|1 day 11 hours ago||That's why we need a pro||
That's why we need a pro style coach. No need to destroy everything and build back up when we have done that the last two coaching cycles.
|1 day 12 hours ago||Should be very easy for a||
Should be very easy for a coach to come in and win right away. We lose Frank Clark and Brennan Beyer on defense and we plug in Jabrill Peppers for Taylor and Desmond Morgan for Jake Ryan. The offense will lose Gardner but Malzone, Speight, or Morris can't be any worse or can they? Also you have the big ten factor where a few coaching improvements could lead to wins over Maryland, Rutgers etc. and get up to 9-10 wins. If Funchess comes back that will help.
|1 day 12 hours ago||This Hoke vs. RR thing is so||
This Hoke vs. RR thing is so old and tiresome. They both sucked. Lloyd and others should have supported the program better. BM should have payed better for cordinators. RR should have had a better defense even without Casteel. His offense should have performed better in big games. His 2011 team wasn't winning more than 8 games without a DC change.

Doesn't matter. The refs, players, and coaches sucked saturday.
|1 day 13 hours ago||I never understand why people||
I never understand why people like insulting the coach by calling them Dick Rod or Fred Flintstone. It's Dave Brandon's fault for hiring Hoke and he's well liked so why do we have to be massive dicks about him and attack him personally.
|1 day 23 hours ago||Let me mention the advantages||
Let me mention the advantages of Michigan over Mississippi State. Our facilities are better, we have more money, recruiting is easier which is why I mentioned recruiting rankings. We may not get him but yes Michigan is a step up from Mississippi State. Florida is a step up from Mississippi State. They are the Iowa of the SEC who is always going to be behind Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M, and Auburn. We may not get him but we have not become Purdue where we can only get .500 career head coaches and random cordinators. I'm sorry if you think that's arrogance, but thank god you're not AD because we need to what's best for the program and get somewhat respectable for head coach and not Bob Stitt because hey Michigan is now a MAC level program about to hire Craig Creighton because hey we can't do any better than that.

ESPN3 for some reason
|2 days 1 hour ago||Yeah I'm not sure what he's||
Yeah I'm not sure what he's supposed to say. No AD anywhere is going to say their coach fucking sucks even if they plan to fire him. As long as he plans on firing him, I think that it's good that he isn't a Brandon dick to his employees where no prospective coach wants to work for him.
|2 days 1 hour ago||I think that Schlissel has||
I think that Schlissel has really messed up if we really haven't started looking for an AD yet. That should have been priority # 1 a month ago. If we haven't started looking you might as well make Hackett the AD because no head coach isn't going to want to work for a university when he doesn't know the AD. We may have made a mistake in hiring someone from a university without a major sports program and should have looked at Duke, Stanford, or Vanderbilt for a president.
|2 days 1 hour ago||I didn't see too much I||
I didn't see too much I didn't like. He's not going to throw Hoke under the bus. You'd lose respect from potential football coaches if he did that. I expect next week to hear the "Brady is a great man who did a lot for Michigan but he wasn't happy with the job he did and expressed to me that he thought it was best that he step down."
|2 days 1 hour ago||Carroll and Saban had success||
Carroll and Saban had success at other stops prior to being a failed head coach. We're also not Bowling Green or Stanford pre Harbaugh. Most big time programs don't take chances like hiring an OC or DC with no prior head coaching experience. Our current slide in football is based on us taking chances and not backing up the brinks truck for the sure thing. Alabama had a worse record than us from 2000 to 2007 and were able to get Saban who won 2 national titles prior to getting the gig.
|2 days 2 hours ago||The point is that he wouldn't||
The point is that he wouldn't say no at a certain point. Once you get to around Urban Meyer's current contract he'd say yes. Maybe you'd overpay a tad but it's better than hiring a no name and messing up again. That would be terribly financially.
|2 days 3 hours ago||It depends on what you mean||
It depends on what you mean by not considering. Yes Saban's not going to come here. I doubt that Harbaugh's going to come here. What makes you think Mullen who plays in a stadium half the size of our stadium, way worse recruiting rankings, less tradition, worse facilities isn't going to come here. They may never have another year like this one and go back to being 2nd fiddle to LSU, Bama, Auburn, Texas A&M. Graham has jumped at every oppotunity so why wouldn't he jump to Michigan where he could upgrade each of those 4 things I mentioned. This is what I'm talking about with blind pessism. People think we've become Purdue and we should be happy with Wisconsin's DC instead of demanding excellence and using money and our advantages to get who we want.
|2 days 3 hours ago||This is going to go terribly.||
This is going to go terribly. I have no idea what happened last time but there is 0 percent chance he's going to come here, 0 percent chance we offer him, and 0 percent chance that this is a good idea. Imagine that he did come here and failed again. That's like if we lost App State # 2.
|2 days 3 hours ago||Yes but Alabama sucked from||
Yes but Alabama sucked from 2000 to 2007 and they were able to get Nick Saban. Florida was terrible and they were able to get Urban Meyer. USC ditto and they were able to get Pete Carroll. I know people are depressed but looking at this objectively if those schools were able to pull off those hires then why can't we? If we're hiring some cordinator that's only been at a school for 2 years then it's the ADs fault not our program's fault.
|2 days 4 hours ago||but Arkansas actually looks||
but Arkansas actually looks like they're on the right track. He won 3 big ten titles at Wisconsin and now they look like they're on their way back to being Bobby Petrino's Arkansas. I would love to have a 1.5 year transition vs. the 3-4 year transitions that never materialized with RR and Hoke. He may be an ass and people like to make fun of him but he can coach.
|2 days 4 hours ago||It's the self loathing that||
It's the self loathing that goes on where people can't seperate team and program. Michigan has a bad team but not a bad program because of Yost, Schembechler etc. just like Bama in 06 had a bad team but not a bad program because of Bear Bryant etc. If you can't get a proven head coach and have to resort to a cordinator who's not even Kirby Smart or John Chavis level then somethings wrong with your AD.

