I like the song, in fact it's a great song but MSU has used it prior to their teams run out for over a decade. Having Michigan adopt in in 2013 just isn't right so I am glad they changed it.

It was that game that is a perfect example of what Henne and the rest of the offense was capable of. They lit up the scoreboard even with two turnovers inside the 15 against an a damn good Florida team.
|1 week 3 days ago||Ugh||
I will never forget the late hit Crable gave to Troy Smith on 3rd and 15 to extend their game winning drive in '06 or the punt on 4th and short that was I believe inside the OSU 40 in '05.

It's cool but at the same time the Dream Cruise has become too big now. If I had a cool classic car the Dream Cruise would be the last place I would take it. Many people suck at driving on Woodward to begin with let alone on a crowded Woodward with plenty of distractions around.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||I've heard this before||
Many Ann Arbor residents who don't give a shit about football feel similar regarding 115,000 people converging on their town seven times per year.

When I did a study abroad trip at Peking University in Beijing back in 2007 I showed them a video of Michigan football as well as pictures and they thought it was amazing. The Chinese students loved the MMB and the banner touch as well as the actual game. There were so many questions it was rediculous but I tried to answer as many as possible. They would definately sell out the national stadium (Olympic Birds Nest) for a game.

If Michigan wore these in the Rose Bowl fans probably wouldn't have a problem with them but then again given our fanbase... Yeah, I should probably back off that given there are a contingent that feel Michigan should probably wear leather helmets and wool jerseys because of tradition.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||The Blue Pants...||
I like them. The striped numbers are a bit much but the I think the pants a clean looking.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||For sure||
Back then the Oregon football team only had 3 jerseys versus the 8 they have now and that's excluding the helmet and pants. Just look at the some hideous ProCombat unis Nike has made for the Buckeyes for any indication of what is possible for Michigan.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||Best and possibly the worst at the same time||
For me it was the 2007 Rose Bowl that is both the best and second worst visit I've made. The good reasons are simple, it's the Rose Bowl. Even as a consolation prize for the 2006 season it's still a cool sight to behold as it sits in a valley/ravine of a really nice town. At the same time the USC fans were almost Buckeye nasty. Between the Brody Jenner frat boys, bratty girls and the fans that are seemingly left over from the LA Raider "Blackhole" days it's hard to say it was a pleasant experience as we left and then waited for a ride back. It's the only time I've ever been spat on and had the fight or flight sensation come over me for a sports event.
I've been to Spartan Stadium a few times and only had a problem when passing by the tennis courts on Chestnut, behind their football building. That area is the native habitat of the "bro" on Saturdays and if you time it wrong you will not just pass, you will swim upstream with them to the stadium which is a bad time. Last year year we came in from the old campus side and sat lower bowl in the north endzone and it was fine aside from what took place on the field. It's almost better to be harassed than pitied by surrounding fans. If you go this year try your best to sit in the north side of Spartan Stadium which has added a new endzone complex with better amenities for fans and players.

I've worn a Michigan polo out on Forrest Akers West when golfing with some of my MSU friends and no one became bent out of shape. The only people that gave me any grief were my friend and the cute girl working the proshop and it was all in fun. Same deal when I hit up the Dairy Store on campus after. Hell, I even got a free scoop of the MSU flavor after I order their Maize N' Berry! Haha!
I've been on the Ohio State campus in a Michigan hoodie and only two students razzed me by booing me before walking up and striking up a great conversation. Despite being 10 years older than the couple we met up at a place called Houndogs pizza and had a really nice time with a couple of their friends, one of which was from Monroe.
A few bad experiences seem to have a greater impact than many good ones. If anything wearing your schools colors in "enemy" territory could be an icebreaker to meeting some good people who get that sports and rivalries are supposed to be fun as well.
|6 weeks 4 days ago||Shocking||
It's hard to believe that the same program that sent doctored game film to MSU before their game in 2012 would resort to negative recruiting and name calling.
|8 weeks 3 days ago||Show the backs of both||
Yes, seriously they are. Last years polo/golf shirt did not have that dorky nameplate trim across the back and arms. That alone is a step back back in my veiw.
|8 weeks 3 days ago||Coaches Polos||
Those are a major step back from last years and even the first two years of the adidas polos. A lot of the adidas stuff is ok but when they try and get creative it really falls apart. Maybe it's just me being boring but less is more in my veiw and not just for Michigan gear.
I like that the "M" is embroidered versues the screen print Nike uses on their polos but the stripe on the shoulders is just strange. It reminds me of a blank nameplate. I do think some of the Nike stuff looks better but they are just as guilty of using the same template for every school mixing in strange colors and making the "swoosh" just as prominant as the university logo. Neither company seems to care that we are Michigan, Michigan St., Alabama, ND, etc fans and not fans of adidas or Nike.

Most offers are rumors since very few are ever made public (no one knows if Texas actually offered Saban) so it's tough to gauge. I've read that Narduzzi was offered a couple of MAC jobs and others in similar level conferences. He also turned down a lot of money to go to Texas A&M to be their D-coordinator.
Dantonio won't leave for anything. He's almost 60 years old and makes close to $4 million per year with his new contract. Not many coaches make a move that late in their careers and he is already making good money. Personally, I think he would rather make a legacy at MSU and has stated the MSU is a destination, not a stop. I don't see
Hollis was largely responisble for the creation of outdoor hockey games with the "Cold War" as the asscioate AD under Mason and was the point man for hiring Dantonio from Cincy since Mason was retiring soon. Right now their athletic department is bringing in more donations than ever before and under his direction they have imporved the facilites for football, baseball, softball, and soccer. Right now they are doing a renovation on Munn and major work on Spartan Stadium. As goofy as some fans may think putting MSU on the aircraft carrier it put their program front and center and that was also Hollis.
Tweets are never important but what his actual accomplishments are.
|10 weeks 4 days ago||Dantonio isn't leaving EL||
Sorry, but I have to agree with BRBlue. He's been rumored for a number of jobs and yet he has signed two extensions with MSU. Mark Dantonio has no reason to go anywhere else with the success he has had at MSU, has arguably the best AD in college athletics in Mark Hollis, the chance to play in the Rose Bowl, and a appreciative fan base. I would be shocked if say a Florida or Oklahoma came calling and Mark Dantonio left MSU. Hell, their d-coordinator has had a dozens of head coaching opprotunities and he's still there.

