"It's a lot easier being a drug dealer than an AAU coach" - this guy. Tell me something I don't know. I mean, don't think but have never tried either.

My favorite club is Stoke City. They're located in the county from where I get my family name, so I decided a few years back to pull for them. I see another top 10 finish, somewhere in the 7-10 range.

To lose weight. I had a lot of weight to lose so I didn't allow myself any beer until I achieved my goal weight.

I had my first beers since the NFC championship game in January tonight. Had one Dirt Wolf and a Sculpin. I missed IPAs.

I had a bad experience with acetaminophen a couple years back while following a doctor's/prescription's orders. Extreme dizziness, nausea, and what felt like fading in and out of consciousness. I don't know if it was a sensitivity to the drug or the amount the doctor was having me take, but I felt like I was going to die. I now stay away from any pain medication of any sort.

Their IPA is the only offering that I enjoy these days. However, Sweetwater was my introduction to craft brew, and there was a time when I really really enjoyed a 420. Palates change I suppose. If I'm going to enjoy a local Georgia brew, it'll be a Terrapin. What do you all think of some of the newer breweries in the area like Red Hare, Monday Night, etc.?

I like the trade. Relief pitching in the playoffs now looks like: Smyly in the 7th, Joba in the 8th, and Soria closing. That looks a helluva lot better to me than with Nathan closing.

Jackson, Wyoming is probably my favorite place in the United States. Absolutely beautiful, tons to do and see, great restaurants, and a brewery as well. The Tetons are insane to see up close, and their prominence and the rate at which they rise takes you back. For those that are up to the challenge you can also climb the Grand Teton. Also, Yellowstone is just to the North, and the Wind Rivers (more great scenery and fly fishing) are to the East.

Beautiful area, and it's funny that you mention the Leadville 100 as it is on my list of "dream races" to participate in. One day, maybe.

Stoke City is my team. My family name is English, so I traced where the name originated in England and Stoke was the closest team.

I've seen those four bands more times than I care to admit. I'm debating going to see Phish in Charlotte this Friday. They are always a good time, and from the recordings I've heard of this summer tour so far, they sound on point. Add to the fact that "Fuego" is their best studio effort in a long time, and they are a must see for me this summer.

Another Hip Hop recommendation, the Dr. Octagon (Kool Keith w/ Dan the Automator) album Dr. Octagonecologyst. Strange, trippy, weird alt-hip hop. The beats and lyrics are different, but gripping and very different from anything you've heard.

Some artists that I've been listening to a lot lately and recommend.
Hip Hop: Hieroglyphics, Deltron 3030, The Pharcyde, Tribe Called Quest, Gang Starr, Wu Tang Clan (and solo albums), Outkast, Joey Badass, etc.
Rock: My Morning Jacket, Black Keys, Wilco, Morphine, The Black Crowes, The Velvet Underground, The Allman Brothers Band (especially given their retirement this year), Primus, King Crimson, Led Zeppelin (re-mastered ablums are worth it with the bonus material), The Wood Brothers, Frank Zappa (start with the album Hot Rats or Joe's Garage and work your way through his stranger material. Amazing artist), and The Band
Jazz: Mahavishnu Orchestra (Holy Fusion), Medeski Martin and Wood, Coltrane, etc.
Bluegrass/Country: Ryan Bingham, Railroad Earth, the Infamous Stringdusters
Funk: Parliament and Funkadelic, the New Mastersounds, Herbie Hancock (Head Hunters stuff), Lettuce, the Meters, and Galactic.

According to an mlb.com article on the game, this was the Tigers first walk off grand slam since June 27, 2004. That was by Carlos Pena and happened on the night the organization celebrated the 20th anniversary of the 84 championship team. Pretty cool.

Here in Georgia it doesn't seem to get light out until about 5:45 or so, but when I lived in Wyoming it would be light out at 4:45am during the summer. It also wasn't so damn hot and humid.

Shirt betting is legal in women's rowing under the NCAA. At least that's what my wife recollects from her time rowing at the D-1 level. Given that, I would think that it would be legal at a hypothetical NCAA men's level.

Lions picked up Jerome Couplin III (Safety, William and Mary) as a UDFA. Great pickup for the Lions. This kid has great measurables and really lays the wood. He's 6'2" 215 with a 4.5 forty, 41" vertical, and an 81" wingspan. He could be this years Waddle for the Lions as far as UDFAs go.
