Just did my first this past…

Just did my first this past October.  Not sure what the "just of fun" prep is... but my doctor gave me options, and without much research on my part, I opted for the 2 rounds of 7 doses of mirolax 15 minutes apart and one dulcolax with 3 hours in between after being on clear liquids from the previous night. As others have said, it was a minor inconvenience at worse.... not a big deal at all.

November 22, 1980, as an 8…

November 22, 1980, as an 8 year old growing up in Genoa Township on the outskirts of Westerville, Ohio, with a mother who was a 1965 graduate of tOSU, and my 2 brothers, who are 1 and 2 years older than myself, was my earliest memory of The Game. While I do not remember a whole lot from the game... I do remember the names Butch Woolfolk and Anthony Carter, I remember Michigan winning, or considering the setting, Ohio State losing, and I remember the tears that were shed by my brothers. I had a decision to make that day, and I chose Michigan! I could not root for a team that made you cry like that, though I am sure I did many times in the years following. The bonus was, Michigan's uniforms were way better.

Over the years, while I am viewed as a traitor to my family, the choice has been what has made The Game so fun in our family... and when Michigan loses.... so miserable!

 With regards to DeBoer,…

With regards to DeBoer, what was the sustainability of the success in the programs he left? He is a great coach, but other than coaching an NAIA school, where has he been long enough to evaluate his recruiting and player developmental prowess?

Amateur, I'm 51 and have had…

Amateur, I'm 51 and have had one implanted in my chest for 5 years!

I have heard Sam and other…

I have heard Sam and other insiders discuss how JJ uses the fact that Ohio State rolled with Kyle Accord as his motivational drive to prove Ohio State wrong. He may be too classy and media savvy enough to not rub it in their faces, but I will bet you, to some degree, he feels like they can "suck it" and that he will use it as motivation in the Big10 Championship Game.

I hope the whole team uses Cade and Erick antics leaving town as additional motivation to go out and bury this Iowa team....like scoring a couple TDs on D and having a return for a TD.

If I recall correctly, Corum…

If I recall correctly, Corum went down with like 2:11 on the clock and then Ohio State called the time out. So, if he runs out of bounds with a first down, the clock stops while they reset the chains then restarts, because the clock continues to run on out-of-bounds plays unless you are inside of 2 minutes. I could very well be wrong, but if correct, it would have been better to go out of bounds with the 1st down.

Klatt was also wrong about…

Klatt was also wrong about the  strip-sack-six in the Texas Alabama game last year, so.....he is not perfect.

This was my thought as well…

This was my thought as well...and it was close enough that I was worried about it being overturned because these things tend to go against M more than they go for them.

I agree it was the correct…

I agree it was the correct call. My Buckeye fan brother sitting next to me thought the call was correct as well.  The argument, as I understand it, is that Roman Wilson never secured possession as a catch and since the ball never hit the ground and OSU DB ended up with the ball, it should have been ruled an Int.

I just saw this story pop up…

I just saw this story pop up on youtube on the King of the C-Ring's podcast....or Menace 2 Sports... (you might wanna send me to Bolivia) so I watched portions where he played the confrontation video of Yood and proposes  that the sign-stealing investigation started with the FBI investigation on this case, that it did not originate from Day's brother.

I think timing is that he…

I think timing is that he needs to hire a new OC, and you are not going to get a great/ established OC (one without baggage) if you do not allow them to call plays on gameday.

Just a guess on my part.

I feel like there were…

I feel like there were several times when he could have made that decision for himself instead of waiting in the pocket for something to develop to no avail.

I don't think scholarship…

I don't think scholarship limits beyond this year come into play yet, so if they know he is leaving, they can fill his spot this recruiting cycle, but it won't count against numbers until next year.

Makes me wonder if the…

Makes me wonder if the missed blocking assignments when Cade came in were just a coincident.

USF may just self-induce a…

USF may just self-induce a penalty by hiring little Scottie Frost.

I am in North Port. Charley…

I am in North Port. Charley wasn't bad on my end of town...Irma's last update before shifting to Naples had it right over my house....we got winds over 100 MPH, but wasn't bad at my house. This is looking like we will be just north of the eyewall if it holds course, but one little wobble can cause it to make landfall 100 miles away in the window of one update (3 hours). This is what makes evacuation a tough decision....you could move from an area that gets very little impact to an area where you get a direct hit. Are your in-laws staying local or have they evacuated? If they stay and lose communication and you would like me to check on it if possible, drop a response and we'll see if the mods can pass on my contact info.

