|1 day 2 hours ago||Why do you feel so compelled||
Why do you feel so compelled to judge how deep someone's bond is relative to someone else's based on your personal criteria? I went to graduate school at Michigan with people from Notre Dame who despite their degree developed little or no bond with Michigan. How does that compare with someone who grew up a diehard fan but for one reasonor another didn't go to Michigan? That's just one example, there are many others.
|1 day 3 hours ago||Don't get this||
I'm from NY and went to Michigan for graduate school but I know a lot of people around here who consider themselves Michigan fans without any of the hangups you seem to have experienced. They just like Michigan. Big time college football doesn't have a major presence here and plently of sports fans root for different teams. In most cases they never thought about going to Michigan out of HS (I didn't) so not being able to get in isn't a factor.
There are many reasons people don't go to certain schools other than not having the grades, especially if they're out of state.
Attitudes like yours alienate people who want to get behind Michigan regardless of where they went to college, or if they did go to college. I don't see the point other than feeding your own arrogance.

New Jersey's deeper than you probably think, but this "loss" doesn't bother me.
I'd be curious as to how the 27th rated player in Michigan compared - honestly I have no idea.

I see it for UM and JH as being in a one-time scramble situation because he's coming in late with so few recruits committed. He has to look everywhere. I expect starting in 2016 he'll be emphasizing the core region (OH, MI) first.

Glad it worked out and all are well. It's pretty serious business. All movement will pretty much stop by tomorrow night - I hope to be home early afternoon. Good luck.

Connecticut here. Just brought home a new 28" 2-stage blower and ready for action. This is going to be intense. 50 MPH winds to go with the 20-30 inches.

"...chatman would be by far the worst. Every time he's in the game he's making a mistake. Kid needs to grow up fast"
This isn't Kentucky. He's a true freshman...everyone adjusts at a different pace. I just hope he doesn't see comments like this. Especially strange after a game where he looked sharper than he has.

With or without LeVert this team is going to get really good over the next two years. They all looked better in this one, against the best team they've faced in a while.

It doesn't help that you have two Duke guys on there who are going to do everything they can to not talk about the success of Michigan basketball.

There's nothing to get over. It's a really good read that just happens to trash someone who hurt the Michigan program. Why not enjoy it?

He's being recruited regardless I think. Just wondering if there's someone we only take if Clark goes elsewhere. I assume not but really don't know.

I have to admit to not following this as closely as some here, but is there a second choice for TE that would be impacted by him waiting?

Publicly referring to someone who may have some personal issues as "damaged goods" is stupid and mean-spirited.

|2 weeks 1 day ago||The way you get around this||
The way you get around this in basketball is you tell the dominant team to slow it down on offense, eventually only taking jump shots, and play a compact zone around the paint, hands at or below the shoulders. That way the losing team avoids an endless stream of embarassing layups aginst them, and they get off some makeable shots.
The alternative, the bully way, is to play suffocating defense against a physically inferior opponent who will get literally no shots so you can run up a stupidly outrageous score. Obviously that was done here and this person shouldn't be coaching. Whoever it is really should be looking for a job in an office somewhere as a middle manger where he or she can torment some underlings.
Probably the most pathetic thing about this is the fact that the winning team had 6 fouls and the losers none. You're up by that much and you're fouling?

I agree with you but am of course roundly shouted down at the mention of it. The thing is, would his draft status have improved? The answer is not likely, and that's all they really care about when making the decision.
|2 weeks 6 days ago||There's more to it than that.||
There's more to it than that. I read an analysis of this a ways back and the US News rankings now have a decided bias toward smaller, less diverse (academically not racially) schools. It turns out it's easier for them to marshall the students and alumni to respond in greater relative numbers and more consistently to the questions that produce these rankings. It's more involved but that's the gist of it.
