Date Title Body
Boeheim

Boeheim staked his career on Fines innocence and many of us, including myself, doubted this kids story. Unlike Penn State though, Boeheim doesn't appear to have had any knowledge of this.

AU Blog

Can you provide us with a good blog for AU football? Congrats on your new coach. Hope he kicks ass in the PAC 12.

If you remember

the only pressure Michigan got against Western was blitzing. The DL was ineffective. Over the course of the season the improvement up front has been outstanding.

I usually

stream from www.justin.tv. Occasionally it will not allow a stream due to excessive amount of overseas streams but if you close it then reopen it it is normally fine.

It's simple

Michigan has to win out and Sparty needs to lose again. If both win out Sparty gets the nod basedon head to head.

31-19

There is no way in hell Michigan loses this game. I have not been this confident since Bo was coaching.

Book It

Michigan 31-19

posted from iPhone

Ohio is staggerred after losing at home to lil bro and will get knocked down tonight in Lincoln. By the time we get to them their grave will be dug and we will seal it. They are a skel. A weakened yet still arrogant program that will be fortunate to finish above .500.

I hope Meyer does go to

I hope Meyer does go to Columbus. It will be nice to see Brady send him into permanent retirement in less then 5 years. Meyer rode Tebow's back to success, not the countless thugs he recruited and played.

I was at

I was at that game. It is the last game under 100,000 I believe. Freezing cold in a downpour against NU and it still drew 96,000 b

Perfection?

No. 3 silly penalties including one that negates a TD. Kck coverage needs work. IMO you dont show the gadgets before you need to. No reason to give NW or little brother a chance to plan.

A very solid performance but not perfect.

Shotgun

Denard is struggling under center with his footwork in dropping back, setting his feet and throwing. IMO Borges should let him operate from the shotgun spread. Whether running or throwing the offense moves much better in this set. It's quite easy to see that Denard is much more comfortable in the shotgun.

Good, Bad and Ugly

Good: Defense, particularly the passing defense. For the first time in long time I thought the front four got good pressure. The secondary played real well against the best QB M sees this season. Lindley will be on an NFL roster next season. Thought the Special Teams played a lot better today. Wile reached the end zone on kickoffs and had some nice punts.

Bad: Denard's passing. He was throwing more on a line this week but overthrowing the receivers.

Ugly: The 3rd quarter. 3 turn overs and a missed FG. This team can't rely on the defense to bail them out the way it did today in conference play. Ball security. I am sure Brady will be coaching them up on tuckibg the ball away when the hit is coming. As for Gibbons, atleast the kick was close.

MSU

was horrible yesterday.

Although

I think it's too early to be ranked, I suspect Michigan will hang between 20-30 this year.

As for the Aztecs, I am concerned with that game but not because the Wolverines wont be ready, but this could be the best QB we face this year.

EMU would have been the trap game.

Whats Amaizing

Is the offensive line being versatile enough to run both. I think Borges is doing a nice job mixing the offense instead of forcing his system down these kids throats like we saw with RichRod.

Fool em once

What is Sparty doing?? Everyone saw that coming.

Could be

a hyperextension perhaps? Wish him well soon whatever it is.

Actually

It's 21-10. But Sparty is driving.

92 yards

92 yards in 10 plays and 5 minutes. Impressive

As smart as Mayock is

he needs to learn the ref signals lol

Defense

Keep in mind the defense has had to be taught fundamentals. GRob and Rich Rod did a horrible job with the defense. I think they have improved tremendously from last year and are getting better each game. The in game adjustments have been excellent along with the lack of penalties. The most notable observation I have is that after 3 years of hoping for a big play from the defense, I wonder where is the next one coming from.

Gray

It's hard to believe that Brian Kelley cant find a better CB then Gary Gray.

Total Yards

I believe half of that was in the first quarter.

Classic

This will rival AC's 41 yard catch to beat Indiana on the last play of the game as the best finish in a Michigan game. I was at that game but watched this on the big screen and can say that both AC catch and run and the final drive tonight are the most exciting Michigan moments I have seen.

WOW! I have never seen 3 tds in the final 1:12 Simply amaizein.

Adjustments

Your Dad is right. There were several times I remember they came out flat in the first half but Bo worked his half time magic and it was a different team in the second half.

It was refreshing to see the defense adjust so quickly instead of staying stuck in the mud like they were under Rich Rod.

Orange Bowl Game

The score was 14-7. I remember it well. NBC had Ufer do the play by pay for one half. Unfortunately the world did not get to experience Ufer when he is excited because the OU defense, led by brothers Leroy and Dewey Selmon, shut Michigan down.

RIP

Shotgun

Henne prefers snaps from under center. He has stated he has trouble seeing the safety coverage in the shotgun.

It's amazing

to me how many delusional media members feel that Tressel resigning has stopped the problem. I heard an interview with Bobby Carpenter this afternoon and he claimed that the players being suspended and Tressel resigning was enough punishment. Colin Cowherd was in full agreement but neither seem to realize that if the compliance department was doing their job, this would never have snowballed into what it as become. The NCAA relies on Universities to police themselves and this is a solid example of a university that only cared about the bottom line, not how the program was run.

As Much

As much as I would like to see OSU get hammered, I don't have much faith in the NCAA which is responding erratically to recent allegations at different institutions. I would not be at all surprised if they deem OSU's punishment as fitting to the crime just as they bought in to Cam Newton's claim that he didn't know about the $180,000.

Great post Brian. I hope

Great post Brian. I hope everyone clicked on the link for the Iowa play. It clearly showed how their OL pushed Michigan at the point of attack, a problem the defense experienced repeatedly in Big 10 play.

WCO

A WCO can take several years for NFL QBs to grasp it. What you will see is a very toned down version to suit DRobs game. This is the same approach RR should have used instead of forcing it on Threatt. Concerns with DRob reading defenses correctly are real. He is not a mobile QB he is a RB that can throw. What advantage they have on offense is the OL is familiar with blocking power formations anx they have numerous playmakers. Happy as hell to hear the defense will line up 4 with their hand in the dirt. They do have a very good DL that surprisingly got decent pressure with 3 guys. What killed the defense last season was not just the secondary but all to often they only rushed 3 and tried to use umbrella coverage but QBs given a lot of time can kill you. No reason they cant qualify for a bowl from year 1 but I'll give it 3 years before they are competing for the Big 10 title. Without a doubt you'll see improvement on the defensive side as the conference schedule unfolds next year.

Rich is as classy as he is

Rich is as classy as he is stubborn. Had he focused on the defense and handled the offensive transition in the way Hoke appears to be, he would still be at Michigan. He lost alot of support when he tried to force his offense on Steven Threatt and ignored the defense. Having Robinson as DC certainly didn't help his cause either.

I wish Rich the best of luck in his next stop and am thankful that he won't have the messy divorce from Michigan that he had from WVU.
