| 31 weeks 3 days ago | Golden handshake for Rush?? |
Anyone notice as Rush walked the sideline after the play, of the high five he got? Taking one of our best players out of the game last year and now targeting Denard this year would it suprise anyone of a bounty for Michigan stars. What a pathetic explanation by Gholston of his actions that led to his dirty plays. "Youthful inexperience", my butt!!! More pathetic was the lack of any meaningful acknowledgement coming out of the mouths of the two OSU announcers. Speilman, "Looked like some kind of a big time wrestling move." when Gholston tried to take Denards head off. |
| 35 weeks 1 day ago | Great Old UM footage |
I have pretty much all the Old Michigan Replay shows, starting with Larry Adderly, and UM top games on VCR from 1979 until the mid 90's. Any idea how long the rights of these are with the networks or how I could distribute these without getting in hotwater?? |
| 1 year 4 weeks ago | Visiting fans & Presidents Club |
They disperse the visiting fans around the very top of the stadium in sections 7 thru 9 or 10. My first year out of U of M, Paul Goebel (UM All-American and All-Pro) called me up and encouraged me to become a member of the Presidents Club. One of the best moves I ever made. If you are in need of tickets they will always find you a pair. I have had season tickets for longer than most of you are old, but if I need an extra set no problem. So how does one come up with 30K the first year after graduation? Buy a 20 year life insurance policy made out to the University of Michigan. At the time I took my policy out it was only a $250 annual premium. It will open many doors for you and get you started into the habit of annual gifting back to the University. Once that wonderful degree, you have attained from UM, starts producing the big bucks you can up your donations. Whether it be 10 years or 30 years until you feel comfortable to increase your contributions you have your self covered when the Alumni office calls you up asking for donations. In the meantime all your buddies will have thought you hit the lotto by becoming a member of the Presidents Club. GO BLUE |

At my age, long term is 3 years. Realistically, looking at our tough schedule and factoring in an improving team I see a total of at least 15 losses for 2011,2012, and 2013. This number includes any bowl games we may play in. How many of you are going to be satisified averaging 5 losses a year? With Nebraska added I would hope DB would think about getting out of the ND game soon. GO BLUE |

Lloyd is the worst thing that ever happened to Michigan FB! |
| 1 year 18 weeks ago | LC |
I could write a short story on how we got to this point in time starting at NMU when Lloyd was an English major. Lloyd should have never got a chance to be HC. He was DC of the worst defense we ever had and is named interim HC. DB was endorsed by Lloyd for the AD job so you knew he was going to be loyal to LC and hire Hoke, just as LC was loyal to Gary and has blocked Les from ever getting an offer to coach at UM. |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | I don;t know if I totally agree with you |
I don't know if I totally agree about LM being the main man in your theory but I really like your point about JH being a future hire. JH goes to the pro's and gets canned or burnt out dealing with the pro players, by that time Les Miles has got the program back on track and is ready to retire. JH can come back and doesn't have to go through the rebuilding phase and is able to reap the rewards of LM's hard work. He has made the big bucks, satisfied his urge to coach in the NFL, and finishes off his coaching career in AA with a few NC's. GOBLUE!! |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | If my memory is correct |
If my memory is correct I recall that his original contract at LSU had an exclusion for U of M should he want to return to AA. Obviously, he didn't care if he ever returned to UM after the sailboat incident or didn't have the leverage to place that language in his contract extention. Having a buy out exclusion for a specific school is not that unusual. |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | Buyout clause? |
Surprised that there is a buyout. Would have thought Les would have had language in contract if he jumped to UM. |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | If JH stays at Stanford, UM keeps RR |
As I have stated previously, JH is the one who has been dictating the timeline here. I have total faith in DB that he has all the bases covered. He has left all his options open by waiting until after the bowl game. I feel much more comfortable with DB at the helm than I did with the Bean Counter. We should not be totally distraught if JH stays at Stanford for one more year. We still have a chance to get him after next season as long as we don't fire RR. We know for sure that if RR is retained there will be major changes on the D staff. This will show that the evaluation process was not totally fruitless. Why does JH stay one more year at Stanford? Timing. Why disrupt the family right now with a newborn, Luck comes back he has a shot a National Championship, potential NFL lockout next year means he sits and has wasted a year not coaching if he choose that route, and maybe Jim has just a bit of resentment for some at Michigan and will not jump at the first chance to come back. Bottomline his value will not be any less next year and he will have an immediate chance to even enhance it with a National Championship. Just speculation from and old UM Man. |
