If you're OK with having to…

If you're OK with having to wear pants at work, work-at-homers excluded, you should be OK with wearing a mask to help save lives.

At least they don't have to…

At least they don't have to worry about surpassing 50% capacity...

It's still a top five class…

It's still a top five class without him.  It's a great start for Juwan and Michigan will be OK without Christopher.  I don't think we will miss him in March and April as much as it appears now.

Pretty much anything from…

Pretty much anything from the late Yogi Berra.  But I'll take this:

"Predictions are tough, especially about the future."

Easy call.  Vince's wife is…

Easy call.  Vince's wife is in Donald's cabinet.  The FL Gov. shares their political party.  Business as usual on either side of Big Gubmint.

Unintended consequence: AEW can run shows if they want to.  Vince has spent as much as $50 million on raises, even going so far as to pay some talent $500K a year to do nothing so they won't go to AEW.  He really wants them out of business.  AEW, however, cares more for the talent, so I am guessing they won't be running shows.  Besides, they taped enough to make it through the middle of May.

I just hope nobody dies because of this.

The Heisman Pose game.  It…

The Heisman Pose game.  It was so much fun to watch all of the downtrodden OSU fans slinking toward the exits en masse before the game was over.

Too bad.  I was so hoping…

Too bad.  I was so hoping this was a serious discussion that I actually signed in to make a rare comment.  But as someone who is over 60 but is pretty much the opposite of all the "boomer" stereotypes, I would like to say one thing to millennials that is based on some extremely sad statistics from the elections so far:

If you want your voice heard, get out and vote.  That will force all generations to listen.

I have advocated this for…

I have advocated this for years.  Not only would Michigan be able to compete with the dirty teams for top ten/twenty/etc recruits, some players would make more endorsement money completing full, four-year careers at Michigan than they would with early entry to the NBA or NFL.

The NCAA is being "penny-wise and pound-foolish here.  Players staying longer would benefit the NCAA's "brand" and bring in even more money for them.

The schools who recruit the…

The schools who recruit the most players near the top of the top 247 have the highest development percentage.  Go figure.

For this to be accurate, it needs to take into account the original position of the players who were recruited.  #1 is a lot more likely to "develop" than #247.

This looks rather innocuous…

This looks rather innocuous.   Now I wish I could have seen the original title.  Guessing he didn't put "John" in the original title?

Bama is in unless they lose…

Bama is in unless they lose twice.  And even then, the committee finds a way to get them in.  If Bama loses to LSU and LSU wins the division and the conference, one loss Bama gets in due to the Alabama Exemption.

You might as well cheer for Bama to keep on winning.

Can they make this decision…

Can they make this decision retroactive by about 15 years?

They have already started …

They have already started "slipping."  May they go into free fall starting with the Michigan game.

Urban Meyer is the Billy…

Urban Meyer is the Billy Martin of college football.  He's great for a few years, but then self-destructs by making everyone around him hate his guts.

A savvy AD would hire him to win an NC and fire him after the next year if he doesn't win again.

I hope Michigan finds a way…

I hope Michigan finds a way to pay Warriner what he deserves while using a nebulous title of some kind to make it sound like they gave him more duties and responsibility.  I would make a suggestion, but I am just not that creative.

Hoke was a great recruiter…

Hoke was a great recruiter who was overwhelmed as the HC of a major program.  SDSU was his ceiling; he was done in by the Peter Principle.  But it was a significant stretch to hire him, especially when so many good spread coaches were available and the personnel was set to succeed as a spread program.

If David Brandon had been remotely intelligent, he would have brought in a spread coach and Denard would have won at least one Heisman.  Michigan may have won a National Championship with him.  Hoke did what he was hired to do.  David Brandon was the real villain.

It is David Brandon's fault that OSU and PSU are dominating the Big Ten with spread offenses that, according to the alums who make decisions concerning Michigan football, "won't work in the Big Ten," while Michigan is still rebuilding from the David Brandon Debacle.

