haha. Yeah, I'll ask around a bit too and see if I can get some more tips from some friends. I'll circle back if I get anything of use.

Looks like the designated…

Looks like the designated ride-share area is the southeast corner of the stadium. (Rosemont and Seco) which is right there by stadium. I'm not exactly sure what streets are closed going IN the stadium after the game, (since they make some of the roads outbound only), but if you can meet an Uber at like Rosemont and Orange Grove, that might work. That's probably a mile walk from the stadium. Or east of the stadium towards Pasadena. I'm guessing you could probably get Uber after 20-30 walk.

But again, I'm just unfamiliar with ride-share out of there. Maybe the wait for it goes fast? I doubt it. I do feel confident if you're an Uber at any point by 6, you'll make your flight. You can get to Burbank at 8pm and be fine. But also not sure you can get to one by 6. I'll be curious to read what other locals have to say...

I live in Highland Park, a stone’s throw from RB, and I’ll say when you get out of the neighborhood and side streets near the stadium and to the freeway, traffic will be fine. Once on the freeway, it’ll take you 20. Even on a non-holiday, that drive isn’t that bad. But on NYD, should be smooth. And Burbank airport is small and I’ve never not been able to get there and be at the gate in minutes.

I would definitely Uber/Lyft to the stadium.

The big problem….I’ll agree with the posts above, when the game is over getting TO a car and out of the area will be the trouble spot. That can be brutal. I’m GUESSING that if you split right when game ends, it’s possible. It’d be tight. I’ve never taken an Uber/Lyft out of there, (last couple of times I went to event/game at Rose Bowl I rode my bike lol), so not sure how that process works. Guessing a lot depends on that. I’ll be curious if anyone on here has taken ride share out of there.

Yost Zamboni Driver

This was a fun read. I worked and drove the Z at Yost while I was a student from '88 to '92. (Mark Renfrew, Al's son, ran the operations there back then.) Great memories working there. I've posted about this on here before, (the rare times I post), but it was a pretty great time to be there. When I was a freshman they'd have about 1,500 fans at a game. Save Lake St./MSU which usually filled up.

The place changed quite a bit physically over that time. The bleacher seats were yellow and me and former captain Don Stone and wrestler John Fisher spent half a summer painting them navy blue. They put in new glass, etc...put some money into fixing it up.

By the time I graduated, Red had it rolling. The place was on the verge of becoming the monster that it became in the time period Adam writes about here.  I didn't go to many games in this window of time though my Dad had season tickets. But that place was amazing then. What a blast. Thanks for the post, Adam. Great stuff.

Ha! Well good seeing you on

Ha! Well good seeing you on here, man. Yeah, I'm on FB (temporarily). I deactivate my account frequently cuz...well, you know...state of the world, etc lol

I'm in LA. Aren't you in Cali too?

I actually quit football

I actually quit football after JV. We had pretty good class. I sat on the bench. But yeah, '88 was cool. They made it to class B semis...even though we were literally only a handful of kids over enrollment from bring a class C school.

Nice to see a fellow TVCer on here!

Ha. Yeah. Posting on message

Ha. Yeah. Posting on message boards not high on my priority list. More of an occasional stalker. Work, kids, blah blah blah

Is this Chris?
It's Nipper.

Is this Chris?

It's Nipper. Lol

I'm from Frankenmuth too.

I'm from Frankenmuth too. Class of '88.

Wonder if we have more guys per capita on this board from 'Muth than other towns.

Thanks for the info...Go Eagles and Go Blue.

oops...I meant guy in the #9

oops...I meant guy in the #9 jersey was the former UM QB. #32 is good at EA NCAA football.

Yep. He killed it too. Good

Yep. He killed it too. Good dude to work with.

Yep...I'm the guy in the #4

Yep...I'm the guy in the #4 jersey. Matt Letscher and I were theatre majors at UM back in '88-'92. Matt's brother Brian, the big guy wearing #32 was a walk-on/then earned schollie as a QB. He earned 3 letters under Moeller..'91-'94.

One of our producers was also a UM grad. We shot most of the show out here in LA, but the scene at the tourney is at the Gus Macker in Mt. Pleasant a couple of months ago.

One and Done

Hey Brian...I'm one of the guys in the show. I also co-created it with Matt Letscher; who's also in it.

Just wanted to say thanks for the bump. We're big fans of your writing and MGoBlog. It means a lot to us that you gave us a valuable slice of real estate here. Really appreciate it, man.

Best and Go Blue!

Also, if we get a season 2, you'll have to be a part of it.

Frita

I live in LA and was back visiting family in A2 a few weeks back. My sister took us to Frita Batidos and we went back again...3 more times in the week we were there. It's awesome.

Yost

I worked and drove the Zamboni at Yost from '88-'92 (under then rink boss, Mark Renfrew..Big Al's son) and it's amazing to see how much that building has changed inside.  I spent three summers re-painting the seats and seat numbers with former players like Don Stone, Jimmy Balantine and David Oliver.  The years when the program really turned the corner. My freshman year, they only sold out Lake St and MSU. By '92, they were becoming elite. Great days.
