Row the dang boat
|3 days 5 hours ago||How much does he put into the dolphins?||
It's not like owning an NFL team is cheap
|3 days 6 hours ago||Too smart for his own good?||
Christ you sound like Skip Bayless with that
|5 days 15 hours ago||Don't diss Wet Herrera||
The greatest coach in the history of organized sports
|5 days 15 hours ago||They are 20 million over the cap next year||
So they take this team, which is already relatively old and not that good, and dump 20 million in salary, plus either the money to pay their picks or the picks themselves in the draft.
They are going to win maybe 7 games then have to flat out cut starters this off season. They are a tire fire
|5 days 20 hours ago||I can see it now||
"Jim, before I take this job, there's one thing I absolutely have to do. I'm gonna need your plane, I'm going to need the entirety of my contract, in full, in non sequential peso's, 20 pounds of rotel and velveeta, and one of those bomb suits. Yeah, like from the hurt locker"
|5 days 20 hours ago||He's a GIANT improvement defensively||
going from the worst OF in the game to Cespedes is a huge upgrade, and he's at least as good offensively as Hunter
|5 days 20 hours ago||That might be bullshit||
He's not coming to Michigan, but New Orleans is going to be a trainwreck next year, and he's just watching it slowly crash. It wouldn't absolutely shock me if he took another NFL job because he doesnt' want to be stuck in rebuild mode
|5 days 21 hours ago||Yes||
It was 3. You can get Simon's production off the damn scrap heap, you don't need to be trading players for it.
|5 days 21 hours ago||He's hot ass garbage||
He was incredibly lucky over the first half of last year, he's much more the guy who had a 4.5 era in the second half of the year. That is hot ass garbage in the NL.
|6 days 7 hours ago||Was Harbaugh at Stanford for 11 years?||
Or are you just gonna ignore that part of it?
|1 week 1 day ago||You could make it about the product too||
They have been extra terrible lately. The fact that they even published the Dr. Football bullshit shows where they are
|1 week 1 day ago||Much like the 49'ers O-line||
I failed to properly execute, and have double posted.
|1 week 1 day ago||O-line regression is probably the biggest culprit||
They went from being probably the best unit in football to not very good at all in a year. Without that killer run game defenses have been able to key in on Kaepernick, and though he's a very good QB, he's not in the class of guys who can beat you even if you gameplan entirely around stopping them.
|1 week 1 day ago||To steal a line from PFT_Commenter||
this is about teling not speling smh
|1 week 2 days ago||Sorry||
But local papers aren't going to stop covering a coaching search at a Michigan out of common courtesy.
|1 week 3 days ago||I follow him on Twitter||
It's absolutely fascinating. He's not dumb, he's fairly well versed in like, the space program, he's relatively religious, he has a warped up in depth knowledge of history.
Like, one second he's saying how ridiculous it is that someone thinks we faked the moon landing, and his next tweet is about how aliens built the pyramids.
|2 weeks 14 hours ago||Stephen Ross doesn't either||
I'll be he's got some say though. Just because you don't have a job title doesn't mean you have zero influence on the decisions made by the university, and there are ways to buy that influence other than cash.
|2 weeks 14 hours ago||I was at the Oregon game||
It wasn't all sunshine and fucking rainbows
|2 weeks 14 hours ago||He's not Hoke||
He's Ferentz. If you gave Ferentz what Harbaugh left Shaw, I'm convinced the exact same thing would have happened. Terrible game manager, archaic offense. It works if you can absolutely destroy up front, which Ferentz has been able to do every 3 or 4 years when he develops a full O-line together, and Shaw had when he was left with what remained of the Harbaugh O-lineman, but it's not a great strategy.
Shaw isn't a bad coach, and he could probably get Michigan to be what Nebraska was under Pelini due to the slight recruiting advantage he would have over Ferentz, but I'm not thrilled about hiring a guy who probably has a ceiling of what just got Nebraska's coach fired.
|2 weeks 14 hours ago||The lid won't be as tight||
It just can't be, there are too many moving parts in a coaching search. No one outside of Schembechler hall and the search firm Hackett has been talking to needed to know about this news, and even then he could have kept his forays into looking for a coach vague enough that no one would come forward as a strong source.
This is different though, you're going to have to have much more direct conversations with interested parties, and those parties are well outside of Hackett's control at the moment. Harbaugh, Miles, Mullen, every candidate he talks to that would seriously consider the job is going to tell someone. Whether that be Harbaugh or Miles talking it over with family/friends to try to come to a decision or Mullen going to his AD to see if he can't get a contract to match what Michigan is willing to pony up, there will be loose ends that can't be tied off.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||The results are in!||
And it looks like the Michigan faithful have elected.... The muppets..... The muppets are going to coach Michigan....
Animal would be a hell of a recruiting coordinator. He's basically a slightly more hairy Coach O.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Schiano is literally last on my list||
Like, I'm reaching out to Howard Schnellenberger before Schiano.
He might be ahead of O'Neal, actually.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||What was that old nickname for the big ten?||
Big 2, little 8? Remember that?
Take out the stuff before forward passing was invented and Nebraska is on even footing with Michigan.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Stop it with your filthy facts||
Those are only allowed when they confirm our beliefs in old school man football! Defense! Run the ball!
Also would love to point out that was facing a conference that might not have a single offense as bad as half of the big ten
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Hes constantly putting up crazy offensive numbers||
I mean maybe he is a one side of the ball guy, but he's more than one play. The dude knows offense and is well respected in the coaching community. Just because he's not a great candidate for Michigan right now doesn't make him "lol basically a high school coach with one play"
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Not even close||
I mean, big bang theory pulls like a 4.5, walking dead is damn near 9. Talking dead might out draw BBT by now.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||They've been pretty close||
Since Gimple took over. The Hospital was a complete departure this year, and they obviously aren't doing a shot for shot remake, but they hit on a lot of the big moments. The scene tonight with Rick by the parking garage was straight out of how he dealt with the cannibals in the comics.
If you are interested in that stuff, Gimple did a great episode of Girl on Guy recently where he talked about how he translates the comic to a show and working on it as a fan of the comics. It's very, very VERY spoiler heavy though, including a gigantic comic spoiler the show has not gotten to yet.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||He will be the head of Alexandria||
Who's name escapes me. But yeah, charismatic nice guy in WAAAAY over his head? That's Brady
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Still depends entirely on him||
He was never going to get fired, he's too valuable a commodity and Baalke isn't going to just kick him to the curb for nothing. They can't trade him until well after the super bowl, well after the coaching search will be resolved, and he was going to have to use whatever buyout clause he has in his contract anyway.
The trade rumors change nothing. If anything that fact that the rumored destinations would have him working under Reggie McKenzie or John Idzik make it less likely he stays in the pros.