If Sparty fans hadn't proven…

If Sparty fans hadn't proven they are even more insufferable as winners than they are as losers, I would almost feel sorry for them.  They still think their team has plenty of talent and is just playing bad or getting bad breaks.  They still have no idea the only reason they had their brush with quasi-elite status is because Michigan self-destructed for eight years.

This year has been predictable.  They are paying the price for five years of too many recruits with offer sheets from MAC and lower BT schools.  Their depth players would be a decent MAC team, but have no business playing against better Big Ten teams.

And it is only going to get worse for them.  They will be a 7-5 or 6-6 team for the foreseeable future.

If a smallish slot guy can't…

If a smallish slot guy can't thrive in the spread, how is he going to even compete for playing time in a pro-style offense in a top 20 program?  There are plenty of MAC, MVC, etc teams that could give him playing time.

They are a team whose…

They are a team whose primary goal when they play Michigan is to injure the QB.  I am sorry for White as a human being because he deserves compassion, but not for Sparty.

Michigan should be favored…

Michigan should be favored against everyone but PSU and OSU.  If the results are "chalk," it works out to 9-3.  Not 7-5 or 6-6.

I agree with this, Joe. …

I agree with this, Joe.  Michigan plays from five to eight games a year that are "rivalry games" for the opponents.  They really have to play at near-rivalry game intensity every week to have a great year.

Yep.  The idea is still…

Yep.  The idea is still great and could be done very well under a different name.  But it has to be done right, with the most vitriolic and/or funny fan posts available.

I would rather have the guys…

I would rather have the guys who want to get paid in college DQ Michigan right away instead of keeping them hanging before signing with a dirty program.

When 98% of NFL players…

When 98% of NFL players tested after death show CTE, "we" aren't "overprotecting" anyone.

tl;dr

tl;dr

I'm sure it was a wonderful diatribe, though.

That is exactly how a good…

That is exactly how a good coach speaks.  No bulletin board material for the other team.  I am betting he reminded a few of his players about that after their part of the presser.

Hopefully, the Rocky thing…

Hopefully, the Rocky thing lasts for about one half.

I thought Nebraska had…

I thought Nebraska had decent talent and that Frost, our "hate" for him notwithstanding, would turn them into a dangerous team this year.  I am very glad to be wrong so far.   Michigan has enough tough games coming up; I hope Nebraska continues to play badly.  Martinez is better than his backup, but he was far from perfect against Colorado.

As for Sparty, I still think they are regressing toward the mean and won't be as big a threat as they have been.  The last three or four years of signing guys with offer sheets like Purdue, Illinois and various MAC schools is starting to show.  Four of their victories were gifts last year.  Those gifts usually balance out.  I am only putting them fourth because the Michigan game is their Super Bowl.

I know it's really against…

I know it's really against the "code" to quit at the half, but it was so Bills that I can't help but want to congratulate him.

Well, to be fair, at least…

Well, to be fair, at least nobody "retired" at halftime for the Lions today.  That's the most positive thing I can say.

Take the win....

Take the win....

I think Harbaugh will…

I think Harbaugh will continue to make the best decisions for his depth chart.

I disagree with the OP. They…

I disagree with the OP. They should keep Meyer in front of the cameras and let him keep exposing himself as an enabler of domestic violence.

"Reload?"  Michigan is one…

"Reload?"  Michigan is one more season away from the "reload and develop" phase.   Sometimes it seems like a lot of people don't remember just how much of a clusterfuck the program was under David Brandon.  A full five year rebuild was necessary.  This is only the beginning of year four.

At this point, I agree with Brian.  The OT position is still toast.  And it is one of the most important positions on the team.  I am hoping it is at least tolerable by next year. The ND game may have sucked, but they really aren't that far away and ND could turn out to be a playoff team this year.

