You have to give the staff a year or two to gel.  recruiting classes have traditionally gotten better year by year.  Besides, freshman are going to be freshman.

Regardless of personal choice, I think it’s clear the division in the athletic department was real and very disruptive.  Dave Brandon subtly made a number of points that could be construed as pot shoots toward the old coaching staff.

We know who the OC is, but what would set Brady apart would be his ability to add young guys to the staff to mentor and build into the next generation of Michigan leadership. 

I mentioned this in another post, but if tomorrow is indeed intended to introduce the new coach to the players, it will not be Les Miles.  He is a main speaker at a coaching conference in Dallas.  Brandon is likely just keeping the players in the loop while the search continues.  Always better to over communicate in times crisis.

Recruiting wouldn't be an issue.  Did you see the speical he did on ESPN working with the high school team?  He's a great motivator and terrific teacher.  I believe he would have a lot of success here.  Unfortunately, I think he's very comfortable at ESPN. 

but I highly doubt he comes here read our comments, unless he wants a good laugh.  There have been some pretty epic debates this morning with a sprinkle of pretty funny comments mixed in.

DFW area has Rangers fevor - which is near impossible when the Cowboys are in season.  Simply put, I don't remember seeing a team this united having this much fun in a long time.  Look out for the "Claw" and "Antlers" if you watch the next game.  It's something the players created to show appreciation for power or speed.

Havent been through all of the comments yet, so not sure if this has been mentioned. This may be the result of the senior leaders telling these kids to buy-in or get out.



I'm sure the coaching staff have taken on a few recruits they wouldn't necessarily go after once we are winning. Recruiting is an uphill battle for these guys. For whatever reason some of these guys aren't good fits for program.

According to NCAA:

Each student is allowed no more than four seasons of competition per sport. If you were not a qualifier, you may have fewer seasons of competition available to you. You should know that NCAA rules indicate that any competition, regardless of time, during a season counts as one of your seasons of competition in that sport. It does not matter how long you were involved in a particular competition (for example, one play in a football game, one point in a volleyball match); you will be charged with one season of competition.

Gardner can play a certian number of plays in the first 3 games and still redshirt.

If it's a name brand chain, they have provisions in the budget for situations like this.  The lawyer is there to cover the best interests of the company.  Just playing devil’s advocate, but who's to say you didn't loosen the plug beforehand?  That's what they will try to figure out.  Most likely they will pay for whatever damages just to keep it out of the news.  If they try to strong arm you, I would contact the TV stations

Tea bags - it's the best remedy.  Get them wet and place them on the burnt areas which will draw the heat out and get you through the pain portion of your program faster.

PGA superstore (if you have one) has a large selection and a number of used sets.  Take your son with you and have him try out 3-4 styles.

Anyone watching them this year realizes San Jose was by far the better team.  Red Wings looked slow and didn't play well together.

I got to go to a couple a fews years back when I coached at a high school. Do yourself a favor and soak it in, you never know who you will end up next to. I ended up shoulder-to-shoulder with Bo and got to chat with him for a few minutes.

I usually agree with many of your points, but to suggest that anyone thinking about replacing Carroll or that he could even be associated with the mess Weis made at ND is ridiculous. If anyone thinks that way, their fan card should be revoked. They don't deserve to watch college football. A freshman QB has a lot to do with it!

Quickly, I can tell you that a bunch of us threw in 10 bucks ($60 total) a piece and parked in the Crisler Arena parking lot for Penn State. I've been a number of places and that was the coolest spot to be. We were feet away from the WOMC broadcast and hung with Beckmann and Brandstatter (who I met through his niece), the band went right around us, we got into a verbal joust with the Penn State guys who dress up in the football uniforms (almost got arrested because of that). As we left, we blended in with the high dollar athletic donators and basically got a police escort out of the parking lot.

You got the total game atmosphere and had the ability to go all over without being to far away from the vehicle (i mean, to far from the cooler).

This is dumb...and dumbier!

If I could have 5 minutes and an opportunity to get a meaningful answer, I would ask RR why he choose to pass the ball so much during the overtime. Tate looked spent - as did the State defense after pressing hard the last 4 minutes. After the initial first down inside the 10, why wouldn't you grab Minor by the facemask and say, "You have 4 tries to get it into the end zone...don't screw it up?"

I'd just like to know what they saw and how they approached the overtime...hindsight being 20/20 and all.

Coming from a Big 12/SEC area, I can't complain at all that i'm able to enjoy the B10 network. Previously, I would have to rely on "local" coverage, or subscribe to the espn gameplan to see a really bad espn regional broadcast using mainly local announcers.

I'd never paid attention to this kid until "punch gate." His reaction to the loss and taunting fans was highly inappropriate. He alienated fans, coaches and teamates after the Boise State game.

That said, this is a great life lesson learning opportunity. And there is no reason to ruin a kids opportunity and potentially his life.

I understand how an argument could be made for maintaining the suspension. But I ask this...If you’re going to make the argument that the indefinite suspension is the only choice for the situation, shouldn’t other players caught on camera throwing punches (like Mouton) be on that list? One can argue the circumstances of how, when, why the punch was thrown. Even though the circumstances may be a little are a little different, the intent was still there. Cut the kid a break and treat him like you would your own kid. Ground them for a month and give them time off for good behavior.

Quite possibly, the refs saw it and mentioned it to him the first time...that's why there wasn't hesitation the throw the flag when he did it again.