If this holds course, it…

If this holds course, it will be my first direct hit. Charley was small, so while the eye went through 15 miles south of me (North Port), we may have barely had hurricane force winds. Irma we got winds over 100 MPH, and I would walk around my house because of the trees on empty lots and the fact that my house is situate in the middle of a triple curve over a 1/4 mile stretch that doesn't really allow the winds to rip through where I am. We did, however, lose power for over a week due to Irma.

We have had gusts over 30 MPH consistently since mid-night and power has been flashed off and on a few times already, so that does not bode well as the eye approaches. Things should get interesting here in the next 5 hours.

Sleep well tonight, we…

Sleep well tonight, we should start seeing winds around 8AM with an 8PM landfall.

Not sure many will see this as it is off the front page and I am a day late and a dollar short, however in this clip of Harbaugh's presser, he states that JJ is not throwing, but is still practicing. JH says this right at the end of the clip.

Sam said, when he was on…

Sam said, when he was on with Ermanni and Edwards, that Gattis did not give Michigan an opportunity to match. Michigan and Miami each made an offer and Miami was the better offer, he did not come back to Michigan with that offer as leverage.

I believe the rule…

I believe the rule originated in the NFL where one sliding without contact does not end a play, so you were free to blast the quarterback. In CFB, you do not have to be down by contact, so you are saving yourself the shot while going down. I have seen many instances where the QB began his slide after a defender made a move into the QB and a penalty was not called....but I am sure there are plenty of times where it is called as well. At any rate, it is a silly rule in college because you don't have to be down by contact and shouldn't be called if you start your slide as you are about to be lit up.

Gary Moeller was Head Coach…

Gary Moeller was Head Coach of Illinois from 77-79 amassing a record of 6-24-3.

I believe at least one of…

I believe at least one of his daughters attended Notre Dame as well. While I was in college, I was a security guard in the gated community where Dick lived at the time. I have met him several times and spoken to him when he would call to give clearance for guys from ESPN to enter...and "Mean" Gene Okerlund. He was pretty authentic to what you see on tv....there was some degree of drama to the diaper dandy.stuff, but he just seems very excitable.

You have to maintain control…

You have to maintain control of the ball through the whole process to count....not just for a fraction of a second....if you catch the ball, get foot down in bounds, go to the turf and the ball comes out, it is incomplete.

I agree they should have sat…

I agree they should have sat Cade. Starting with the terrible throw in the endzone at the end of the second quarter.....he was off. He go got happy feet and and list his confidence and accuracy. I am fine with him not keeping on a read option because he is sure to lose yards anyway.

I see the same thing and ask…

I see the same thing and ask, why didn't he keep that....then I see him keep one as he has done a few times this year and say always give it. He is not very decisive or athletic while on the run.

And if I recall....the…

And if I recall....the injury he sustained was before he came to Michigan, and Michigan still honored his scholarship. Had Michigan not done that, where would he be?

Edit: I searched for a reference to a pre-Michigan injury and I did not find one....apparently I am an idiot.

Blocking on a bad ankle is…

Blocking on a bad ankle is probably a bad idea if you want him back to 100% asap.

This is interesting. The…

This is interesting. The girl is from North Port, so I would be interested in how your kids, who live 30+ miles away even know her. Or are they depending on heresay? I am sure those close to him are going to try to paint him as a victim.

I think most kids would be shocked to to find out a kid they know would do that. How many kids do you know that would do something like that? Also, it is a crime for him to even have that video whether she consented to it or not.

I, too, know the kid, and while in my interactions with him he seemed nice enough, that does not preclude him from being a scumbag.

One last thing that might be of interest, if I remember correctly,  he is a cousin of Karan Higdon.

My mother was a health and…

My mother was a health and PE major at OSU when Woody was on campus (1961-1964)ish. She has told me that on test days, when tests were being passed out, the football players already had their copies of the test.

https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/coaches/nick-saban-1.html

Saban's dynamic run did not really begin until 2008. At MSU he was 6-5-1, 6-6, 7-5, 6-6, 9-2 (34-24-1). At LSU he went 8-4, 10-3, 8-5, 13-1, 9-3 (48-16). Overall he ranks #17 for all time win % at .799. Meyer is the #3 all time win % at .854 behind Rockne and Leahy and he has the highest bowl win% at .800.

My conclusion is that Meyer is more an Xs and Os coach and Saban is a Jimmyies and Joes coach. Obviously you need some of each to be a successful as both men are, but on a level playing field, I take Meyer over Saban.

An why wouldn't recruits…

An why wouldn't recruits look at a 1 million buyout and think, "This guy can be gone at anytime, regardless of the length of his extension." ?

Jim Leavitt is at FIU with…

Jim Leavitt is at FIU with Willie Taggart. His name has been mentioned in the past, but not recently.

