I just looked to see what games would be playing in the next week. If you read this remember to record the 1993 Rose Bowl, 1998 Rose Bowl, Michigan-Auburn bowl game, and Michigan @ Minnesota 2003.
I don't think many people will read my post, and most won't care. There used to be a group called Fort Minor that made rap/hip-hop. They aren't very mainstream like Lil' Wayne or Soulja Boy, and for the most part their lyrics aren't offensive.
Well my first game was Michigan-Minnesota 2004. I don't remember the game at all but I was a little kid and didn't understand football. I think I got to go to Michigan-Wisconsin 2005, but I don't actually know.
The first game I CAN remember is Michigan-Eastern Michigan 2009. I think it was a closer game too, not very good.
The next game was Michigan-MSU... last year... at home...
I was all hyped up (I'm only 16, by the way) and it was the biggest let down of my life. I wore my 16 jersey all week and got made fun of/ slammed into shit/ had the lock on my locker flipped and we ended up losing. I don't know why my expectations were so high because I knew the defense was just awful...
Never going to forget the "Go Green, Go White" chant echoing throughout the Big House... painful memories.
And that's even better. Lupe Fiasco is considered to be one of the most respectable rappers right now. A very humble person. Denard can be a good kid and listen to good rap music. Doesn't make any difference.
There really isn't much oppourtunity for hype videos when you have a coaching change... that really sucks.
Last season was pretty much my first season watching Michigan. Remember when all of you guys first saw "that" player? That was me with Denard. The first jersey I got was a #16 (which I'll probably regret eventually)
Also about the music- there's most likely something out there that can be hype music and represent a respectable person like Denard. I mean "All I care about is money" doesn't seem like a good representation of him. Tell your brother to listen to something like "That Ain't Classy" by Classified... that would have fit well.

In my school district (Which I am currently attending) They cut all 7th and 8th grade sports except for football, sideline cheerleading, and volleyball. They have to fundraise to keep even those sports.
I'm a younger fan, I grew up during all of Carr's years and was a fan because of my father. I started following the team in the 2009 season only to hear bad things. You can only imagine my thoughts at the 2010 season. I was amazed by Shoelace though, and ended up buying my first jersey (#16) last year. (I'll probably regret that buy (not because of Denard, because 16 won't be used much after this year))
I'm still in school and wear Wolverines gear every day I can. All the people I am friends with in real life and on Facebook know how obsessed I am. In the MSU week I talked more crap than I should have and had my lock on my locker flipped a ton. I went to the MSU game this year and it was thee biggest dissapointment of my entire life. I knew we probably shouldn't have won at all but I hyped myself up too much and now it's almost impossible for me to be excited about a game. Even the Wing's series against the Sharks this year struggled to raise my brow because I didn't want to be hurt so much (e.g. my body was not ready (I go on /sp/, I know))
Basically I've never seen a winning Michigan season- EVER
That being said, the awesome memories of brutal, hard hitting defenses and offenses pulling off miracles that you guys have are existent in my mind only through YouTube videos (Braylon Edwards vs. MSU video has over 200 plays by now, being my favorite game to ever look back at, I have a picture of the 1st or 2nd TD, the one where he jumps like 6 feet into the air to grab it, stapled onto my folder and carry it everywhere.)
I just really want to watch Michigan win. I know OSU is our biggest rival but seriously I want the Spartans shut up. I want to be confident in our team and talk some smack. Lets just win, please.

