When you lose a game 1-0, you are not awarded a goal scored in the post-match results (US: 2, 2, 0; Ghana: 1, 2, 2)

From what I saw of the replay there was no "accidental boot to the head" -- Jones raked his foot over the Ghanian's skull. If you watch the altercation again without a pair of "The Refs Hate Us" glasses on, I'm pretty sure you will see the same.
If you honestly just want to become disentangled from another player there are much quicker ways than dragging your cleats all the way up a guy's back and over his head: such as just drawing your knees towards your chest. The (American) football equivalent to this is when you're in a pile and push yourself up but (oops!) you find that an opponent's head is between your hand and the ground; you push yourself up anyways.
These sorts of penalties are almost impossible to detect by a referee who has a whole game to watch. After all, the motion almost looks natural. So maybe Muntari deserved to be sent off, but frankly Jones deserved a yellow himself for essentially kicking a guy in the head, minus the kicking motion.
Overall I thought the ref called a poor game, but don't think for a second that Jones wasn't responsible for inciting a bit of rage from his opponent -- I'm sure that's exactly what he was trying to do.

Aren't they more like Harvard? The Crimson... what?
Edit: Ah I see that Cardinal actually refers to the color too. All this time I figured it was just the bird. Suddenly it makes more sense.

UofM v. Hopkins could turn into a pretty big deal for you Baltimore folk I suppose. :-)

Couldn't have been more on edge the entire game. I totally can't believe we won but there's nothing in my life that could make me happier than I am right now.
|5 years 13 weeks ago||Perceived Loudness||Great pull on the perceived loudness. This is something that physiologists and physicists study quite a bit, actually. The concept is simple: there's a finite amount of data that nerve impulses can actually carry. At some point, a sensory input will become overloaded and the brain will see the same signal--whether by amplitude or frequency of nerve firing--from bright and brighter or loud and louder. To an extent, this is a safety mechanism. This doesn't even get into attenuation. If you hear loud noises for an extended period of time... they won't sound loud anymore.|

What about interior linemen being shorter to provide the QB with a better field of vision? Not to mention decrease the chances that a low/sidearm pass ricochets off a (teammate's) helmet or flailing arm.
