Dont forget potential 2013 commits like

Dymonte Thomas. He's made it clear that we're sitting at #1 for him. He could potentially be the starter at running back.

I can agree with this

I feel if the tattoo is something personal to you and meaningful, then you should've regret it. For me, my tattoos tie into my ethnic and cultural background. I'm sure if I got Bugs Bunny or a fairy when I turned 18, I'd def want that thing gone as an adult. I also try to go to artists who are reputable to make sure I'm going to get "art" and not "ink".

I can see a big reason people lasering their tattoos is having a tattoo fade and look stank over the years. There's nothing to completely prevent this, but there are things to do that can help preserve it. A lot of artists nowadays often free touch-up on their work when there's fading. Also, you have to be smart about exposure of your tattoos with UV rays. I try my best to cover up with sunblock when I'm out surfing to preserve my tattoos that mean a lot to me.

But like you said, to each their own.

Thanks for the information.

I always appreciate learning about artists. I just looked up Durb's work and It looks good. He does nice work with color. I am not particularly familiar with artists who work primarily in Americana-style tattoos. It's not my style, but I definitely appreciate the work, though I think Jeff Zuck at Name Brand is better.

It depends

I have a few tattoos and I would say that a the majority of tattoo artists charge by an hourly rate anywhere from $50-$200. Usually this rate will depend on the reputability of the artist and the traffic for this particular shop or artist. Other artists will charge a minimum rate, no matter how big or elaborate the tattoo is, and then an additional hourly charge. For example, Kat von D, from LA Ink, charges a $500 minimum + hourly cost. Some will also charge a flat charge for the specific tattoo that you're getting.

I doubt there are any reputable or famous tattoo artists in Columbus that charges what Kat does, but if they are the best game in town, I'd said they'd easily ask for $150 an hour. Tattoos definitely aren't cheap because you have to pay for the cost of the needles, the ink, the artist, overhead, plus a tip, which usually runs $20-50 per hour. The only time you'd ever get a "cheap" tattoo is either from an apprentice who is starting out in the business or from a good friend that doesn't charge.

Judging from what I've seen on Terrelle's arms, I'd said that both arms would easily run somewhere between $3,000-$6,000. This is just an estimate because I don't know what he has tattooed on him, other than the O, and how much detail is involved. My tattoo artist in California charges $150 an hour and my last session (a half sleeve) ran me $700. It's probably going to cost me another $700 to finish it, if not more. Definitely not cheap.

Just as a side note of how awesome Ann Arbor is, there is a famous tattoo artist who works there. His name is Leo Zulueta and he is basically the guy who started the modern tribal tattoo. I know there are some dumb tribal tattoos out there, but Leo's work is based off of traditional tribal tattoos from the Pacific Islands and he studied with artists from that region. His work was actually profiled in National Geographic.

Hope this is helpful.

Dont' tell Terrell

The little bitch is steaming over the fact that he's overlooked in the Big Ten.

Can he play DB?

The dude's like 6'0" tall.

Man,

is it just me or does Harbaugh look like he's in his mid-30s in that picture?

I just imagine

Other Big Ten schools piping in this damn song whenever they're beating us...the bright side is he could've picked a song like Puff Daddy's "Public Enemy #1"

Lets go,
thats that beat right here
who should I fear
throw your hand in the air
socialise, get down, let your soouulll lead the way
cause i'm that enemy that you can't see
who you wanna be, you ain't shit to me
It ain't hard for you to get to me
playa, my own dogs, they'll spit fo me
so if you want whats mine, you gots to have the heart
I've seen em come and i've seen em part
If you ain't want beef then why did you start?
Front from the light catch shots after dark
suffer duck or you'll catch these
on the spot, red dots make em all believe
ain't nobody kicking the rhymes like these
see I do the things that they can't achieve
so don't start bassin' an' i'll start pacing
bets on that you'll be discracing
more hotter than the sun,
I'm living on the run
because i'm Public Enemy number one

The Gambler?

You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away, know when to run
You never count your money, when you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin', when the dealin's done.

Or throw everyone off with a Disney song like "A Whole New World"

A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no
Or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming

Bigot?

How am I a bigot? Coz I expect a higher standard of players to put on the winged helmet? This is Michigan. If we want to hold this institution to a high regard, than we need to do the same with the athletes we bring in.

I'm sure the majority of the players on the team are wonderful kids who want to do nothing but work hard and success on the field and in the classroom. But I am not the first person to question some of the kids RR has recruited. And juding by the statement the Miami AD made about how great Randy Shannon was as an individual because he made sure his athletes did well in school and graduated, but fired him anyones makes one assume that Miami doesn't hold itself to level that Michigan does. I know they haven't been elite, they haven't won the ACC, but it's about more than that. It's about setting up these kids for success and to have a bright future just like Harbaugh said. It's hard to do this when you recruit kids who don't meet our minimum qualification or are denied admissions by the university. There are plenty of star athletes that would meet our academic qualifications that we can go after.

