| 1 year 9 weeks ago | Smotrycz is the key |
I think as it stands now, this team is good enough to return to the tournament as anywhere from a 6-8 seed with some cinderella potential. I expect Hardaway and Morris to continue to develop, especially since both can see the draft lottery as motivation (not to mention this heartbreaking loss). But Smotrycz reminds me a lot of Gordon Hayward. I thought he looked really good against Duke. He was aggressive going to the hole and we all know he is a very good shooter. If he can get to the weight room and be a solid third option, it will help in so many ways. 1. We can move Douglass to the sixth man spot. A starting lineup of Morris (6'4"), Hardaway (6'5"), Novak (6'5"), Smotrycz (6'9"), and Morgan (6'9") would give us great length on defense while pairing a solid post guy and a quick, big point guard with three shooters on offense. Beilein's system would really be kicking. 2. We would no longer have the droughts we often experience when Morris or Hardaway has to leave, since we'd pretty much always have two solid options. If Smotrycz develops into a consistent double-digit scorer, this team will really look good. He needs to get into the weight room. I don't think 14 points/7 rebounds is out of the question for him, especially if he plays the 4 next to Morgan. |

Rose and Wall are simply athletic freaks that are not representative of most players at that position.

People make comparisons all the time. I'm talking about styles. Billups doesn't have elite speed, but he's crafty with very good size and good athleticism. Sounds like Morris. Obviously Billups put in a ton of work to get to that point. I'm not saying he'll be as good (or that he won't) but he is a similar player. |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | That's the thing |
Those bullet passes that go through Jordan Morgan's hands might be the right decision if he's throwing that pass to Blake Griffin. I think Morris is a very accurate passer who can get the ball where it needs to be. I don't even think visions the problem. I think he needs to take less risks, though a risk at Michigan is different from a risk in the NBA |

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Darius-Morris-6343/ Basically he has great size, strength, finishing ability, and passing/vision for a PG. He needs to improve his jump shot and his decision-making (which is an issue with most young point guards) The potential is there. He's not as quick as John Wall or Derrick Rose, but he could be a solid Chauncey Billups-type if he can hit the three consistently. Otherwise he'll probably be a career backup. |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | What about Brian Blackburn out of Detroit at QB |
6'6" with a big arm, also ran for over 1000 yards last year. He would be a project, but he seems to have a ton of potential. |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | False on Rodgers |
Rodgers had the second most rushing yards from the qb position this year (Vick was 1st) and is definitely faster than Big Ben. He is very, very quick, similar to Andrew Luck. |

Bradford is mobile enough to extend play, as are Stafford and Brady. You don't need to be Michael Vick, but feeling pressure and being able to extend the play is almost essential these days at the qb position. Look at Aaron Rodgers, arguably the best qb in the game right now. He's very, very mobile (second in the league to Vick probably), and Roethlisberger is big and quick too. Quarterbacks have to be more athletic these days. |
