I get it, no one thinks we…

I get it, no one thinks we have a shot. It cannot be overstated here that OSU's offense is pretty damn good. Ryan Day is a mastermind when it comes to play calling...I'll give him that much, and that's about it. Here's the catch...Stroud hasn't played against our defense and hasn't seen David Ojabo and Aidan Hutchinson yet. Neither has OSU's defense (since the Oregon game) seen a RB like Hassan Haskins that can break arm tackles and get multiple yards after contact. I am filled with hope. Hope that on Saturday when the game clock reads zeroes that we can be happy, happy with the fact that the team we love the most, finally did it. Finally we can hold our heads high and say without a doubt that we beat Ohio State and the Michigan football team is the best team in the Big Ten bar none. Then we go to the Conference Championship and beat the brakes off of Wisconsin or Iowa and then move on to the CFP. Have hope, anything is possible boys...anything.

My top 6: 1. Georgia 2. Alabama 3. Ohio State 4. Oklahoma 5. Cincinnati 6. MSU

The Committee: 1. Georgia 2. Oklahoma 3. Alabama 4. MSU 5. Cincinnati 6. Ohio State

I think the committee will value the win against Michigan for Staee, and I think they give Cincy no love regardless of who they've beaten because they're still in a non-power 5 conference. Yes I think that Alabama is number 2 because even though they lost to A&M they probably won't lose again until the SEC title game, which they very well could win.

I'm no offensive expert, but…

I'm no offensive expert, but I think simply throwing the ball on 1st and 2nd down a little more often would benefit the offense greatly, see Ron Utah's diary for reference use. It's awesome to have the running game be the way it is, but it becomes way more dangerous when you don't know when it's coming, I think that's what makes some offenses like Alabama and Clemson so much more capable of getting big plays. Well, that and their QB's being let off the leash a little more than ours. Shea is accurate, let him throw it around, just my opinion.

Yes, let's play them...again…

Yes, let's play them...again.

During the 2012 Iowa game,…

During the 2012 Iowa game, my wife and I were sitting at a BWW's in Columbia, SC watching the game enjoying a brew. I had on my Michigan attire of course and was cheering vehemently when Denard ran the ball across the field and then some to gain about 15 yards. I thought it was a good showcase of just how talented he really was. Little did I know the three Ohio State fans behind me were mocking my wife and I. Long story short, they began to not only insult the team, but then my wife and I. It got a little ugly, and a police officer got brought out to remove them as they were being drunk and ignorant. Before then, I only disliked their fans, after that, I've grown to understand just how asinine they really are, and loathe them. F!@# Ohio State, I hope we crush their souls this weekend!

LOLZ Iowa crowd chanting

LOLZ Iowa crowd chanting OVERRATED!!!

Does anyone have a link to

Does anyone have a link to the game, stationed overseas and first row isnt showing a link...please help!

Why is our defense playing

Why is our defense playing like absolute garbage? And why did we completely abandon running the ball? Oh I know, coach stuff....not player stuff, coach stuff!

Against Air Force

DPJ was hit on a crossing route during the mesh play as you described above in the writeup. (View parkinggods video at about 7:00) Gentry and McKeon were crossing from right to left and it was a well exectued play for about 9 yards. My question is with the speed of DPJ and McDoom, other than experience being an issue, would a lesser version of this work where instead of you using all TE's, you use  two TE's and a speedy slot guy like DPJ or McDoom? I could see those plays going for big gains if they can get beyond the safeties and not to close to the sideline when the catch is made.  Good write-up and tia.

