I cannot recommend Brandon…

I cannot recommend Brandon Sanderson strongly enough for a fantasy author. I started with Warbreaker which he put on his website for free for people to see if they like his style. If you like that his masterpiece is the Stormlight Archive which are massively dense books. Mistborn has two series, an oldschool fantasy epic and the second a wild west mix with fantasy.

His work is incredible and he turns out books at a ludicrous pace. He also set the kickstarter all time funding record when he released four books he wrote over Covid.

Is Seth a Brandon Sanderson…

Is Seth a Brandon Sanderson fan? Out here RAFOing people I forgot what podcast I was listening to.

Outrageous! Next thing you…

Outrageous! Next thing you know they'll name the football building after him and have his statue up outside of it...

As someone else mentioned, it's tough for a lot of people, especially those closest to something like this, to separate their good memories from the bad things that happened. Michigan obviously has a similar issue with how they still hold on to Bo's complicated legacy.

So far his group has really…

So far his group has really been living on what Jay left him. Jay is the main reason Haskins, Corum, and Edwards are at Michigan and he got Charbonnet as well. Hart did great work getting Jordan Marshall, but that’s the first major recruiting win for Hart. I would argue his individual coaching hasn’t been that much different on field than Jay. His biggest accomplishments were probably with the Indiana RB room. I’m not complaining in any way about what Hart has done at Michigan, just saying it’s pretty tough to point to any area he really improved over Jay so far

My kid kicked me just right…

My kid kicked me just right in the testicles the night of the MSU game hard enough that I ended up in the ER because ol rightie swelled to twice the size of leftie and they were worried I'd lose it... nice to celebrate the Michigan win later at least...

If it is a meniscus injury I…

If it is a meniscus injury I don't think that would qualify as structural, but that's just my opinion. I am married to an orthapedic surgeon PA and have had a meniscus scope which they recommended a 4-6 week break before athletic activities again. Very very very different, but I pushed it and refereed a 16 boys state soccer final 3.5 weeks post surgery. I definitely wasn't 100%, but then again I am far far away from the quality athlete of someone like Corum.

The refs missed a lot both…

The refs missed a lot both ways all day, but come on we gotta admit they really missed this one. Loveland absolutely can't just straight up block the guy unless Gash catches the ball behind the line of scrimmage. That was absolutely a missed call.

The schedule that had been…

The schedule that had been release previously had Michigan playing at Minnesota next year FYI.

Unfortunately Dave Brandon…

Unfortunately Dave Brandon gave the contract for new scoreboards to a friend who saw his business and that technology go obsolete and out of business. So instead of an update they need completely new technology for the scoreboards.

Fuck You State. I believe it really started back when a couple MSU players took incredibly dirty cheap shots from behind on a Michigan hockey player in a game at Yost.

Edit: found a link the the incident. It was pretty disgusting.

Iowa is an amazing road trip…

Iowa is an amazing road trip. I was there in 2016 for the loss and everything but the result encapsulated the best part of a college football gameday experience. Amazing people, great atmosphere, tailgated in a big field with tons of Michigan fans and super nice Iowa fans.

Went to Indiana in 2006 and it was a ghost town. Miserable weather, fans who didn't really care, and a high school level stadium akin to Spartan Stadium. If you need to get there to check it off the list go for it, but you won't be impressed IMO.

I assume Rutgers would be pretty similar to Indiana, but I do still need to check that off the list...

Humble brag supreme! That's…

Humble brag supreme! That's a strong 8! Hope you're playing as much as you want in these times.

Fair enough, I'm just salty about losing a 21 day streak

Why in the world does a day…

Why in the world does a day end at 11 pm instead of midnight? Missed playing "yesterday" by 20 minutes. Thought I was great for remembering to log in before midnight...

Can't tell if you're serious…

Can't tell if you're serious. I've only heard him on MSU football and he is the worst announcer I've ever listened to.

"If you’re going to bring a…

"If you’re going to bring a program to elite status, it doesn’t take 6-7 years. It just doesn’t."

I guess Dabo at Clemson just doesn't apply here?

What kind of hikes are you…

What kind of hikes are you looking for? Lots of different levels you can find.

Regardless of that the high line trail is an absolute must do. Start from the top and hike down the trail back to the going to the sun road. Then catch a bus back to the top. Spectacular views out over the mountain edges that you’ll never regret. The small side trail off to the garden wall is an absolute must to look out over the other side of the mountain range and down onto some great glaciers.

Played soccer

With Ryan a long time ago now.

FHN class of '04. Small world, a shame it took a tragedy like this to find out how many FHN grads are on here.

Remaining Targets

Is Connor Murphy still a potential add for this class? Seems highly rated, heard plenty of stories about him early, and 24/7 still seems to like our chances. Anyone know what the story is with him right now?