There's one guy who's as close to a sure thing as can be who'll reportedly be looking for a job in a month.
|2 days 4 hours ago||Florida didn't take a flyer||
Florida didn't take a flyer on Urban Meyer. Alabama didn't take a flyer on Nick Saban. Sure whoever we hire could turn out wrong but at Michigan your job is to get the Mullens, McElwains, Grahams, or Pattersons of the world. As an AD you need to understand this. We've already tried getting Hoke out of SDSU with a below .500 record. The last thing we need is another mediocre head coach/cordinator coming in. If Mullen says no then keep uping the money until he says yes. The results of hiring someone unproven are worse financially then overpaying someone now.
|2 days 5 hours ago||He did pretty well with||
He did pretty well with Stanton and Keith Price. Generally people have unrealistic expectations for someone to come in to one of the worst offenses in the country losing their top two OL members and make it anything less than shit in one year.
|2 days 5 hours ago||It ain't the OC, it's the||
It ain't the OC, it's the players and the head coach. We knew this when we lost Lewan/schofield. Nussmeier has had good offenses everywhere else he's been.
|3 days 9 hours ago||The 100,000 streak is what's||
The 100,000 streak is what's great about Michigan. It's paid attendance like 90 percent of other colleges report. There's probably 55K at MSU's game today and they'll report something like 72K.

|3 days 18 hours ago||You don't have to love||
You don't have to love everything about the team right now although I'm always excited to be in the stadium whether we're 0-12 or 12-0 but with high school prices we have a duty to show up to senior day. The last thing we want is 20,000 empty seats for rival fans to poke fun at.

|3 days 22 hours ago||I would assume so. The only||
I would assume so. The only other job I can think of is Minnesota or possibly BC. At Michigan you get facilities, money, the US development team across the street Ontario to recruit etc. Michigan is a step up from Michigan Tech, Union, and Umass Lowell so we have to be able to get one of them to jump. I feel confident that we'd be able to get Pearson or Bennett which I'm not really in regards to our football candidates.

1. Pearson 2. Bennett 3. Bazin There's no reason that it should go past # 3 since our hockey job is probably the best college hockey job in America.
