In other words, turn off

In other words, turn off critical thought and just deck your room out with maize and blue sheets comforters like you, right?

He would fit in better with

He would fit in better with Miami.

Oh fuck that.
Go look at the

Oh fuck that.

Go look at the comments (MLive/Freep/Daily) on any Brandon article. Listen to discussions about him at parties where the guests are not old elites. He is deeply disliked in many circles because of his ACTIONS. It has little to do with the pathos of the MGoBoard.

Yes and it's amazing that

Yes and it's amazing that more don't know that Martin was the one who drove the money and planning for the basketball facilities. Probably because Brandon enjoys people mistakenly thinking it was him.

Really, the timing to get this AD position, do a bad job and not get blamed too much couldn't have been more perfect for DB. He got to put his face on re-dedications to Michigan Stadium and Crisler, neither of which he raised a dime for.

You know money has nothing to

You know money has nothing to do with Michigan not winning much in recent years, right? You have seen the lists where Michigan is always in the top 3 in revenue, haven't you? Michigan is telling its fans "this is what you need to compete today!" They have that very thing in spades and then go out and defy their very message on the field while they keep asking for more. You don't see why people find this fundamentally offensive?

No.
He could have given that

No.

He could have given that money to a much more worthy cause than having his name on the offensive coordinator's position. This guy and the Harrises are narcissists.

If I hear arms race one more

If I hear arms race one more time I'm gonna snap.

Michigan football is rolling in money and the football team hasn't been good for a while. It's not all about cash. Competent leadership is mandatory. We don't have it in the AD office and might not have it in the head coaching position either (that one will become more clear after this year).

It's one thing to put a

It's one thing to put a person's name on a building. It's quite another to put their name on another person.

Brandon knows he has pissed

Brandon knows he has pissed off middle-aged and young fans, so he is moving all in on making the blue hairs feel as important as possible. It's like that old quote from a former president: "Some call you the elites. I call you my base."

People know that anyone who

People know that anyone who looks like Ryan Gosling can be said to look like David Arquette as well, right? I find that hilarious about Gosling's rise as a sex symbol. He's a doppelganger with the cop from "Scream"/1-800-COLLECT guy/former WCW champion. Who I'm pretty sure most girls didn't think was hot.

You know things are bad when

You know things are bad when on a Michigan blog, Michigan is still getting associated with the arrogant/insecure character.

Penn State is almost worth

Penn State is almost worth $200 alone? They are still two years away from postseason eligibility. Outside of the lingering scandal stench, they will remain irrelevant a few more seasons.

So you value a football team

So you value a football team of whose success you have no direct control with over sound economic values and integral business practices.

Do you even have your own set of values and practices about things not related to sports? Seriously.

You don't seem to have much

You don't seem to have much of a life outside leaching on UM athletics. Others do.

So you think all times are

So you think all times are created equal? Interest in college football is dwindling with younger crowds. Just because Michigan sucked in '08 and '09 and still sold out doesn't mean they can with what might be only slightly better teams in 2014-2015.

Brandon should have been very

Brandon should have been very demanding behind the scenes for that not to take place. If he played his cards right, it's easy to see him influencing the decision to change before announcement. If he fought as hard as he could to do that and still failed, considering Michigan's influence, it says a lot about what the conference thinks of Brandon.

There is no way he looks good in any of it. Any logical person can read between the lines here.

I was generally surprised

I was generally surprised GRIII didn't make much of an impact here as a shot-blocker. Could be something he develops in the pros. Obviously has the hops for it.

College football is so

College football is so increasingly awful that "Hey, it's an arm race" feels like less of an excuse with each passing year. What's the end game?

The poster this is aimed at

The poster this is aimed at isn't aware of a whole lot.

Michigan is in "get bashed"

Michigan is in "get bashed" mode right now. Get used to it. Far more offensive is the overall humor. Just a lame piece.

Meh.
And that's generous.

Meh.

And that's generous.

We have two rivalry games

We have two rivalry games this year. Notre Dame cannot be seen as a serious rival anymore.

Don't know how much more

Don't know how much more mileage you can get my remiscing about a period to people who were not even born then.

Stop, child. Most people have

Stop, child. Most people have MSU as a more likely playoff participant than UM is to be 10-2, which some in this thread are predicting.

People actually visit TTB

People actually visit TTB now? Yikes.

People will be irate if we go

People will be irate if we go 8-4 with losses to MSU and OSU and Hoke is retained.

