the last time i went there was 3 years ago. My wife was sitting outside with our baby son. I tried to order for her and they wouldn't allow it--until they found out a baby was involved. Rude Dog (the black lady with dreds) said it was OK because of the baby. also, Rude Dog and I are friends due to my frequent visits during college. My sister was a Blimpy virgin and she made the dreaded mistake of ordering her burger when they asked if she wanted anything from the fryer. she was reprimanded. my all time favorite story from Blimpy is when there was a long line and Rude Dog was getting antsy and a group of Asians (not Asian-Americans) came in and she yelled out, "oh no, not a group of fucking gooks." true story. The owner is an asshole. I liked the guy with the pony tail. he was cool without being a total prick. and of course i like Rude Dog. I wish they still allowed the kid pictures to hang on the walls. "Cheaper than food."
Also, UM would've had at least one more if Alan Webb didn't choke.
Also, also, Jake Deitchler shouldn't count for Minnesota since he has yet to take a class or compete for the school.
I am disappointed that the Anti-Carr All star team is cancelled but i understand. But Brian, can you please write an article about how bad Joey Sarantos was?
Oh yeah....Joey Sarantos (excuse my French) was FUCKING TERRIBLE. watch the game vs. Texas in the Rose Bowl. My blood is on fire right now. Joey Sarantos had no business ever seeing the field. this was a classic Carr "but he really practices hard" player. JOEY FUCKING SARANTOS!!!!
As for the Newsome vs. Forcier...i've heard the comparison that Newsome is Tebow and Forcier is Troy Smith. Obviously both Heisman winners, so both good players. Personally, based on this comparison, I would like to have Forcier. With Forcier (Smith), you get downfield passing and can still attract top-notch WRs. With Newsome (Tebow), you get the tough runner who can shot put the ball a little. I was watching the replay of the 1992 Rose Bowl of UM vs. Wash and Grbac was winging the ball downfield to D. Alexander and A. Toomer...and that was awesome and I don't want to give that up.
My biggest complaint about Carr is that he was re-active and not pro-active. The only changes they ever made was when they were badly exposed. After getting blown out by Tennessee in the bowl game, Carr said they needed more team speed. When they got embarrassed by Nebraska, Carr said they needed to lose weight. What about knowing the weaknesses of your team and improving on them before some other team makes you look foolish. And don't even get me started on Gittelson. It really boils my blood to this day. I am somewhat of a S & C enthusiast and knew that Michigan was way off track before Barwis ever showed up. Barwis pretty much just confirmed what a lot of people had been thinking.
