"I love it that Ivy League coaches are coming to our camp and Big Ten coaches are coming to our camp. South Florida is coming. We've got about 70 schools that are coming to our camp."

That's an easy one to get around since Michigan will be wearing Nike all the recruits in the country will want to play for Michigan! Nike solves all the ills of the football team and that extends to all other sports too! Because Nike!

They also were without a top flight forward. You could argue the merits of Franzen but regardless of that his contract is equal to many very good players and in the salary cap era that was a hit too. Also they were out another high priced player in Weiss simply because he just doesn't seem to fit anywhere. The Wings have about $9 million tied up in those two players that combined played just two games in the playoffs (both Weiss of course) so if you could substitute them for at least one really good player it couldhave been a different story.
It's all hypotheticals but I've thought about it since game 5.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Sorry||
I think we hear way too much about of a 26 year old, first year year postion coach who was hired on pure nepotisim. I cannot think of any other position coach that has ever garnered so much attention.

AZ is pretty much Oregon south in the Pac12 with 3 helmets, 3 jerseys and 3 sets of pants. RR also had the yellow jerseys are WV.
|4 weeks 5 days ago||100% Correct||
I've read recently that Dantonio had direct talks with Nike about getting the green pants they first wore against Michigan for 2013 game in EL. Maybe Brady was indifferent (likely) or Brandon has more choices in uniform design (also likely).

The license plate thing bothers you immensely. We know because you cannot shut up about it as if it's a legitimate problem under any circumstance.

This happens when kids commit when they're juniors and sophmores.

Both were at football games. In 2005 a group of Michigan students were hurling half full Absopure water bottles as well as batteries at the Notre Dame visitors section. For whatever reason the visitors were seated right next to the students in the north endzone, the following year they were not.
The other was a Michigan and MSU fan having sex in the back of a Ford Edge on AA Golf and Outing. Techincally that wasn't at the game though since it was before so...

This is pretty weak in my veiw. College pranks are fine as long as they are relevant. Painting the spartan or diag the week of the Michigan and MSU in football or before a big basketball game is a lot different than in the middle of April.

But that seems their best selling point since they might be headed to a full rebuild. I think Dion Phanuef has better chance of being a Red Wing than Babcock uprooting himself to Toronto. He and his family are pretty ingrained in the Plymouth/Northville community so it would have to be an unreal offer to get him to bolt.

With the hand over the tip of the ball instead of the laces. It was interesting to see.

Both were provided by dealers. Each truck had a dealer plate on the back so they were likely demos. I wouldn't be shocked if Harbuaghs F-150 has a dealer plate on it as well.

Greg Robinson had a red Dodge Journey when he was here.

Right now all F-150's are built in Dearborn until the other plant comes on-line in Kansas City. Only the HD Sierras and Silverados are built in Flint with the 1500's built in Ft. Wayne and Silao Mexico.

There seems to be more of a M-Live element as well where many rational discussions are eschewed or ridiculed. I pretty much stick to the front page now a days and leave the board alone.
|9 weeks 4 days ago||Block M||
I'm out on the football things from the 80's but I would fine with maize block M's for football acheviments on the blue part of the helmet and blue block M's for acedemic acheivments. It's a rip off of Georgia and their bones but I don't like the big helmet stickers on the Michigan helmet. If you have a helmet like Ohio State, FSU or even MSU it's one thing but the Michigan helmet already is more complex than most.

I miss that kid. Not shitting on the current goalies but that kid was a warrior every night and I think gave the d-men in front of him the confidence to cheat up a bit.
|10 weeks 5 hours ago||Cut blocks||
I think that is something that needs to be banned from use with O-linemen. In the open field it's a little different like with RB blocking for a QB but on the line its awful.

There are a number of real issues in regards to safety but up tempo offenses isn't one. I would say the length of the season is more of a threat than no huddle, up tempo schemes with both Ohio State and Oregon playing 15 games.
As mentioned before, what about his scheme using massive linemen? How about sending your starting RB into the teeth of a defense 20 times per game, taking hits everytime? If he gets concerned about his players safety then use a time out. You get 6 per game Bret, use them.
Adapt or die.

I just feel that there is a very big difference in the crowds. There is a large section of fans at Michigan games that have to be goaded into something as simplistic as the wave on 75 and sunny day. You also have groups in the student section that can be fickle at times and might decide to call it quits at the half if it's nasty.
These are things that neither pro football or the outdoor Wings game had to deal with.

Have your best non-conference game at night since it can be pretty hot during the first 2-3 weeks and a mid-October game at night. I'm not in favor of games in November being at night becuase the weather is a real question mark. The MSU/OSU game in East Lansing was the first week of November and an MSU buddy who went said it was brutally cold because of the mist and dampness in the air. That could bum the crowd out a bit and perhaps temper the excitement.

Good job on your idea but damn! You have created the B1G North division of death. Haha! Hopefully we never get to that point with expansion.

Some of you guys have to do saints work, especially in the student section. If you happen to see this I'm curious if you've seen a change for the worse in the attitudes of fans. From my perspective the stadium experience has become worse since seemingly anything goes now a days.

It was hotter than hell but it was nothing compared to the heat inside me for the Michigan fan screaming at the Michigan players. I sat in section 24, about 5 rows from the sideline and this loudmouthed asshole was screaming obscenities at the kids on the sideline and they heard him. A number of them turned around and he just kept at it until I finally lost it. He wanted to fight me and the guy behind me right there and I was ready to because he was just vile. So that takes my top spot for worst experience and I've been to Spartan Stadium more than once.
Number two would be the 2008 Rose Bowl. The amount of frat bros was insane. For the added joy of it add in the stadium is 80% USC fans and of those 50% were band wagoners plus the thrashing they gave Michigan made for a shitty event.
|14 weeks 5 days ago||haha!||
Screw you UCLA! That's what you deserve and I'm glad the kid changed his mind and went elsewhere. Sure the recruits can be annoying but there are schools so sleazy it serves them right. I know the Weber thing but I would have liked to have seen him move on from OSU to any other school just to make a point. If he's cool with it though thats all the really matters.

What a fantastic venue and I agree it trumps Michigan Stadium and Crisler.

Pete Rose is a hall of fame player. I don't care about his managerial career where the betting took place as it is completely separate from his achievements as a player.

I like Dantonio, Meyer and Izzo. I respect what they do and love what they bring to our games against them.

For the the things I'm with you on. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
I like LeBron and think he's about as good as you can get as modern day pro athlete. If his worst offense is "The Decision" then he's pretty much a saint.
Jalen isn't great but I actually like him better than Desmond and I thought it was funny when he harassed when Gameday was at MSU.