If he helps Harbaugh turn it…

If he helps Harbaugh turn it around, Harbaugh won't be leaving. If Harbaugh doesn't turn it around, I would assume that defense would be part of the problem, so he won't get the job. Where is the benefit?

I would expect that Cade is…

I would expect that Cade is a great passer based upon his high school numbers. I do not recall Dylan's high school passing numbers, but I do know that his ability to run helps to open up the rpo game. I don't think anyone, after watching the Rutgers game, will respect Cade's running in an RPO until he proves them wrong. I might well be wrong, but he doesn't look very athletic when he is running.

You can start with....Never…

You can start with....Never trust a Buckeye, but that is just my opinion. If you thought Washington and Mattison was ugly, what do think would happen if Fickell comes here, is successful, and then gets the call when Day leaves?

Keep in mind that Shoop is…

Keep in mind that Shoop is the Safety Coach....and he is AWOL. This means that Zordich is perhaps coaching both, which means he doesn't have enough eyes to watch both, or they are getting half the time they used to at each position which translates to regression for both groups.

Are they really tidy if you…

Are they really tidy if you have been wearing them all week though? Probably not whities either.

Football essentially pays…

Football essentially pays for the non-revenue sports. Department budgets may necessitate many other sports to be cancelled, so yeah, Iowa is probably just the beginning. What happens to the lucrative TV contracts? Surely Fox isn't going to pay for games that aren't being played and they hold a 51% stake in the BIG Network in addition to other contracts for football.

Hand is also under the ball…

Hand is also under the ball so when he spins it, it he sails it.

You are absolutely correct,…

You are absolutely correct, it is none of my business. I was aware of this well before MichiganMan14 ever wrote up his Karan Higdon commitment story post. I am from his home town and have taught many of Karan's friends and cousins. I have always found it odd that he went out of his way to omit anything about Karan's daughter, such as the following

" Karan committed to USF initially in an effort to stay home as he is the central figure in his family and viewed as a sort of pillar.  Staying close to home allowed him to be close with his mother and younger brothers amongst other things.  It became apparent quickly that he was going to simply be bigger than USF."   https://mgoblog.com/diaries/karan-higdon-commitment-story

As I said in my post, both of my brothers walked this same path, both dropped out to get jobs and care for their kids. There is a lot of positive that you can discuss from Karan's story and I find it odd that while MM14 freely discussed many aspects of Karan's private life he chose to omit the biggest.

FYI, Karan was a father…

FYI, Karan was a father before he ever committed to UofM.... for some reason MichiganMan14 always omitted that when singing Karan's virtues, not that I find the fact that he was a teen father an issue, since both of my brothers walked that same path; but that MichiganMan14 would omit it entirely while giving us all the insights into Karan has always struck me as odd and intentional.

I too have BCBS (of FL) with…

I too have BCBS (of FL) with a $40 co-pay for specialist. I have no co-pay for mental health. My daughter had to receive residential treatment twice for a total of 4ish weeks when she was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder and PTSD and we paid nothing. I'm  sure it was negotiated that way with the school board. Our premiums are about $1300 a month for my kids and I (though the school board pays 100% of mine).

This is the second comment…

This is the second comment on Dylan facing the second or third string D....and to be fair I wasn't paying that much attention at that point, but the ND player that got hurt on the Sainristil TD was a starter. Going back and looking at that series, it appears that the front 4 were 2nd team on the depth chart, but the remaining 7 were starters. I don't know how ND rotates their DL so I won't comment on that. I will say that Dylan got the ball out quickly enough that I don't think it mattered if the DL was 1st or 2nd team given the performance in the rest of the game. I am not saying start Dylan at this point, but lets not knock his brief performance to support starting Shea. It is nice to have a competent backup.

I thought I saw him in the…

I thought I saw him in the first drive as well and he was limping noticeably after a play.

And that should have been in…

And that should have been in the drive to end the half. Illinois just scored and we had a minute and 3 timeouts. Why wouldn't you like to go down the field and get some points? You get the ball to start the second half and score again and at that point you can get your bench some experience. Instead you signal to your players to let up because the game us in hand.....and they played with little inspiration until it became  1 possession game again.

I did some research nearly…

I did some research nearly 15 years ago to debate a friend who was is a Florida fan about which school had a better program. His argument was that what Michigan did 100 years ago didn't matter. At that time, I was able to look up historical statistics for college football. What I found was Michigan, at that time, had the most wins and highest winning percentage with the largest point differential against the highest schedule strength ALL TIME. I have since tried to search that information up, but to no avail; however, I am sure some of you (WD) can access that information and let us know where we stand today.

Exactly....we view children as a burden but we don't stop to consider what a burden we may be on them if there is 1 or 2 when we age and possibly require a lot of care in our later years.