That network has turned into the tool that gets on any discussion board just to type "FIRST!!!!"
|20 weeks 5 days ago||Very sad to hear||
As sports fans we often get overzealous over any number of pointless "issues" that sometimes we gloss over some of the great moments.
As courageous as Lacey was in her fight against cancer Adriean Payne showed a lot of courage as well by opening his heart to a young lady. He did this knowing that that this could turn out the way it did were unfortunately high but he did it anyways when many his age and older would have kept their distance to minimize their own emotions. Fortunately Adriean Payne did not and helped provide Lacey some solace in the most difficult of times.
I really enjoyed the smile that he brought to her face and the smile she brought to his.
Thoughts go out to Laceys family and her extended Spartan family.
|21 weeks 5 days ago||Real Sports on HBO||
If you haven't seen it already watch the episode from March 25 about the college degrees for the student athletes who cannot read and the other degrees athletic departments funnel football players towards. It's really quite sad to see this and learn how the NCAA disbanded the SAT/ACT requirements to be a student athlete and went to a graduation based system.
|21 weeks 5 days ago||?||
Just curious as to how you think Mark Dantonio allowed this circus to happen? The way I see it Dantonio made the kid an offer and the kid accepted it even against the wishes of his parents. After the young man made his choice dad supported it, mom didn't and he ended up where he wanted to be. This was a family issue that ended up being aired by local sports media and mom, not MSU/Dantonio and the family. I don't think Hoke and staff would have done much different had Michigan been in MSU's position to be honest.
|21 weeks 5 days ago||Defense||
I think the defense is a bit suspect to honest and do not find to be any where near the upper ecehlons of anything. This is the same defense that let an MSU offense hang 30 points and over 400 yards of offense a week after scoring one offensive TD against Purdue. The perfromances against Akron and a UConn team who's highest point total all season was 28 is not what a good defense would do either. The worst part from my veiw is that the team didn't improve as the season went on. If they had gotten better from week to week that would be one thing but the lines neither line improved very much. The o-line couldn't block and the d-line could seemingly never get any pressure despite having the recruits.
So yes, I am a bit pessemistic but that's not the same as sad.
|25 weeks 1 day ago||Some awful comments||
Some on here (and in life itself) are very sad, little people using a day when a man has died as a forum to point out all of his faults. I have feeling it may take countless days to point out all the faults of such callous people. People who feel as if they have some duty to take to their keyboard and diminish a mans life over a pro football team as if it were important.
Just because something may be true and you say it does not it justified because as with anything there is a time and a place and this is certainly not the time.
|27 weeks 4 days ago||I'm for it...||
But it must be done in a manner that is logical. For example, I think players should be able to negotiate the length of the season and new rules added or old rules amended but there needs to be a clear set of boundries of what would be allowed through collective bargaining and what isn't. The only way to get there would be to sit down and draw up a "constitution" if you will with the NCAA, student athletes and a impartial third party.
On a side note:
Personally I would like to see the season brought down to 10 games with an 11th game being a bowl and then the championship game being the 12th. Playing 14 games is too much for 18-19 year old kids that have other responsibilites besides football and puts a lot of wear and tear on their bodies. When a 20 year old that has played almost 2 full NFL seasons wants to go pro people blast the kid for not getting his education and feel he should stay in school and get beat up a few more years and then go pro. I believe if the NCAA reduced the number games more kids would complete college, pursue more difficult degrees and come out of the college experience in a better postion post football than now.
|27 weeks 4 days ago||Not just Baltimore||
Pretty much the enitre NFL and sports media world raved about about him being great leader and how inspirational he is. ESPN (of course) was the worst of them especially after they announced that he would be joining the network after the SB. Ray Lewis is shady at best and personally, I find his whole schtick to be phony but well thought out and executed.
|28 weeks 3 hours ago||Good call||
You appropriately did not use a "s/" for sarcasm as this is probably true.
|28 weeks 4 hours ago||Dumb||
To me, I just find really cheesy and don't really see what it's purpose is other than to whore out for more cash. It's stories like this that give me a sick feeling about where college athletics are and where they are headed. Next thing will be some donors name on the backs of the jerseys instead of the players.
|28 weeks 4 days ago||Seems like it||
Jake Butt's ACL tear is the 9th incident since spring of 2011 according to Nick Baumgardner on Twitter.
|28 weeks 4 days ago||NCAA||
The NCAA is a joke and this just adds to it. They claim they are all for player safety and thats is what the rule is about so players don't have as many plays on their bodies. This was the reasoning for the running the clock after the kick and what did the NCAA do after that rule? They added another game. Now teams that play in their conference championship game and a bowl game play 14 games, just two short of what most NFL teams play. Starting next year the two teams playing in the national championship will have played 15 games so this is just another fake attempt by the NCAA to care about the student athlete or aka cash cows. Look for the NCAA to ok going to a 13 game regular season schedule soon.

Have the skywriters write pro Daily slogans all over southeast Michigan which now includes East Lansing.
|30 weeks 2 days ago||I have a few||
I like to follow a school from each major conference and cheer for them to give bowl games a little more meaningful as well as just to make random games more interesting for me.
