defender in the interior (ie JMo)
|4 days 8 hours ago||Although||
I would argue that the "U" is the only one that actually seems to make any sense and have a corrolation to a previous tradition.
|6 days 2 hours ago||There are maybe||
5% of plays where we feed it into the post and let the center go at it. That's the system
|1 week 2 days ago||not sure why the kentucky recruits would care||
they're not winning games b/c calipari is a savant coach. they're winning games b/c they collectively have them most talented roster, by far.
|1 week 2 days ago||I hate this unsubstantiated myth||
that the nba had more talented players back in good 'ole days.
|1 week 2 days ago||just a guess||
but these guys aren't vaping their weed
|1 week 3 days ago||That sounds fair||
I can agree to most of that. I still think at the end of the day, if you can play you can play. The most mental aspect of it to me would be a white player having to accept that the lockerroom culture is going to be dominated by his black teammates. But I'd assume he is used to that by now.
|1 week 3 days ago||There are no NFL teams||
called the University of Michigan Wolverines that play in Ann Arbor in the Big House wearing maize and blue with winged helmets.
So as long as there exists a Big Ten/SEC/ ACC/Big XII/Pac 10 ish type substance, full of teams still wearing the same colors and playing at the same places, then I would be fine with whatever else shit goes down.
|1 week 3 days ago||it's only ok if||
they are inherently better rather than because of millions of complicated mitigating environmental factors.
|1 week 3 days ago||The more I think about it,||
the less I understand why an athlete needs to be a student for me to have the same connection to the game as a fan. I don't like college football because I like some abstract notion of a bunch of kids playing football and also being scholars. I like college football because I like the University of Michigan and want whatever conglomerate of players that have on the winged helmets to beat the other team.
|1 week 3 days ago||but you are implying||
that the reason the nba demographics is different than college basketball is based on reverse racism and not merit.
|1 week 3 days ago||I think the real key||
to being a successful 6'6 white wing player in the NBA is to be athletic and good at basketball. But, hey, that's just some random guy's opinion.
|1 week 3 days ago||this guy||
definitely saw his job flashing before his eyes.

|1 week 4 days ago||welp||
gotta get some hits!
|1 week 4 days ago||we can't seem to get a hit||
until there are 2 outs
|1 week 4 days ago||love jv||
but i don't really trust him past the 7th. in past years at least, he would tend to throw too hard and lose control. although, i would rather 8th and 9th inning jv than phil coke, joba, etc.
|1 week 4 days ago||need to get a lead in the bottom of the seventh||
don't want to depend on the bp to hold the tie.
|1 week 4 days ago||No||
they should not have fouled.
However, the game did give some good evidence that Michigan could have benefited by fouling Kentucky more often down low.Those bigs almost cost Kentucky the game at the line.
|1 week 4 days ago||i hate the wussification of america||
when i was growing up, my parents didn't clean anything. survival of the fittest, they said.
still miss jimmy and katie though, :(
|1 week 4 days ago||the UConn vs. Butler game||
only because i'm clairvoyant and knew it would be one the ugliest game in the history of title games.
at least this game has is likely to be back-and-forth, and features two teams with very different styles, one of which may be aesthetically pleasing.
|1 week 4 days ago||Just because Calipari||
explicitly states that his mission is to showcase 5 star freshmen and put them in a position to be one-and-dones, it's not like what happens there is vastly different than what Beilein is creating at Michigan. Morris, Burke, Timmy, Nik, GR3, McGary, and maybe LeVert will all leave Michigan before getting a degree.
|1 week 4 days ago||I'm not really sure what you mean||
I think this Kentucky team has players who are way stronger and faster than any of the players on teams from the 90s--that's just what 20 years of technology will do. An 18 year-old Randle is probably as strong as many of the strongest PFs in the league in the 90s.
Edit: I also think the fact that UConn, a young ass team, decisively knocked off a powerhouse, senior-laden Florida team, kind of refutes your point.
|1 week 4 days ago||I like UConn||
only because watching finese guards who can shoot and actually slash is more entertaining than watching power guards who bull rush and can only shoot last second dagger threes.
|1 week 4 days ago||That was for sure a foul||
problem was that he traveled before the call, so it should have been a travel.
|1 week 4 days ago||the only thing that bugs me about the comparison||
is that the fab 5 played pretty basketball. this was just, "hey, I'm stronger than you, so I will bull rush you out of the way and throw up a disgusting shot that I'm good enough to make go in 30% of the time, and the other 20% of the time I'll get a whistle."
|1 week 4 days ago||Also,||
It's not like Michigan is graduating our best players. Hell, 4/5 of this year's starting line-up will probably go pro before earning a degree.
By birding the NCAA, I wasn't referring to recruiting violations, I was referring to the myth of student-athletes.
|1 week 4 days ago||Perhaps this particular team||
and not even because they beat us, but because they play a disgusting brand of rugby basketball. This team is a middle finger to beautiful basketball. The brow squad, however, was fun to watch.
|1 week 4 days ago||i'm obviously in the oober minority||
but i like kentucky. their team's mere existence (let alone the fact that they're likely to win another championship) is a huge middle finger to the NCAA.