Player Support

has been questioned an awful lot during the Morrisgate situation. It's saddening to hear that former players and alum think we as a fanbase are searching or reaching for a reason to see to it that Hoke or Brandon are fired due to this incident. Not to say that this hasn't amplified our reasoning by any means, but since when did anyone honestly think (including former players and alum) that our main purpose, goal and reasoning for being so outraged is anything short of because we love the team/players? I understand the line of thinking that this is the last straw for fans because of our record in this and the previous two seasons. I also understand the mindset that people believe our attitudes are simply "WIN! and WIN now!" But in light of this situation and the failing of the CEO type athletic director how can people expect us to "remain calm?" What am I supposed to do when Shane Morris, our starting QB (of that game) gets his head hammered by the opposing team and our coaches and staff A. dont take him out and then when he is B. put him back in? Forgive my sarcasm and obvious frustration but being in the military pretty much everything we do job wise is in black and white. There is something in writing telling us how to do everything save taking a dump. The NCAA and Big Ten have clear cut rules and regulations that are to be followed. The fact that DB and Hoke weren't on the same page as far as what these are and their response to this situation screams "cover up." So I'm sorry to all those who believe that we as a fanbase are "meddling" in things that aren't our business such as the health and welfare of the student athletes on the field. Forgive the students who rallied last night at President Schlissel's house to see to it that DB is ousted. I absolutely agree with these people 100% the students and the fanbase are completely insane...and they're fucking right we are...why? BECAUSE GD IT THIS IS MICHIGAN AND WE LOVE OUR PLAYERS! So to team 135 I say GO BLUE and BEAT RUTGERS ASS!!!

To the parents

of Shane Morris (not that they'll see this) my wife and I watched on Saturday the complete lack of responsibility that these "adults" in charge showed, and were appalled. My wife, at one point, was in tears screaming at the tv to take Shane Morris out. Until then she didnt even know who Shane was but yet as a mother she placed herself in your shoes for those few moments and completely lost her mind and rightfully so. After the game I was on FB, Twitter and here looking for something; some sort of plausible reasoning as to why what happened, happened. I couldn't find one and cannot imagine what you went through as you watched your son nearly fall to the ground in obvious pain with as we know now a concussion. My heart goes out to you and the rest of your family.

To Shane Morris: Shane, we all appreciate and respect your toughness young man. Keep being the competitive player you are and you will go far in this game. You are an ambassador to the University of Michigan and as a parent and fan I truly hope you get well soon. Go Blue!

I dont normally post on here

because the last time I did I overstepped my bounds and let emotion take over common sense. However comma I don't blame the players, for what happened Saturday. You are the head coach at what used to be considered one of the top flight schools for CFB. And being held responsible for what happened? Yeah it's kind of your job! But, I will say this, after reading this article and seeing some other things on here I think it's necessary to say: if you are reading this, you are like me a Michigan fan, through and through. We are universally hated around the country because of this so called "arrogance" that seeps from our "Go Blue" culture. I know, I live in South Carolina (SEC Country) and travel alot. no matter where I go I get shit for wearing my Michigan hat.

So, if like me Saturday pissed you off...so be it. But, keep faith because like Bo said, "When your team is winning, be ready to be tough. Because winning can make you soft. On the other hand if your team is losing, stick by them, KEEP BELIEVING."

Having tried to be a little inspirational there does not negate the facts.

1. We have talent

2. We have a lot of it.

3. Something in the way that talent is being coached...just isn't right.

4. Until someone does something to develop said talent, then yes we will be just another program.

love watching this game again

but hate listening to Chris Spielman because he's such a homer! Whats worse is everything he said he tried to counter with some meaningless information about Michigans D or something Denard did wrong (which wasnt much!)

cant start own thread

but just saw on espn.com (dont know if this got posted yet) Martin and Molk invited to Senior Bowl...congrats to those two!!!

Edit: and in the spirit of this thread according to stubhub Sugar bowl is #2 in ticket sales 1 obviously being the NCG.

True but what I mean by it is

True but what I mean by it is the "human" poll play in to the computer rankings so does that not also mean the computers include margin of victory depending on how the human votes go?

What hurt us more

is the fact that the computers (judging from the recent experience) are style point favored. We didnt blow out Ohio. The reason the Big 12 and Pac 12 and SEC teams get favored is because of what they do to their opponents i.e. Ok St. blowing some team out by 50 points or LSU doing what they did to Arkansas...until we like Herbstreit and Craig James said play quality opponents and beat them convincingly we wont get those at large  bids. Finally, if we play in the Cap One bowl i would be happy with that...as long as we win...GO BLUE!!!

no worries

Georgia loses to LSU Oklahoma loses to OSU we are good to go

Not trying to be

Not trying to be arguementative but are you sure about the coverage? I am in South Carolina and the ABC channel WOLO has Kentucky vs. Tennessee...figures being in SEC coverage area but want to make sure, if so I can stream it but would rather watch it on the $1500.00 HD tv i got rather than the 15" computer screen.