Strong Start

Heck of a start by Barca. This might not be much of a game by the second half.

Over under on Cautions to Juve this game at 6?

You mean just like everything You mean just like everything Bo could claim Woody could claim? Not exactly the same bit it was the first thing I thought of...

Upset Beilein

Watching with no volume, does anyone know why he got so upset with 4 minutes left in the game?

Well played

Another example of why you are one of my favorite posters

difference today our d wasn't good enough that we could sit our starters the whole second half.
Michigan 38-20

Michigan victory

55-6 Michigan

Go blue

Except maybe he does have some influence

http://www.michigandaily.com/sports/loneliest-number-how-five-men-made-jersey-tradition?page=0,12

Stan sets the story straight real quick. When Braylon established the $500,000 scholarship fund for receivers to carry on the No. 1 tradition, it was the school that brought it to him in writing: you will be consulted on who gets to wear the jersey.

Go Blue

24-13 Michigan

Woodson

Just a beast, crazy to see him and Countess next to each other and see the size difference.

Go Blue

41-13 Michigan

Lewan

I read the comments about the Lewan pronounciation before listening and thought it couldn't really be that bad....but seriously it distracted me from the analysis and made me keep fighting to not think of Brian as another teams commentator talking about Michigan.

For all the crap Brian gives other people for not knowing what they are talking about this was pretty embarrasing

Fine

Then who should we target this year? Can you name one more proven option than Gallon? No, alright cool man. Yeah if we had David Terrell, Braylon Edwards, and Jason Avant ready to roll out I wouldn't want Dileo getting major targets either! But look who we do have.

And while we're at it

Why the hell would anyone want a bum like Wes Welker! Slower and smaller than Calvin Johnson what is the point of even walking him out on the field!

What a win

Love to see Altidore rounding into form and some promissing performances from young players

Worst Meyer Comparison

Ramzy says if Meyer was an accountant, left a job under dubious circumstances, then got a new job, no one would hold those against him like they are now holding his actions in Gainsville against him.

Yes they would! That kills me. His analogy is saying basically if he cooked the books at a past company, then left and got a job somewhere else, no one would care that he cooked the books at that last place, just don't do it again here. Just a terrible analogy that I wanted to complain about for no real reason.

Back Home

Didn't he actually end up flying back home, seeing that nothing had really changed, and then fly back up to Michigan? At least thats the way I remember it from the BO book.

Refs

I don't know about football or basketball, but the Big Ten actually does still allow coaches to ban certain refs in other sports. I am a soccer ref and have a friend who is banned from doing MSU games just because the coaches don't like him.

Conflicting reports

Stan sets the story straight real quick. When Braylon established the $500,000 scholarship fund for receivers to carry on the No. 1 tradition, it was the school that brought it to him in writing: you will be consulted on who gets to wear the jersey.

Also, Brandon Graham earned the scholarship one year so it does not have to go to a WR.

http://braylonedwards.com/media/braylon-edwards-no-1-should-go-to-u-m-game-changer/

Here is another relevant quote from this artivle,

“He was asking me about the number,” Edwards said of Hoke. “I said, ‘You know, coach, for the No. 1 jersey, everyone looks to me, but at the end of the day, it’s on you. You feel like someone deserves to wear the number, you feel comfortable, you have my blessing to give it to whoever you want.’”

So basically you won't be able to find a complete answer to this question.
American Outlaws

The supporters section typically buys the enline tickets and they had so much demand for this game that I believe they took both endlines and are creeping in on the sidelines.

costco if you have a membership they have great deals. in ten years ive bought two laptops, spent $500 a piece (and they actually refunded me the price of one because after three years the charger broke) and never had any real problems with them. plus their support/warranty is phenomenal
Valid Points

I referee soccer on a fairly high level and have had the opportunity to ref at regional and national level tournaments. There is a progression to qualify for each level and there are specific policies in place to keep situations like this from happening. In the state level you typically avoid teams you have seen before once you reach the semi-final/final round. At the regional level you are not allowed to ref a team from your home state. At the national level you cannot ref anyone from your region.

You would think the NCAA would have a similar policy here, not that I doubt the ref's integrity in any way, I just think you have a point about anticipating plays based on their experiences with UL which could have affected a couple calls.

Just seems like another bad NCAA policy I guess...

Analysts

No media guy has given us any credit. I love seeing these guys proving everyone wrong!!!

Nike Mistakes

So can we all admit that Nike had/has some terrible designs as well and it isn't as simple as switching between the two (or a third like under armor) to get consistently good unis?

Seniors

Seeing the seniors was just the greatest moment. I love rewarding seniors on days like this!