I cheer and I support wholehearted the players who play for us. But just because I do doesn't mean I think their coach is the right person for the job. RR seems like a fine individual. I signed up for the organ donation when he was promoting it (though I was already previously registered as an organ donor). But he is not leading this team, the flagship of Michigan athletes, with the integrity and honor that Lloyd Carr spoke of during his retirement speech by recruiting kids Bo and Lloyd wouldn't touch because they aren't Michigan Men.

If you have no tolerance for my differing opinions about where RR would be a good fit, Michigan or Miami, then you would actually be the bigot. Could I have choosen my words differently? Perhaps. But it doesn't change my overall sentiment.

So I hope you can take a moment and take back your statement as it is unfounded and completely untrue, especially when you take into account that I am an Asian Buddhist who has previously worked in medical clinics in Ethiopia, Nepal, and Thailand. I also taught creative writing courses at a correctional facility as a form of community outreach.

I can see it

THUG U wants to return to its values. It wants to win on the field and not have their players win in the classroom. RR would fit in just fine with the misfits he loves to recruit. I'm sure Demar is hoping RR goes to Miami so he would qualify.

I want Oklahoma State This would be a good opposite because it would really determine if RR deserves to come back or not. If their defense is either meh or bad that way some on this board is saying it is, then we should have no problem scoring on them. Especially with 2 weeks to prepare. If we fail to score, then clearly our offense isn't as high-powered as we claim it to be and would definitely be evaluated by DB. Two weeks gives us an opportunity to get ready for some gunslinging by one of the top offenses in the country. A week again, this team was being predicted to win the Big 12. If they bomb on us, then RR should definitely go. Honestly, I think playing Florida is a double-edge sword. If we win, then great - we beat a crappy Florida team with a Nick Sheridan at QB. If we lose to Florida, then RR definitely needs to be fired coz there's no excuse. Especially since one of their DCs just bolted.
My hope is

Stanford will bomb on Wisconsin so bad that Bielema's going to get "Harbaugh's little bitch" tattoo on his calf.

Also, Harbaugh's going to crash the Wisconsin's postgame press conference to call Bielema out as the biggest douche in college football and will ask Bielema if he likes having his ass handed to him.

Oh yeah, then Harbaugh will announce himself as the new Michigan headcoach and will tell Bielema he'd better get used to having his ass stomped year-in and year-out!

We've become

the James Madison of the FBS, the slayer of BCS representatives from weak conferences...

 ::sigh::

Can we settle with

Prepositional pronouns?

Psalms?

Unless there's a juiced-up barbarian in the bible, I'm thinking this quote isn't from a dude wearing mandals.

The usage of prepositions in this statement confuses me...

I'm not sure if you mean we'll put up 60 on the eagles or they'll bomb us for 60. I want to say you mean we'll gunsling the eagles, but given how bad our defense is, I can't be 100% certain.

I agree with this

The defense is way too inexperience and we lack the personnel. A good point was brought up during the UW game. The comment was that a young inexperienced secondary cover their spots in the route/scheme rather than covering open offensive players. Once they hit their spot, they stop rather than finding a player to cover. You can see that with our players - they lack the instinct and the experience to cover properly. Fortunately, this can be corrected with a new DC who can run the defense his way, experience for our players, and the fact that they practice against one of the most dynamic offense.

I just want a 60-70ish ranked defense. That should keep our opposites below 24 pts and we can easily go 10-2 next year.

It's the Big East

Its' coz the 335 is being used in the Big East and being used against powerhouse teams like Louisville and South Florida. The only team in the conference with a decent offense is Cincinnati. Granted WVU beat them, Cinci is no good this year.

DC

Any chance Will Muschamp will be fired? I know he's Brown's successor but maybe there's an outside chance he'd consider leaving for the DC job in AA. He claims the UT job is the elite coaching job, but that's only coz he hasn't been offered an elite job with us yet.

To quote another MGoBlog user

The helmets look like dirty tampons.

Tom - OSU Visitors

Any recruits going to be at the OSU game that we're looking at?

He sounds blue From the interview, it sounds like he's a michigan man through and through. I can't wait until he commits. He brings what Chris Spielman likes to refer to as "talent".
Why Clemson? I'm still confused as to why he'd want to go to Clemson. Aren't they at the bottom of the FBS in passing yards? Their top WR has like 400 yards for the season.
You kidding?!

I love Ann Arbor. It's a great town. The only thing that could make it better is having it in Hawai'i so I can surf and watch hot chicks at the beach. But as a guy who was born and raised in the Bay Area and someone who went to UM, I would say that AA is the only place in the states I would ever want to live in other than Palo Alto.