This is some of the most

This is some of the most blatant click-bait I've ever seen from ESPN. And that's saying a lot these days. They really need to stop acting like they are a news outlet.

That's never really been an

That's never really been an important fact to the crowd who thinks they can prescribe the best medicine for the league.

Yes, Brandon had so much to

Yes, Brandon had so much to do with the formation of the Big Ten Network and its cable coverage...

Creep creep creep creep

Creep creep creep creep

MSU has hotter girls than UM

MSU has hotter girls than UM but no by a huge margin. They are ridiculously overrated and their reputation pumped up by a fanbase that has had very little non-sporting bragging points throughout history.

Incredibly biased. Bradley is

Incredibly biased. Bradley is good. He is nowhere near world class, by any reasonable definition. Have you ever even seen guys like Xavi, Yaya Toure, Alonso and Ozil play?

Howard better than Neuer? Seriously, get the eff out of here. That is offensive ignorance.

Well, you probably won't see

Well, you probably won't see that match-up...

Is this safe? Could you

Is this safe? Could you imagine the criticism Tulane would get if they put him in the game and he got a bad concussion?

Brian clearly knows a lot

Brian clearly knows a lot about the game. It's a shame he wastes futball posts on an increasingly irrelevant entity like international play and the mediocre USMNT instead of European club play.

If you used "terrifying" in

If you used "terrifying" in any context aside from full sarcasm to describe a young person having the opportunity to earn millions of dollars playing a game, you either hate sports or (more likely) you're a sports fan living wrong.

"We need more bowl games..."

"We need more bowl games..." this is not a correct way to begin a sentence. It doesn't matter what words follow unless it's "to be eliminated."

In '96, Jason Kapsner was a

In '96, Jason Kapsner was a recruit on par with Mallett. Michigan didn't take a QB in '97 but people figured with Kaps, Dreisbach and Brady on the roster, Henson might have to wait until 2001 for the roster to clear out.

Literally no one thought that.

Even as someone who likes

Even as someone who likes Devin Garnder a lot - sorry, he hasn't been good enough to be a big boon to the "hyped" category if you want to throw him in there.

I define hype by what I have been reading online for years. You're telling me that Michigan fans WEREN'T collectively pissing their pants about McGuffie six years ago?

You're not going to waste

You're not going to waste your time because you have NOTHING.

Even if I concede Robinson to you, I didn't ask for a name. I asked for a list, like I provided. You can't do it.

You are a Walmart because you

You are a Walmart because you seem to be an exceptionally unsophisticated and likely uneducated person who - with no real self-awareness - pledges his heart and soul to the athletic teams at an elite university. To me, that is a Walmart fan. I don't care if Spartans use it. In some cases (not many, but some) it rings true.

I'm not pinning anything on either coaching regime here. If Kalis, Green, Morris and Pipkins all bust, it's not Hoke's fault that they didn't produce as high as their rankings. It is more fodder for rankings being overrated and more examples of fans making fools of themselves for taking them so seriously.

Denard did not come in with

Denard did not come in with anywhere NEAR the attention of Forcier as a recruit. He came in with hype into the 2010 season because of all the reports of his improvement.

Try again.

I have almost nothing but

I have almost nothing but great things to say about Michigan Men's Basketball, a program that actually gets results. Football, not so much these days.

Do you ever post anything intellectual about Michigan athletics or is it all just rah-rah Walmarting?

What 4 stars turned out great

What 4 stars turned out great that were even remotely close to Peppers in hype and whose hype was at the same level of the ones I listed (Turner, Forcier, McGuffie, Morris)? Answer me that and I'll concede cherry-picking. You can't produce that list.

Hell, if anything I was nice. I didn't even mention Carlos Brown!

Didn't call him a bust,

Didn't call him a bust, 'Mart. I stated widely held views about his short time at Michigan. It doesn't matter to the UM program what he did at Arkansas.

You seem to be struggling

You seem to be struggling mightily with this.

I brought up players in the last 10 years who were five stars or who had something that approached similar hype to Peppers.

I stated that very clearly before listing them alongside widely held opinions on their performances.

What is hard about this for you?

What part of last decade did

What part of last decade did you not get?

No I'm not. I listed every

No I'm not. I listed every five star. The only 4 stars I listed were McGuffie (hyped to the moon by fans because of the hurdling runs and because he was white), Forcier (who the largest spring game crowd ever came out to see in 2009) and Turner (almost a five-star and thought to be a sure thing).

I'm not blind. I'm looking

I'm not blind. I'm looking right at history and concluding that nothing is a sure thing.