Our defense is doing awesome

Our defense is doing awesome this year!!! In addition we are ranked #16 in the current USA Today Coaches Poll. Top 5 is interesting to say the least...

Edit: In reference to an earlier thread started about the NC game, it very well could be an all SEC NC game...let the arguement about 2006 begin!!! LOL!

Regarding Denard

Mark Schlabach at ESPN did  a "whats hot and whats not" list (follow link) and in the not column (strangely)  was  Denard. Then a little further down the team was listed under whats hot. Confusing because i am pretty sure Denard is part of the team???

http://espn.go.com/college-football/preview11/story/_/id/6896166/hot-not-college-football-2011

Edit: it mentions denard being a mobile quarterback and being put into a "pro-style" offense.  Why do people think that Denard won't flourish under Borges' teaching?

I think the thing that OSU

I think the thing that OSU fans and others associated with that university should be upset about is how Terelle Pryor has not once come out and made a pubic statement via press conference or radio interview regarding any of these issues and if he has I missed it. As a human being it is natural to be afraid or hesitant to own up to any wrong doing in fear of consequences or repercussions...but in this case with everything the public has seen thus far i think TP owes his fans and the university a well deserved apology...not to mention the other players involved. I think it shows cowardice and a complete lack of integrity to not do so. I am not sure if he realizes the situation that he has put not only the university in but also future student-athletes in as well. All the talk on this blog and others about this affecting recruiting, bowl bans and negative press has to be weighing on TPs mind. And, if he is any type of person he should feel extremely guilty and if he doesnt then he is a complete piece of garbage.

CBS said he was killed by a bullet to the head

anyone got bullet in your head by Rage readily available....sounds evil but im glad hes dead now my brother in arms can come home!!!

Im not from AA and this goes

Im not from AA and this goes without saying,  there is most likely a readily good food supply...clover, acorns etc over there and until they get run out by hunters or whoever they will keep showing up...is the rut up there the same as in Indiana usually Sep-Oct timeframe?

General comments

hence the Take it FWIW, but if he prefers to throw the ball quite a bit this could be a good thing if Borges takes us in that direction with his offense. Just sayin.

Take it FWIW

Here is what Gunner Kiel said about UM on ESPN:

Michigan: "They have a new coaching staff and they are bringing a new offense on the table that's going to feature the passing game a lot. It's going to be a good system and they will be successful."

Hmm...

i see their line of thinking and while i understand it...i would think it would be detrimental to a recruit that he gets big time offers from like mentioned above Alabama, UM, OSU etc. So potentially a good player might not get the offers he  needs due to the recruiting sites opinions of him thus hurting his recruitment?

one part inparticular

"He already has three 4-star recruits committed to his 2012 recruiting class, and of his six total commits, three hail from the state of Ohio."

Penny for Tressels thoughts after reading this...

calm yourself for a second,

calm yourself for a second, me using (like you said) homosexual references as a means to insult them and actually saying they are gay...you are right...are two different things and i should have chose my words a little better. Also, I am not seeking sympathy...like i said in the same thread i hold no ill will against those guys now because as you can imagine they got what was coming to them...they are military as well and believe me it hurt their careers to say the least...all I am trying to get across to you is that dont expect me not to be a little upset about it thats all...all this crap aside man we both can agree on this (i think). What Tressel did is extremely wrong and i like some others hopes he gets the punishment he deserves...its just a little more personal to me because as it was referred to earlier his fans (possibly like the ones who jumped me) think he is a "saint" thats all man. Not here to be a protagonist man, just love UM Football and obviously hate OSU.

Why would his rating drop

Why would his rating drop just because of the amount of offers he has or has not got? I dont understand the rating system to begin with but i would think how well they performed  in high school would be the best indication of there talent would it not?