If the good weather and the ease of the job at Stanford are the only reasons you can come up with of why Harbaugh would stay in Palo Alto, then it clearly isn't the right place for him. I try looking at it the opposite way. If he were already coaching at UM, what would be the reasons why he would stay and not go to Stanford? I can think of a few good ones, can you? And these reasons might be what will motivate him to come back home.

Gutz?

He was a beast!

you tease

Tom, you're such a tease

Tanner McEvoy

I haven't heard much about him. Isn't he visiting in the near future?

Good pick-up

He'd be an awesome pick-up for QB. Except it'd be hard to convince him to sit and wait behind Gardner. BTW, does anyone know if this kid will get a medical redshirt? If not, what a waste of an eligible year.

Shane Wynn Why does he have so many big time offers? I thought he was like 5'5.
Sousa

Though I'm glad Jones and apparently his teammate Shane Wynn are possibly coming up to UM for an OV, I'm a little upset with the Sousa situation. He's considered one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks for 2011, and I can see him becoming a beast after a redshirt and time behind Denard and Devin. The kid can play.

I guess we can use the pipeline in Glendale, but if we're going to go after QBs that are left, why aren't we pursuing Jacoby Brissett? Or Teddy Bridgewater? I hear that kid's thinking about decommitting to Miami.

Big Ten Single-Season Record

Would it count for the Big Ten single-season total yards record if Denard broke it in the bowl game?

I think he's around 800 yards short of Drew Brees' record. That's a lot of yardage for even Shoelace to rack up, especially against UW and OSU. But it's definitely possible if you include the bowl game, which means he only has to average just around 300 yards a game to break it.

Purdues DL

Considering their frontline and kerrigan, I'd say he did a good job today. Not to mention the fact that it was pissing all game.

Tennessee

he's going to tennessee, which is cool with me coz that means watkins won't have to share any receptions with arnett :)

Houston

I feel we'll end up in the Houston bowl. The only way we can expect to be in the insight bowl is if PSU losing their next 3 games or we win all 3 games, which might move us into the gator bowl. As long as we don't play in Motor City Bowl, I'll be happy.

TomVH

I would love for Tom to just let us all know what our chances are with each of these kids. I would love to have them all - Walls, Drew, Jernigan, Watkins. But I also want to know what our chances are so I can sleep better at night.

Dee's Jersey

Will Dee be rocking the #3 jersey like he's using now in high school?

Hell, if he becomes the best catcher, we should give him the #1 jersey when he's an upperclassman.

Excited

I'm excited about having these kids next year. They'll have a year of experience, Woolfolk and Floyd will be better. We'll have some awesome recruits come in (hopefully Walls and Lyons) who can contribue early. We might actually have depth in the defense...reliable depth!

Never know with this team

I wouldn't be surprised if we became the first team that the Zooker wins 3 in a row against.

Wake me up when we play Purdue. I'm going to try and sleep through this weekend to avoid the pain and hurt of us dropping to Zook and the Gang tomorrow.

Kinda Surprised

With the way the team performed last weekend, I was almost surprised to see that there was even a preview or a prediction for this game.

It's almost not worth it coz we can preview the game all we want, but you just never know with this team. Last week's preview said we'd put pressure on McGloin and we'd be gunslinging, and we had a 3 and down on our first possession.

At this point, I'm just hoping that if we are on the 1-yard line, we won't  have a repeat of last year's heartbreaker. But then again, we do like using Smith for these short yardage plays.

Couldn't have said it

Couldn't have said it better.

Though I do spend most of my days at work reading mgoblog. Duo-monitors, one specifically for mgoblog...it explains why the federal government never gets anything done.

Any Official Visit update

So, I take it Cyrus isn't coming for this week's game. Does that mean he's coming for UW?

Or is he going to official at the Big Chill like some of the other recruits?

Thanks Tom!

The only reason why Lou wants

The only reason why Lou wants RR to stick around is so that we continue to suck and it gives ND the chance to be better than us.

Craig's the man

It should a lot of maturity at his age to be able to speak up and express his concerns rather than simply transferring to avoid the problem.

I agree

Though to be respectful to the Mocs, they're 4-2 in their conference. Better than us.

Risk involved

There's definitely risk involved with going with Malzahn since he has no head coaching experience. But he's also recognized as one of the leading offensive minds in all of football.

I know RR is the godfather of the spread, but just coz you started something doesn't mean someone else can't make it better. At the very least, we can get someone else in who runs a similar system who is working with a great product like newton.

Frost

Is he ever going to come to town?

Awesome Stats

The thing is, this is something that might be able to attract a coach like Bellatio or offensive guru like Malzahn.

Everyone knows we have a beast in Denard and that he'll have another year under his belt next year. It's like looking at another Dennis Dixon or Cam Newton for these guys. Let's face it, Cam ain't sticking around in Auburn and Malzahn is nothing going to have another chance to coach a player like this unless he jumps ship to coach Denard.

Thanks

That was an awesome read.
