.  The far bigger problem is the repeated lack of effort and disorganized game strategy due to poor coaching.

And so the off-season of…

And so the off-season of basketball BPONE begins.

Michigan can't bring Howard back and then claim "we're the leaders and best".  It would send the complete opposite message to the alumni, fans, and sports world.

To emphasize your last point…

To emphasize your last point, the "nothing to see here" strategy is fine as long as Howard is fired at the end of the season.  If he isn't, which is highly possible, then the Sanderson episode will live on as an ugly blemish on the program.

Not a surprise given the…

Not a surprise given the ongoing clown show we've seen from this group over the years.  We have a neighbor who is an MSU faculty member and even she said how poor the MSU B.O.T. is.  It's hard to understand how incompetence can be institutionalized at that level, given how long it's gone on and how members have to be elected.  But then again, look who we're talking about.

This crapola makes my…

This crapola makes my section of an original bench from Michigan Stadium look really valuable.  Can't say how I got it.  But you can pry up the fiberglass shell they put on it in the 60's and see the original redwood bench under it with the seat numbers stenciled on.

I'm happy to hear you're…

I'm happy to hear you're cancer free, but thank you for sharing the other side of it.  Many prayers for your continued health.

Great decision.  I've had…

Great decision.  I've had two of them.  Nothing to worry about.  Get 'er done!

Geez.  This is so sad.  It's…

Geez.  This is so sad.  It's very hard to see such a wonderful young person like Craig pass away so young.  I just turned 65 and things like this make me feel so blessed to still be around.  Still, he leaves behind a 2 year old which makes me want to cry.  As Billy Joel sang, Only the Good Die Young.  It seems the truth here.  RIP Craig.  Enjoy Michigan's Valhalla.

You have to give them credit…

You have to give them credit though, where credit is due.  Unlike our Athletic Department, they know how to manipulate the NCAA  and Big Ten as well as timing of when to release information.  OTOH, our AD seems to always be in damage control.  Why is that?
