Jury still out

1. I agree with your comments about Hoke, but my question is - is he sharp enough to make the hard decisions and lead us to glory, or will he always be outcoached by Meyer? I vote against another Carr era.

3. I don't like coaches that can only coach with "their" players. Why can't he coach smarter with the limitations he has to deal with in any given year, and why can't he coach less turnovers? Ohio went from crummy to 12-0 in one year!

4. Your comment about skill players is right-on. Is it a reflection on Borges?

Not sure

I think we have moved past the RichRod days but worry today is a sign we may linger in the Carr days if Hoke does not correct his coaching problems. Don't blame the players. And don't forget, good players don't want to play for teams that don't win the big games.

Responsibility

The last time I looked, Borges worked for Hoke. Hoke preaches responsibility and now is the time for him to take responsibility and fix the coaching problems experienced this year. And I do not want to hear that the players were not good enough. It is the job of the coaches to use the players they have and to win. Hoke and his coaches have failed the team and the fans.

I worry that Hoke may be too loyal to a fault, or he just can’t make the tough decisions. Denard is a fine person and a great player, but he should not be used improperly or to the detriment of the team. And if Borges is failing in his play calling, Hoke should command a change to something that works. If the OL has deficiencies than work other magic; why is that so obvious to everybody but Hoke!

All the great recruits in the country will not overcome bad coaching, and bad coaching will drive great recruits away. If Hoke is not careful, today’s outcome could become regular. I hate to say this but Meyer is a good coach. Is Hoke really capable of bringing glory back to Michigan football?

I worry that the upcoming bowl game will bring more of the same unless fixes are made. Instead of sending the current class of seniors off with a victory, more of the same will bring “more of the same.”

Man-up, Hoke.

OSU

I'm tired of the Bama nation's crying. They had their chance and blew it.

This year

Why are we talking about next year? I want to win the three remaining games this year . Denard looks lost too many times and his throwing mechanics are off; where is his swager? The team is the theme not Denard. If he can't run and is coughing it up he should sit.

Hopefully

Hoke will provide Borges with a new vision on how to avoid the bad direction his playing calling and Robinson took against Illinois. If the offense will complement the defense we win the next three games.

Win

Great win for the defense. AS far as the offense, Borges needs to stop the "trick" plays that fool nobody and either make Robinson a QB or convert him to a RB or receiver.

QB

That was pathetic; sit Borges  and Robinson the second half.

Let's win

Comparing Borges to RR or even Carr is useless in trying to determine  how to go forward. Carr's teams sucked when you look at his record against ND, OSU and the bowls. Hoke preaches accountability so he and Borges should be held accountable for the wins and loses. Regardless of the quality of talent available, they are accountable for getting as much as possible out of that talent. This year they have not. The two loses could have been wins. We have four games to go, including the bowl game. They need to get on the same page and devise a plan to win those four games - with the current roster and without regard to future recruiting, or any other excuse. Hoke and Borges: be Michigan men and implement something that will work for your current players.

Better coaching accountability

I'd like to see Borges mind-meld Denard into the days of old when he was so exposive.

Questions

The blogs are full of advice for the OC and DC. However, the questions posed are too mild. Ask harder questions and don't give them the answer in the question.

Tough decisions

Yes, we are 7-2 but we could have won the two loses. Al is failing as he is not making Denard better, and his use of Devin is is a momentum brake. However, there is another issue brewing – can Hoke make the hard decisions to fire people or demote players? I like loyalty, but he must hold players and coaches accountable .

Not loud

I recently moved to Tennessee and attend their games (son is a graduate). These fans down south are so much louder than us. When the UT opponent is in a third down situation, the stadium erupts in even more noise. I attended the game Sat and, except for a few instances, only the students made noise. The other 90,000 need to stand up and make noise to give us the home field advantage all the time. (Good luck changing the UM stadium culture!)
