Eh, this one isn't over. He's only ever been there once, he's on a visit high, and it's completely across the country. We'll have another chance at this one.

Thanks for the explanation, what you're saying does make sense.
And I did notice the 385 pound guy. Holy crap, there is a lot of sprinting in that young man's future.

I'm curious as to why we don't have more guys on the lines over 300 when we're not a spread team. Alabama has 15 guys over 300 pounds, and while I know they play a 3-4, we also have a nose tackle position. It just seems like guys like Kalis and Dawson should be headed in the opposite direction.

People have been teeing off on this on twitter. Rice gets two games but Terrelle Pryor gets five for getting free tattoos when he wasn't even in the NFL. It's also a four game suspension if you test positive for adderall. Just a farce.

The Thunder should redshirt McGary IMO, it just makes sense

That's why they're so mad, the SEC has a league rule that prevents them from doing so.

Hey man, I live in DC, you never know how ridiculously technical and beaurocratic an organization can get.

Illinois is within 100 miles as the crow flies. What's the rule say, is that driving distance or map distance?

If HTTV doesn't get funded then they don't get any of the money pledged meaning the return on a pledge (assuming you're on the margin) is much higher than any beveled guilt. You have to think about that as well.

I've been dragging my feet but plan to get in before the deadline. I imagine there have to be a few more like me out there.

So our offensive coordinator watched 10 to 12 guys throw all over the country and decided that Malzone was worthy of an offer?
No thanks, don't want, five stars only plz.

A couple things:
First of all, I said they weren't highly ranked when they committed. Beilein's strength has been landing guys before they blow up, whether that be while they're still in High School or when they get to Michigan. And if you can pull it off, it's actually the most efficient way to do things. You get high caliber players without having the equivalent level of competition for them. And most of these guys end up 4 or 5 stars before they get to Michigan anyway!
And second of all, just because Michigan had deep runs in the tournament 2 years in a row, the traditional basketball powerhouses don't just go away. Programs like Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, Syracuse, Kansas, Ohio State, UCLA, and UConn don't just go away because they have one bad tournament. They're going to gobble up the majority of the 5 stars year after year. So yes, I'm fine with Michigan pulling in underrated players that blow up, it's the best way to succeed.
|11 weeks 6 days ago||Seriously dude? Those runs||
Those runs were driven by players that turned out to be far better than they were ranked when they committed. I think that strategy is working just fine.
You're like the Veruca Salt of recruiting: ''I want a five star and I want it now!''

I just wanted everyone to know that following winter conditioning I have also put on about 22 pounds by working out and eating everything in sight. While not all of it is good weight, I fully plan on leaning out and should be at a healthy playing weight by fall. Can someone please let Hoke know? I do have a fifth year to work with.

If Hagelin counts as a silver medal all by his lonesome then they clearly did the math wrong. That means we get two each for Davis and White and that makes it 2 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze.

The guy a few spots ahead of him in ESPN's rankings of Ohio players, Marc Loving, has done very little this year at Ohio State. If he wasn't ready then there's no point in having him run around and waste minutes. I do think it was worthwhile.
|27 weeks 6 days ago||The last two games against||
The last two games against Nebraska and Penn State have been interesting for Michigan's KenPom ranking. They've basically held steady in the rankings at around 20-21, but their offense has risen from about 15th to 5th best in the country while their defense has dropped from a peak of 48th to 77th. With the way their offense appears to be improving, they can definitely move up if they can just figure out how to get that defense back down towards last year's level.
|29 weeks 5 days ago||Rotating the Defense||
I think one way to get better is to stop rotating guys so ridiculously much. There really didn't seem to be any appreciable benefit to rotating every single position. The starters are your starters for a reason: because they're better than the guys behind them. Rotate the defensive line just enough that they don't get tired and play three inside linebackers, but other than that, I think this defense will perform at its best with only token subbing.

Ya, you read the OrangeBloods report I presume? Some very shady stuff going on there and very disfunctional as well? The thing is, that's not for him to decide. That's what resignation means. Yet he felt the need to interfere completely.

Hoke clearly went for that last touchdown because he was worried about padding Michigan's tempo free stats. I would've thought that was obvious.
|42 weeks 1 day ago||I'm not sure that there are a||
I'm not sure that there are a lot of takeaways from Penn State's game against Indiana, unfortunately. They play such a different offense than us, so any struggles that Penn State revealed on Saturday may not be repeatable for our offense.
On defense it's going to be interesting to see what Mattison does. Unfortunately I see him playing a lot of two deep to prevent Allen Robinson from destroying us in the long game, so we'll have to see if Penn State can sustain long drives. I see them scoring somewhere in the low to mid 20's, so we just have to get above that.

Probably two, which relies upon McGary and GRIII going pro after this season. Zero if they don't go pro, but let's be honest here.

I agree with Cincy, I thought the forums were excellent. The chats they held and the information they dropped there was second to none. Tom had as good of connections as anyone except maybe Sam Webb, but when you consider how expensive Scout is, Wolverine Nation was well worth it. I thought it was the best value in recruiting coverage, but now without the forums it's just not even worthwhile.

I'm always surprised that so many of these kids pick up gear for each school they visit. You've got a whole lot of t-shirts and sweatshirts to give away when you choose your school then.
|46 weeks 1 day ago||My favorite thing about this||
My favorite thing about this team right now is that they seem good enough on both sides of the ball that Michigan can enter a game with a comprehensive gameplan and feel comfortable that they're going to be able to execute it. It seems pretty clear that they were going to allow Notre Dame to dink and dunk their way down the field because they thought that they couldn't be stopped on offense. Teams like Michigan State and Nebraska don't have that kind of freedom, and I think it's an underrated aspect of success in football today. You're going to come up against a lot of different styles of play and it's nice to have the ability to adapt.
|46 weeks 1 day ago||If you were impressed by Rees||
If you were impressed by Rees I don't think you were watching the same quarterback as I was. He did some good things obviously, but that's more about the Notre Dame coaching staff realizing his limitations and putting him in a position to succeed. He has very little arm strength and loses his accuracy on anything past 15 yards. There were several times a guy was wide open and he couldn't put the ball in the right spot. He wouldn't have a hope of hitting even a fraction of the throws that Devin was making. In my opinion, he's a decent QB but one that you'll always have to put in a position to succeed, he's never going to win a game by himself. You correctly pointed out the receivers though. I think Jones and Daniels are very, very talented and Niklas will only get better. They're the talent that carries that offense right now.