The account I'm on is negged to hell but this thread is valid to my interests. I wanted to go to the Lupe concert but nobody I knew would go with me. If you think hip-hop is dead you think wrong... there is so much undiscovered music that is just so so great. Jay Electronica is fantastic- as another poster said. I reccomend a small duo from Seattle called KnowMads, or Tom Pepe (a member of KM). Odd Future (Wolf Gang Kill Them All) has been busting my speakers for weeks on end now as well.
I mean guys this team has seen a lot and you all know how close our losses against the big guys have gone. We all know that this team will be very great in a couple years- but I'm not really sure- even if we are in the tournament- that we can really make it far.
Of course, the same was probably said about the Fab Five.
My dream is to attend Michigan (not just for athletic purposes, I want an education) to become a teacher or a doctor. I can't wait to be in the student section when I go there.
This year at the M-MSU footbal game I saw their wide receiver wide open on the goal line when they ran that stupid reverse play and threw some pom-pom thing on a stick at the Spartan behind me. The guy started yelling at me (a teenager) and the older man next to me (obviously a huge Michigan fan- he could see how down I was about the game) told the Spartan to shut his mouth. I was eternally grateful.
I've always told my dad (the biggest fan I know) that he is so very lucky to have seen the entire era of Bo. I hope one day my kids will say I was so lucky to have been able to watch the entire Hoke era.
I have watched the entirety of most "Great" Michigan games. When some Sparty argues with me about their school I will almost always bring up the 1991 (?) game where the MSU DB jumped on Desmond Howard. That picture, that play is one of my favorites because:
1. Charles Woodson is awesome
and
2. It's just a play that State WOULD make. Throwing it out of bounds and having it intercepted.

I firmly beleive RichRod is going to start Forcier next game, just to throw everyone the hell off. The wings, players calling him out, the "All you need to know is I'm out" comment, all just to throw us for a freakin loop.
He's payed for his opinion, which is usually pretty good. Herbstreit has been more supportive towards us than I thought he would be. Although he doesn't seem biased, I beleive he subconciously is, from the concussion we gave him.
I was at the game, right by the end zone where he was hurt. He was held for a couple seconds and then after the throw somebody from Buffalo rolled over him. It was a huge hit.
I watched some Tennessee videos when I was bored earlier. My dad grew up an M fan and my grandpa grew up a Vols fan. So it was cool to be connected to another program. Not bad though. Nobody can select music like Wolverines though.
Personally, I like Nike uniforms a lot more. I liked Michigan's Nike unis a lot more than Adidas now. I do feel that the game should STAY maize and blue and scarlet and gray. Our uniforms/helmets are legendary, don't change a thing. About Alabama, that's okay. He was one of the greatest of all time to me. With the likes of Bo, Bowden, Paterno, Saban, Yost, and dare I say it here, Woody.
Yeah, why would having a toy gun around turn somebody into thugs? I mean, the only "thugs" (They like to call themselves that, just let them be) I know like that are players from that school in East Lansing.
I don't know the meaning of the phrase, but the only oppourtunity I ever have to go to games is when my dad's friend, who used to live here, but now works in Kansas, gives us the tickets. Only so many oppourtunities I have to go to the games, but I cherish them! Anyway, hopefully my few Big House memories have changed the outlook of somebody about people giving away tickets. Also, if what I said doesn't apply to "Blue Hairs" then just disregard everything, and GO BLUE
Hmm.... what does gathering and burning everything in a downtown area remind me of... it's a city more east of Ann Arbor, I think it's the East part of a city... who knows.
Anyway I haven't been following high school football for a long time. If I head to the Stevenson- Ike game next week maybe I'll see you there (If it's @ Swinehart, if not then disregard this) I got Maize and Blue Nikes though, lol. Anyway, I'm going to sleep. Also, my dad played @ Sterling Heights when he went there, it's funny to hear how bad they were/are
I go to Shelby actually I almost played freshman this year. Too bad our guys won't be playing you, our school was really looking forward to it. Although it would have tore it apart. Anyway, our freshman team beat Ford 34-0 two days ago.
I heard that some guys from Ike spraypainted Dakota sucks at some places by the school. I'm actually going there next year too. Didn't play football this year, but I plan on JV and V eventually. GO EAGLES
I'm not really seeing why people like K. Smith on the Lions. I think it's clear Best has the spot locked down for good, but they said Smith would be used on occasion. Now, I never got to watch Barry, other than on YouTube, but what I have seen out of Best looked a LOT like it.
I get that it was really important for the city and blah blah blah but I personally hate them for putting so many dirty hits on Brett Farve in the NFC championship. I had really wanted the VIkings to go to the Superbowl, they're like my backup team (Lions fan)
