I specifically asked the EDSBS commentariat for ideas, thus that is why they were in the comments. If you had read ALL of the comments you'll notice I was the one that posted many to generate a few more.

5 years 41 weeks ago Mostly I pointed out how 2-3 plays greatly changed the game

The safety and the fumble were major momentum plays, especially the fumble as Purdue was in Michigan territory when the game was still close.

5 years 47 weeks ago A couple things

1. Sean Robinson moved to linebacker, so that's one less QB.

2. Ralph Bolden tore his ACL yet again (third time total) in the IU game last year, so we're not countingon much of anything from him.

7 years 23 weeks ago T-Mill From hammer & Rails here

Thanks for the kind words about being in a bad football situation. We're all a little frustrated from the injuries, plus those that are playing look like they haven't even been practicing at times. Sean Robinson regressed after playing decently against Wisconsin. That's why I thought we had a chance at winning. you have to agree. If we could have gotten one stinking touchdown drive in the second half it we probably had a good shot at winning with the way our defense was playing.

I have always tried to admit when I have been wrong on my site. That's something I want to be very up front with when it comes to my readers. Hope is getting a free pass this year ebcause we have so many frontline skill players hurt, but there needs to be drastic improvement next season. I suppose it is good that we should have a ton a of depth with game experience next year, but it means nothing if the gameplanning isn't there. I feel like this week we planned for Siller playing the whole game at QB even though he hadn't played AT ALL since the Toledo game, and hadn't played QB in two years. When he went down after one play we reverted to the same rotating quarterbacks plan that had disastrous results at Illinois. That falls on Hope. He needs to pick a quarterback and stick with him.

7 years 37 weeks ago Very well said

I like that Hope wants to stand up for his players. I don't have a problem with that. Sometimes I do think he goes too far. This may have been one of them.

7 years 37 weeks ago A few things

1. Garrett Bushong is an idiot and deserved his proper public shaming.

2. OLS is jokingly referred to as Our Lord & Savior on campus because it keeps so many guys eligible.

3. I've done a profile of every player on the roster at Hammer & Rails this summer. There are definitely some good kids taking serious majors, but there is a bunch of OLS. Every school has it.

4. Majoring in communications at an engineering school was a huge mistake.

7 years 47 weeks ago True, the ACC is different

I've seen Morris do it in the NCAA's though. It's become so common that it is kind of his thing every year. Again though, there is a lot more talent at a place like Miami than at Purdue. Schreiber's decision looked great until the fifth. I honestly think he panicked and pulled Morgan too early.

7 years 47 weeks ago Resting Bischoff

It's not unheard of. Jim morris down at Miami does this all the time in tournaments. today ihe rested Chris Hernandez (his ace) against Florida State in game one of hte ACC Tournament sand started a weekday starter. it worked as they won 9-3.

Of course, it helps that Miami's bench guys would probably be all-Big Ten caliber players on most any team in the league. When they back up a guy it is a lot different than what a Big Ten pitcher has backing him up. I still think it was dumb to rest Bischoff, but would have been great had the wheels not come off in the 5th.

7 years 48 weeks ago Iowa swept Purdue

It was pretty ugly. If not for Northwestern's walk-off against MSU we would have been in a four way tie with MSU, Northwestern, and IU for the last two spots and might not have gotten in.

7 years 48 weeks ago Does Purdue also clinch?

The Michigan State loss helps, but since Purdue did not play OSU I am not sure if they hold the tiebreaker over them. It would be nice to clinch without even playing.

7 years 49 weeks ago Here is my write up on the final weekend, with possibilities
