Excellent recap of the event and damn sad I missed it. Being that I am a board member of the UMCGC I am very pleased to see this event was well received. For any of you who were there please feel free to provide any feedback.

Since I opted not to jump in the longer lines I joined a few friends at the Fred Jackson table... and that by itself was worth the price of admission. He obviously was not able to discuss who he liked best from certain positions, but his comments on
To Jake Ryan:
were all quite refreshing, off the cuff, and pretty funny at times. It was definitely a great event.

It is definitely worth it, as food is included in the price and there aren't many opportunities to hear the coaches speak off the cuff. Even if you aren't an alumni you are still surrounded by Michigan fans.

I think they should get rid of it. I like a lot of the RR mantra but never really felt that saying deserved to be up on the tunnel IMO.
|3 years 24 weeks ago||right on||
|3 years 27 weeks ago||I agree, I was there||
I agree, I was there and I don't think anyone took that as a jab towards RR. Hoke was merely talking about his own defense...
As for Red, his comment "At a place like Michigan you better get use to big disappointment" was in regards to Michigan hockey always playing in big games on the national level. He stressed that they will not always win ALL those games but they will continually be in that position. So there was no recovery in his statement and I am glad he said it.
Also, there were officially 540+ people in attendance. It was a loud and fun group.

|3 years 34 weeks ago||Kriks||
While Kriks Arman might be serving a lifetime ban for IM sports due to his player conduct on the 2003 SAE IM hockey team, it was actually his younger brother Varj that was using his ID. I was on that team and yes things got a little rough on the ice.
Kriks has always been known as the more mild mannered Arman, so I am sure whatever opinions you have of him are a case if mistaken identity.

Yeah, just a great penalty to take...
|4 years 5 weeks ago||Next Year?||
I don't have any insider info, but I would assume that they debut the jerseys next year. It makes more sense from a marketing standpoint, especially if we are going to be getting a new away jersey which I hope we do.
|4 years 8 weeks ago||Yes||
I could not have said it any better myself.
|4 years 9 weeks ago||New M Jersey?||
I'm not sure if it was oversight here, but it looks like Michigan will be wearing a new type of jersey some point soon. I know they NFL was testing these jerseys out on some of the skill position players (Indy and Green Bay come to mind) and I think the home Michigan jersey will look sharp. Although I am not quite sure what they are going to do with the away jersey since it doesn't look like there will be room for the "horns" on the side. Either way, I welcome the new uniforms.

Luckily for Saban, there's no Michigan in Alabama
|4 years 17 weeks ago||not creepy...||
Video taping for personal use and to show on poker night... nothing creepy about that.
|4 years 17 weeks ago||Meh||
If Umich and osu are forced to be in seperate (I still don't like it) divisions then I don't mind these pairings. I'm not sure if switching wisco for iowa would make a huge difference overall. Either one of them was going to get screwed anyways.
|4 years 17 weeks ago||Thanks for the clarification||
on Tate. I was at the scrimmage on Saturday and completely disagree with recent diary post written by pullin4blue in regards to the QBs. Even though he ran with the 3's at the start, he did not over throw any recievers but instead threw it out of bounds to avoid a INT (i was in the corner where it happened so I saw the play develop).
Tate still has the best arm and was the best passer of the group, but shoelace has the wheels so who knows at this point.

I think he might be coming in as a D-line prospect since he lost a few lbs, but good news regardless
|4 years 41 weeks ago||Finally||
A solid, well written article, mostly touching on the pros and cons of Detroiters living in Chicago. The guilt is there, sure, but bringing in familiar spots such as Leo's helps. Now we just need to get Pizza House over here...
|4 years 42 weeks ago||Steve the wise||
Knowing Steve Yzerman he does not let success get to his head and he knows he's on track to be GM for one of the top franchises in all sports. There's no need for him to gain experience as a head GM somewhere else because he is learning on the job in Detroit. Like Wesq said, putting together Team Canada and a pro team are two very different things.
But this is a very interesting question I haven't though of. Thanks.
|4 years 45 weeks ago||Predictable.||
Not on anything other than being realistic. But... Tom has had a rock star career but dont try to degrade Peyton for no reason, thats like picking apart Drew Brees cause he boilers up....

It was Gibson's and OSU (Tressel) several were in the mix that night at the same spot.
|4 years 45 weeks ago||AK and Flee||
I know AK and Flee used to hop some river down by Lowell, just east of Forest Hills. I remember seeing that on some interview, they would jump of the rail tracks.

is just kicking it.
