Wu Ting Fang ain't nothin to fuck with.

Dear Dan Dakich,

This is why we didn't like Dave Brandon. Sorry Brian couldn't list all this stuff off the top of his head in a 10 minute radio interview.

Because he's a knowledgeable commentator with a good understanding of the situation who regularly appears on radio and TV?

First snap of the game - Michigan is in the nickel with Peppers offscreen to the bottom, with Bolden and Ryan as the LB's. (Right click - view image to see full-size)

Argh, turn your phone sideways dude!

I think it's a good sign I can't name half of those guys anymore.

Local Club

If you're interested in a little local flavor, you should check out some Detroit City FC games this summer. They play at Cass Tech, draw about a couple thousand people per game, and the atmosphere is incredible (singing and chanting for the entire 90 minutes, tifos/flags/banners, smoke bombs, etc.) The team is also very good - made up mostly of current and former local college players including a bunch from UM.

The season starts on May 10th and there is a pre-season exhibition vs. SVSU this Saturday at Hurley Field in Berkley (6 pm, $5)

My favorite has to be the "Shootin' Dice" @ 1:30

-

It would mark the end of the "Brady Hoke Pointing at Things" phenomenon, what with his fingers being amputated due to frostbite and such.

-

When they came for the ones who burned couches, I did not speak out because I was not a couch burner.

All bros, brahs, and bruhs deserve to get kicked in the face at least once in their lives.

Good point. Also, Auburn's offense is basically a handful of power running plays run from the shotgun and pistol. Some people just can't wrap their heads around the fact that "Spread" doesn't necessarily mean having small, quick, finesse players.

-

Just call up Dave Brandon and have him bail you out.

-

Yawn. He needs to learn proper trash talk technique from Terry Glenn or David Boston.

-

As would mine.

MANBALL!!! Oh wait, that hasn't worked at all.

-

I'd love to see a UFR of the 1997 PSU game - possibly the most comprehensive victory that I've ever seen.

-

Whoever downvoted this post can go smell some ass.

-

This sounds like another one of Dave Brandon's trial balloons. The info was leaked, people will freak out, then he will secretly cancel the idea a week later and scold us all for making a big deal out of mere rumors.

-

Mainly in low population areas (some parts of the Upper Peninsula do it), you have small high school classes and small football teams, necessitating the playing of 8 or 6 on the field.

-

Not to mention less than 10 seconds on the play clock.

-

Hoke: "Nuh uh"

Nebraska defender: "Yuh huh"

Hoke: "Nuh uh"

Nebraska defender: "Is so"

Hoke: "Is not"

Nebraska defender: "Is too"

Hoke: "I know you are but what am I?"

My god that was epic.

So what you're saying is that Michigan's offense needs phase modulators to constantly cycle frequencies and prevent the defense from adapting.

That's nearly identical to my experience. I remember seeing bits and pieces of Biakabutuka's 313 and the 1996 upset in the Shoe but the first game I sat down and watched all the way through was the 97 opener when I was 10. I've watched close to every single game since then so I don't really give two shits about someone who tells me I can't be a fan because I didn't go to school in AA.

I had something like this recently. Malware Bytes cleaned it up nicely.

Can't find a video of it but I still think that Epstein's FG at the end of the 2000 game was good.

-

Argghhhhhhh, I'd forgotten about the pass play where A.J. Williams got toasted and Lewan and Schofield were both lined up on the right side of the line. WTF was that?!?!?!

-

Seriously. Some of his throws weren't dead-on/in-stride but the announcers were still criticizing him when he was something like 13 of 16.

Huh

How would PEDs help you read defenses and make good decisions and super-accurate throws?

-

I was at that one as well. At that time 7-5 seemed like the worst thing that could ever happen. Ick.

-

This is a really interesting idea. On the flip side though, if one of those guys on the return team is paying attention and fields the short punt, he might only have to beat the punter to take it back to the house.

-

I went to a Tigers game about 10 years ago and sat on the 1st base line behind the opposing dugout - in this instance the Yankees. Some tools in front of us were getting plastered and heckling the players. Eventually Derek Jeter and one of these guys got into a shouting match that lasted about a minute. Really surreal to see a pro athlete actually responding to something like that.

Didn't he mention he'd been working on this for 2 months? Really?

-

They obviously didn't get the memo from Mike Valenti that recruiting doesn't matter at all.

-

Because that is their championship game that they spend all year preparing for.

Anyone know what was up with the play they ran a couple times where Lewan pulled to the right and just looked kinda lost? What exactly was supposed to happen there?

Awesome

Really cool, but my all-time favorite is still the Monty Python and the Holy Grail one:
