Heroic effort Too bad you are already married. Lucky gal is Mrs. Six Zero!
Thank you Brian Best explanation I've read....you sure you aren't Ron Jaworski? Well done sir.
comics in your post??? we are not worthy hah-evah. as my Grandmother would say, Brian's new book is SUUCH A DEAL, you should buy.
dumb girl why the 20 drink minimum?
Where's his girlfriend going???? here's my unsubstantiated suspicion. He's a 17 yo kid. With a girlfriend. I'll betcha his girl is going to Tulsa. And now, so is he....
funny analogy .... as Brian is definitely more staid (in a GOOD way). WLA dudes--clever and crazy all at the same time. A better comparison MIGHT be (note the emphasis) Tony Kornheiser and Dennis Miller. The first an accomplished smart journalist with a whole lotta fan sprinkled in without much filter, the second a brilliantly odd, and culturally literate commentator who could border on elitest given the obtuse references to literature, world history, and porn. Either way, each is good for who and what they are. And, I now insert those empty Rodney King words....can't we just all get along???? :P
Wrong Women

Er, mth882...you need to watch with different girls. This girl yells and screams and is pissed just like the rest of you guys. Not sure if I'm reading your comment correctly, but I think you may be suggesting that RichRod is a girl because he is emotional????

Not so fast.

Football is all about passion, strategy, intensity, and the ability to finish. Something women require in their men too. ;-)

Dedicated Fans vs. Faux Fans

Absolutely I had no idea that we even had a hope of winning this game after watching the first half 'performance'. Basically I felt sorry for the kids. One "boos" the LIONS. One does not "BOO" a fourth-string QB from Adrian for gosh sakes. I was one of the folks in the stands who stayed til the clock read zeros. And then I still stayed to see the celebration in the student section/endzone. And my dedication was rewarded with one of the most amazing comebacks I've seen in 20+ years of watching Michigan football.

BUT the rain of "boos" came from ALL sections, including people from behind me-- not your  so-called 'drunken college students'. In fact, those students got their act together so well that they were able to form a blue block M within a sea of Maize. In the fourth quarter those same yahoos from all sections were chanting 'over-rated' at Wisconsin, like Michigan somehow became #1 in the AP polls.

I feel perfectly justified in calling out the fans who boo'd and who left (quit) early. Good thing the team didn't.

roger that thanks g. definitely value your comments. peace out.
Gotcha

the mind over-rides the automaticity.

what do you tell them to calm them down tho? as a follow-up: how come the intensity of the fourth quarter  comeback doesn't mess up the automaticity but enhances it??

But....

Greg Mathews knows better than to carry the ball in his inside arm...I mean isn't that a skill you learn in grade school??? ball in the outside arm.

that's what was so baffling to me about the first half---piss poor play vs. bad coaching? or both.

perserverance. impressive.

g u r a wise man g u r a wise man
Fickle Fans

Yeah. The fans boo'd the team at the half. I mean c'mon. They are kids. WAY out of their league. And then to get all gung ho and "we're great" crap in the second half??

bugged me.

Props to the D. Props to the kids for No Quit. Props to Chocalate Milk.

No idea how we pulled out that win.....

Brilliant

Dear Brian--

A wonderful tribute to an enigmatic man. It's obvious that you have captured his essence not only in this piece, but also in your daily writings. I'm now having a "look at him" moment about you.

With appreciation and admiration---T9

eloquence.... major props to Brian for the use of "ennui" w/rt/ Michigan Football 2008
just wondering....

why abortion is not ok but war is. does it matter whose baby it is?????  the kneejerk reaction is NO, a complicated answer is it depends.....

life is complicated --if one believes in individual freedoms--like carrying a gun, deciding your own religion, and educating one's children--then why is deciding what to do or not do with one's own body a bad thing?

on the other hand, if you believe in Christian values like caring for one another and being your brother's keeper then why wouldn't you oppose war, support universal policies for the good of all, love all despite differences?

I just don't get it and all this politics stuff make my head really really hurt.

Insulted

helloheisman you hit the nail on the head.

damn straight i'm insulted! It is demeaning and wrong to think that the only reason women were interested in Hilary is because of her ovaries so having any ovarian candidate on any ticket will therefore bring those voters over.

McCain has just proven that he is a rash, crazy ol' candidate who just doesn't get it.

Wow....sorry

Gentlemen--particularly kind ShockFX. I am sorry that I did not use proper etiquette by posting your well-done video on The Spawn. Since Ninja ( a member of WLA) is the blogger formerly known as joshua on MZone I thought that we were all in this together and that you had sent your video as a link to be posted. Honestly I don't know the difference technically between "linking" and "embedding" and I thought that by providing props with a direct link/click (?) to your site right at the beginning that it would be clear where the information came from. My bad.

dex---not sure why you feel the need to hate, but ok. if cross-referencing from here to our site is not 'cool' then we won't bother to again. There are no adds on our site, so the cross-posting was not meant to benefit us in any monetary way and was done at the suggestion of some of our friends over at The Spawn. Those of us who miss Yost and the MZone camaraderie were simply trying to make it known that we are making a go at it.

apparently camaraderie does not equal "comrade" in your army, so consider yourself liberated from us.

Nathan

It's easy to snicker about a male twirler--but seriously, wait until you see this kid's skills. He was the best part of his high school's half-time show. Give him credit for being true to himself and following his passion. Maybe think of him as the Holly Mangold of twirling????

SpawnNation come visit the M Zone refugees at http://spawnofmzone.blogspot.com/

er, techinically, the

er, techinically, the University of Michigan has the largest alumni association in the nation.....

I don't think that one has to be an alum to support U of M athletics, but would contend that you should be an alum to comment on any of the academics.....

good to see you again! hey glad to see that you are around! have missed your posts on our recently dearly departed M-Zone
benedicts???

ninja and catie et tu????