Whats funny about you're

Whats funny about you're reply is not once did you mention anything about my encounter with OSU fans...must be nice to only address one thing and totally ignore the other. Thus, giving you the right to be judgemental...ok, you got me i give up I should go straight to hell for using homophobic slurs and should be discharged this second for expressing an opinion. Look to put an end to this crap for good...you're right i am wrong I should be banned and sent to hell because you're so awesome and I am not. MY BAD!!!! Hit the gavel its over.

Sad indeed

I met a guy on Monday who is an alumni class of '92 who owns a Goodyear tire business here in Sumter, SC...he was fairly upset because of this...RIP Jim

for justingoblue and the_white_tiger

Please excuse the use of language and my transcedence of the boundaries of "civil discourse" but let me know what you think of OSU fans and their coach or whatever when three of them (just OSUfans) jump you for simply wearing a Michigan hat and shirt in a bar watching the 2010 Iowa game of all games(which unfortunately we lost) and I had not said a word to anyone. Not to mention in a bar in South Carolina where im stationed for crying out loud. I realize this is no excuse but pardon me if since then I have had a little bit of a "hatred" for them. Also, explain to my kids why dad couldnt take them fishing because all his knuckles on his right hand were broke. Lastly I fight for the freedom for you two and everyone else on here to be able to say what they want when they want. So, when what happened to me, happens to you, let me know how you feel...and then talk to me about being civil.

Whats worse

is their fans (who unfortunately are human beings as well as we are) are stupid enough to believe any shit that comes out of his filthy sewer. I hold no ill will towards their fans...loyalty is a trait rarely observed anymore...but ignorance is no excuse.

tOSU fans, alumni, supporters

tOSU fans, alumni, supporters etc dont want to have this "smear" their image because they know we as the UM faithful will use it as ammunition everytime something happens from now on.

F!@# OSU and their alumni, fans they can have their cheating ass, gay sweatervest wearing faggot of a coach...i hope he does stay on so when we beat their ass this year it will make it all that much better!!!

Edit: My hatred for tOSU has no boundaries...

Mauk & Kiel

I hate to point out the obvious here being new and all but everything i have read says that both Mauk and Kiel are early ND leans. I realize the thought process might be that if one commits to ND before the other then whoevers left goes to UM or somewhere else. Also Mauk looks like he might fit at Mizzou due to him being in that 5 wide set in HS. So, if thats the case why worry about QB this year. Why not go and get a bunch of really good offensive lineman for DR/DG to stand behind the next couple of years and worry about the QB next year i.e. Shane Morris. Also, a couple of big DTs wouldnt hurt either...never does GO BLUE!

Edit: Mauk for those who dont know also has Mizzou as one of the schools he is considering, just sayin.

25 Long years

At the age of 5 my brother and grandfather sat me down in Marshall, MI and I watched my first Michigan game. September 14th 1985 vs. Notre Dame in which UM won 20-12. Since that day i have bled Maize n Blue. I have been through good times and bad with the team. I got drunk at 17 yrs old when they won the Rose Bowl in '97 and came to the brink of insanity when Crable got flagged for the illegal hit on Troy Smith in 06 essentially (not entirely) costing a chance at the national title game. Over the past 3-4 years i have watched in agony as our beloved Wolverines have been criticized and put down for the poor play on defense and on offense at times as well. I hope that Coach Hoke can reinstill the prominence known as Michigan Football. Never went to school at UM...wish i had.

Kids

I have two children of my own and if i know anything about teenagers its this...they dont know what the hell they want! Again, just relax.

Oh and after

you watch his highlights tell us which RB in our "stable of backs" can beat him out.

Shaw=tries to juke to much inside and his balance isnt all that impressive

Smith=my opinion to small, got mad respect for him though tough kid for his size the injury killed his speed though

Cox=fumbling issues

Hopkins=good back, fumbling issues as well as needs to get some more speed

Toussaint=injury prone

Rawls from what i have seen is pretty quick in and out of his cuts and can damn well run over people. Top end speed is decent and will get better in our S&C program. I think he redshirts Freshman year and if he isnt starting in 2012 I will be surprised. like stated above Mike Hart/Mark Ingram. Just my opnion
