When I graduated high school my graduation present from my parents was a weekend in Ann Arbor. We went for fan day, which meant standing in line for hours to get autographs signed by the players. Anyway the line for special teams wasn't terrible but was still decently long, but the coaches rounded up the players just as I was getting to the end of the line... i missed out on all the signature except for his. He stayed until the coaches were really yelling at him just to make sure we didn't get in line for nothing. Of all the autographs I have from that day (including Brandon Graham) his was always my favorite because of that.
tl;dr - Mesko got yelled at by his coaches because he wanted to sign peoples autographs when they'd been standing in line for close to 45minutes.

4062 rushing yards is damned impressive regardless of where you play

|32 weeks 20 hours ago||My list||
1. Michigan St.
2. Every SEC team (except Missouri)
3. Notre Dame
6. Ohio St. - I don't like to watch them play, period so it's kindof hard to watch them and root against them. When they play sparty I root for both teams to lose

they hired him in spite of all that, and then found him to be intolerable and are using that as a convenient excuse to let him go.
or maybe the real reason is something more, dark... sinister... scandalous? I seem to recall something like that being attached to his name

Pretty creative... that being said, obligatory satire:

You know, that was my first thought when this whole thing came out. I think he was just trying to add fuel to the "Te'o for Heisman" flames...
Certainly helped, you can't definitively say he wouldn't have finished second otherwise, but likewise you can't immediately dismiss the possibility that he might have ridden this story to New York either.

supposedly she wanted him to play for her rather than attend her funeral, which I think I read was closed casket.

People began fund raisers to raise money for cancer awareness, but that didn't go to Manti, that went to research centers.
"Dan Tudesco set up an online account at fundraising website indiegogo.com on Jan. 9. His goal was to raise $5,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in memory of Lennay Kekua... He says the more than $4,300 raised will still go to the leukemia group." (ABCNews)
"Tudesco said he and three friends got the fundraising idea after seeing a video that went viral of Tudesco holding his head in dismay during the Irish's 42-14 loss to Alabama in the national championship game on Jan. 7.
The goal was to turn the loss -- and the player's sudden popularity -- into something positive.
'I think we were all kind of disappointed in the result of the game ... and the Manti story was very inspirational,' Tudesco told The Associated Press on Thursday....Tudesco said he doesn't know Te'o personally and had no contact with him or Notre Dame before setting up the fundraiser. He said money raised by his fundraiser will be held in reserve by indiegogo and released directly to the charity at the end of the campaign." (ESPN)

I like the spiciness and kick you get from enemy chicken, but it just doesn't agree with me, ya know.

so if this trend continues is the Big East going to have to surrender it's status as a BCS conference in order to let a stronger conference in... like the MAC

The Big East picks up Boise State, SDSU, Houston, and SMU... and you've got a problem with Louisville going to the ACC because it's not near the coast?

I voted "Yes", because I like the idea of expanding past 12 teams, and while these aren't exactly the two I would choose, it is a step towards ones I would like... although I like the prospect of adding Rutgers much more than Maryland, especially since that means that Edsall would be a B1G coach... eugh!
