If you like relaxed dive bars, check out The Plaza Tavern at 319 N. Henry Street and have a Plazaburger. As I recall, it's off State Street towards the Capitol.
can take solace in the fact that he is now a real "Michican Man" because he is a former coach. As I understand it, all former coaches - and assistant coaches - are Michigan Men. Maybe someday he can be re-hired because he now has the credentials that he didn't have when he was the actual coach.
Michigan is not going to be able to get a big name DC because a big name DC would want to be the head coach himself and would not work for a head coach who has yet to distinguish himself.
with a little luck, we'll be able to consistently produce 9 - 3 teams. Undefeated? Doubt it. But 9 -3 is achievable and 10 - 2 in a good year. That's pretty good, right? We still have a huge stadium and cool helmets, but it's gonna be a long time before anyone is afraid to walk into Michigan Stadium to play us.
If the guys could win this one, it would move everything forward by tons. The Silver Football thing for Denard is a big deal. The Trib does not have a Michigan bias.
The reason why we have no direction in our football program is because we do not know which idea will win: Absolute Speed (RR) vs Strength (JH). DB is trying see which will win.
This team is getting better, even throught the losses. They're getting tighter (I mean, more together) and more determined. These guys aren't gonna stop. RR, the coaches, and especially the players are building something good. These guys are becoming a force. Slowly but surely.
When I first heard about the Alabama game, the first thing I thought was that RR is here through 2012. No way we're changing coaches. And that means he's here to stay - which is fine with me. By 2012, we'll be a match for Alabama.
There's a lot of people who think that if someone has a Southern/rural/country/whatever accent, then they're not too bright. You find this a lot at Northern academic institutions, especially high-ranking academic institutions.
These repetitive questions are getting really boring. It's getting to be time for RR to tell these smart-ass, ankle-biters what they can go do with themselves. He's put up with more than enough.
He was definitely commenting on the "simplicity" of the Michigan offense. As in, "anyone can do it". Rather immature. MSU's inferiority complex certainly runs deep. It has even permeated their coaching staff.
If you havn't noticed, we're gonna break this thing. I've watched this for a long time, and I think we're finally gonna break this thing. You know what I mean. We're gonna be really, really good.
I don't know the exact answer to the question, but I do know that the wierdest possible solution is what will ultimately happen. So try to think of the strangest possible alignment imaginable and you will have your answer.
and we give up the Muchigan / OSU rivalry (they'll still play, but it will be just another game). Wow. It's really hard for me to see that we're better off now. That's a really heavy price for whatever we got in return. Now we're just another conference, just like everyone else.
That game was the essence of college football. No game will ever be as cool as that game was. And we gave it away for nothing.
I totally agree with you that RR does NOT have to win 8 or 9 games to keep his job. I know we're going to hear that from the media all season long, but that is flat out NOT the case. We need to show good progress - yes - but Dave Brandon does not want to part with RR and start over with someone new. That would be bad management, and I don't think that's in his DNA.
The only thing that could endanger RR is an ugly, complete collapse. I doubt that's going to happen. If we show progress, RR is just fine.
We need to beat UConn. Troy is a huge blow, but we still need to beat UConn. We must figure out what we need to do, then do it. We still have enough talent. We have the character. We must pound UConn into the ground.
These 1960's people just can't stop reliving the 1960's. That's because everything was beautiful then and everything sucks now. Right, 1969 flowerchild?
I have a dislike/hate relationship with ESPN. I don't think I can watch them this year (except for the non-Pam Ward Michigan games, of course). ESPN is just way too full of bs.

Dave Brandon definitely has a Lowest Common Denominator marketing philosophy.
awaiting the next stray dogs and cats that get tacked on to this conference.
any stray dog or cat that wanders by.
will also be wearing the uniform every week. That would be cool.

I think your greatest fear is also the most likely scenario.
Your moral superiority is duly noted. Now you better hurry along to your Women's Studies class.
is a "Michigan Man" now because he is now a former coach - just like Brady Hoke. Now he could get hired and there'd be no problem.

That is very funny.

The rest of the Big 10 schools could beat us every game from here to eternity and I still wouldn't trade my UM degree for one of theirs.
I simply cannot believe that we lost this game. I just can't believeit.

Not if it's a home and home. I don't want to see us on a blue football field. It just looks stupid. It really does.
You may be right about Jay Cutler. I live in Chicago and I'm not sure Jay Cutler is ever going to be the same. Not this season, at least.
Whoever can pull the sword from the rock.

What does your cat think AJ Jordan will do? Perhaps she could spell it on your keyboard.

Yeah, you're right. I'm going to retract that. I'm being too pessimistic. I'm not in a very good mood this year.
Hemingway will be injured all year. I think he's done.
I totally agree with you and Hannibal - this is New Coke, but worse. The greatest rivalry in college football - gone.
We must just move on from that unhappy chapter.

Your friend thinks that our pass defense will be so bad that we won't be able to stop an average-or-above team at all. I'm sure that's what he thinks.
I'll bet this was straight up, wasn't it? You shrewd devil.
You do need to ignore this person and anything related to Cleveland.