If ND does make the playoffs, a seven point loss in the first game isn't going to look all that bad in retrospect.

It's a sad day when someone…

It's a sad day when someone even asks this question.  Harbaugh will outlast Urban Meyer, who comes off as the Billy Martin of college football.

One has to really be…

One has to really be searching for negativity to find this stat.

This is what happens when…

This is what happens when you combine too much money, too much fame and too many head shots.

I can't imagine watching a…

I can't imagine watching a replay of a loss. Not into masochism....

RR's tenure was sabotaged…

RR's tenure was sabotaged from the beginning, when LC was passing out transfer slips like crackerjack prizes after his last bowl game.

It's obvious that the rebuilding process is going to take a full five years thanks to the buffoonery that would follow after the initial sabotage of RR.  And the biggest part to rebuild, as Brian has mentioned numerous times, is the OL.

In the meantime, this team can still recover and win the next five.  5-1 going into the Wiscy game isn't a bad position to be in.

Brian was 100% correct in…

Brian was 100% correct in his assessment of every OT on the team.  Either that, or every DE playing for ND is a top ten draft pick.  I am leaning toward the former.

The media love to build…

The media love to build people up and tear them down.  It's sorta pathetic, though, when a seven point loss to a soon-to-be top ten team that was given their third TD by shoddy officiating is enough for people to make a negative macro-judgment on the coach's ability to do his job.

Play fake to Higdon up the…

Play fake to Higdon up the middle, TD pass to a wide open DPJ.  Like that's ever gonna happen at Michigan on the first play of the game.

Sorry, UMx, but when…

Sorry, UMx, but when Michigan is 69-36-5 against a program and that program's success usually depends on whether Michigan is up or down, it is entirely reasonable to expect regression toward the mean, no matter how many stats are cherry-picked to include Michigan's eight year path of self-destruction.

They are now even thinner at…

They are now even thinner at QB than Sparty, who are Lewerke and a bunch of guys who may not be good enough to start at EMU right now.  If Martinez can execute Frosts offense and stays healthy all season, Nebraska could win nine or ten games.

I think a lot of the media…

I think a lot of the media may be missing the boat on Nebraska.  They have good personnel there and a coach who is already one of the best at getting the most out of his players.  The division isn't all that strong.  Nebraska concerns me more than Wiscy, Sparty or even PSU at this point.

This development obviously means he is going toward his preferred spread offense but with the kind of QB who traditionally gives Michigan fits.  I don't like Frost at all, but I do respect his ability to win.

Here's hoping Don Brown's defense is up to the task against them.

I hope there is a…

I hope there is a demonstration at every OSU road game this season.  They are counting on this to all blow over.  But if it catches enough momentum, OSU will be a poster child for domestic abuse.

In their attempt to cover everything up, they may be creating more awareness.  I'm sure the irony would escape them...

I would be surprised if more…

I would be surprised if more than one active player sold his shoes.  And it could still turn out to be all transfers and support personnel who sold theirs.

I am still trying to figure…

I am still trying to figure out why the media are so high on ND.  They have gone from a school that used to get "The Luck of the Irish" whenever they needed it to a team that enters each season highly ranked and "shoots itself in the foot" whenever they have a shot at greatness.

He got plenty of …

He got plenty of "opportunity" at Michigan.  He just failed to take advantage of it.  Hopefully, someone steps in and tells him he needs to filter that opinion a bit and take personal responsibility for his own failings.

Sky Pahther writes: "Rich…

Sky Pahther writes: "Rich Rodriguez never made sense as a coach at Michigan."

Sure.  "The spread won't work in the Big Ten." Yet Urban Meyer is killing the Big Ten and has won three NC's with RR's offense.

When RR screwed around on his wife, he became sorta "dead to me."  But he made great sense as a hire. Unlike at OSU, there wasn't anyone around the program who was strong enough to get those resisting the hire to get behind the program.
