The coaching staff hit the portal looking for a shooter/scorer in a guard role, plan and simple. Frankie isn't a shooter just yet, and a major weakness of this team is that they cant shoot. Frankie took it against himself. Sad, but thats how alot of these kids think these days. I hope the coaching staff can talk him into deciding to stay.
Wishing Zeb the best of luck. Was looking for him to be a slasher to the basket, that is badly needed this season. Consistency seems to be a problem. Hoping that a new environment works well for him!
Can we trade out Shea Patterson for Jake Rudock??? Jake had no hype, and an outcast from Iowa, but could get things done. Shea, with all his hype and new offense, and little to show for it. Especially with all the weapons at his disposal ... IJS
I remember first reading about Reed and thinking ... we're too far behind to get this cat. Does Howard has a bit of that "Snake Juice"??? If so, can we mass produce it??? This is a great get, and even better that we took him from ohio's plans. Lets finish this off with Yohan Traore!!! Anyone remember Yohan and Peewee from the Smurfs???
Agreed, Reed or Traore would be nice. My vote is Traore, he has room to grow some ... Udeh looks like a rawer version of Traore, but seems to put everything down with some force ... That's nice against high schoolers, but the B1G is as close to grown man basketball as you're going to get these days. Grown men aren't going to let you just dunk over them ...
Who is this kid? Thats what I was thinking when I saw the hello post. Skinny slasher from PA that nobody seemed to want. Thoughts were okay, great ... we havent had a true slasher type in a good while. He plays below the rim, why do we need that? He'll be swatted repeatedly. Spotty Jumper at best. He's a Beilein Project. Oh how MAAR has grown. I wouldnt want to defend his dribble drive late in the shot clock, or lose him on a screen. Dude has been lights out down the stretch since before the B1G tourney. Smart with the rock, on point from the arc, up close and personal with the d, and floor general when things get tence. Steely cool, so much more than a scorer ... He will be missed.
