That used to be the case,…

That used to be the case, but recently has changed.  Pitts is awesome but QBs have been terrible.  Hockenson been very good, LaPorta has been next level, McBride was second round as well and been great.  All draft picks are a crap shoot, but Bowers seems pretty awesome - he was Georgia's team last year.

Question for the OP, some…

Question for the OP, some mentioning it above and some from the Ravens in the news, how much of the downfall was injuries (Ravens) and talent or lack thereof (NYG - both defensively and the abysmal offensive play)?  Even in the few clips posted looks like some poor defensive plays - one on the nickel blowing by the QB, one where the end lost contain.  Granted that was Hurts, but seemed a little more soundness and that's at least one sack, maybe 2.

I would also like to point…

I would also like to point out on the NYG side - their offense has been putrid this year.  Defense was average the year before and lo and behold the offense actually moved the ball and scored points.  I think it is hard to knock a defense when the offense is so incredibly anemic as it was this year outside of elite defenses, which is probably more Joes than Xs and Os.

I do not think this is…

I do not think this is accurate assessment.  Harbaugh was less than even money to stay a week ago it was -150 and maybe as low as -350.  So the odds have been moving in the wrong direction.

Braylon game was on fleek as…

Braylon game was on fleek as the kids say.

I think we still can beat…

I think we still can beat them next year, especially since their QB room still looks shaky.

Would also be awesome if the Catapult investigation reveals some misdeeds implicating their team.  Come on back for an epic implosion sounds nice as spice.

But also you love to see it

But also you love to see it

What I find conspicuous is…

What I find conspicuous is the absence of denial of the actual rumored allegation - insiders providing access to other teams. That would not in my opinion constitute a “data breach.”  They MUST have log notes of who accesses what tapes and where. Why wasn’t that addressed?

This is crazy talk for all…

This is crazy talk for all the above reasons plus wanting to get past your rookie contract. The longer Harrison is in school the longer it takes to get to his second monster contract so it’s not apples to apples dollars alone (ignoring the $20m signing bonus).  Dude is a sure fire WR as I’ve seen in college - so can’t compare him to most WRs.

Henderson could draw the analogy to Blake but Blake ended the year injured and just as importantly had a stacked team on a mission. Ohio has no such thing to offer and all the starters could be gone, so his stock could also go down. Plus his speed seems fine for a passing down back in NFL

Not to mention - sure liked…

Not to mention - sure liked to compare the defensive rushing totals comparison but oddly silent on the defensive passing comparison from a QB he pans pretty hard. Selective much?

Moreover, since the NCAA…

Moreover, since the NCAA tried to overturn this rule citing:

The minimal competitive advantage gained by scouting future opponents in-person is outweighed by the monitoring and enforcement burdens of ensuring compliance with the legislation."

https://web3.ncaa.org/lsdbi/search/proposalView?id=106069

Will be one hell of a time trying to argue it is regulating competition when they themselves believe it is of minimal competitive advantage.  Frankly, their own words saying this makes this a laydown hand IMO.

If B1G doesn't have a firm…

If B1G doesn't have a firm of similar caliber, it will be a legal bloodbath.  Having witnessed first hand, they can and will outgun you with brains and overwhelming manpower/hours.

Agreed and raised this…

Agreed and raised this elsewhere - if he did invite him - he's probably technically on CMU's staff.  Does that make it a violation if he is a dual, though temporary, staff member?  Certainly isn't contemplated, but certainly makes Michigan look less bad (would never be cleared internally) and frankly make it not even a violation in the first place.

Not sure why he’s fired they…

Not sure why he’s fired they have a bean pole at middle LB 6-6 and 215. Good luck with that.

Doesn’t seem like…

Doesn’t seem like information. Pure speculation.

I think the real question is…

I think the real question is whether any of the criminal rules of evidence even apply. Not sure how that works. Might have no issues admitting as evidence.

this site and Scout and you…

this site and Scout and you are all set. Step gingerly otherwise.

for instance was told by a friend that a mod from another site Could Believe harbaugh and warde fired tonight or tomorrow.

Yes - quite odd.  Now have…

Yes - quite odd.  Now have common opponents to compare . . .  followed by complete silence on the comparison because its not a pretty sight.  Michigan doubled the score and starters resting by end of the third quarter.

People keep looking at stats of RBs and saying we aren't the same.  Or maybe it doesn't matter, because we are blowing people out more than we have in maybe my lifetime.  3 wins by 38+ and two consecutive 50 point games - most since 1975!!!  hopefully we can add to that.

I just hope we get our starters out quickly this weekend as well - I trust Sparty to play responsibly as far as i trust Mel Tucker to keep his pants up on a phone call...

Just moved half named to another category.

it’s not they were busts at OSU it’s that they don’t make good NFL quarterbacks because the system is simple and better talent. Therefore they are passed up or become busts.

Agree with this comment and…

Agree with this comment and Alex - nailed the open paragraph.  That was simply atrocious to watch - Rutgers looked horrendous and I don't know if that is defense or they are just horrendous on offense.  Given their kenpom national and conference EFG%s - its likely the latter (291 and 14th in the B1G).

Sam towing the party line on…

Sam towing the party line on the air and tip toeing generally - that's smart.  Over time it is him, Dotman and a few others who you learn to listen to and get a good overall picture.  If Sam is talking about a recruit - pay attention.  If you haven't heard him mentioned, very very likely no chance.  Slamming him for getting things wrong or 18 years changing their minds is ridiculous.  He is very connected and most importantly does not make statements or predictions until he has done his homework with multiple sources.  True pro.

The Fort - biggest message board and loads of crap to wade through as a result.  Capitol of hot takes. Information is meh.  But way better than Balas.  Went back to it after having dropped for a few years and was not impressed and dropped again.

Balas - throws garbage at the wall.  Terrible track record.

Nice work. I only watched…

Nice work. I only watched the KSU game and reassured I wasn’t seeing things about arm punt USA. I was thinking during the game - this is the offense? Chuck it up and see what happens?  I know there’s a big difference between winging it and seeing what happens (let’s see what happens) but was shocked at what I saw.

Saw something on the Saban…

Saw something on the Saban departure and apparently Urban was slithering around in Tuscaloosa.

I don’t understand why people would stoop to the level of win at any cost even if it means bringing in a repeat sociopath.  Guy is scum and has proven it at every turn.

I think the biggest issue -…

I think the biggest issue - watching half the highlights which are probably 30% of his yards for the year - it’s all speed mismatches where he’s not touched at all. Yes speed is good. But how does he cut?  Can’t tell if he’s got power to break tackles.

could be good, but highlights aren’t showing making cuts that make people miss

Double B is a pretty good…

Double B is a pretty good coach. I’d take him over many in the B10.

Take $4M(?) a year of TV…

Take $4M(?) a year of TV money and dedicate to full time, professional referees. The stakes are too high to have a number of hacks, some with definite allegiance (buckeyes, cough) to have amateur hour calling flags (see spartan game).

I don’t know about this. The…

I don’t know about this. The counterpoint is we are in NIL infancy stage here and there are going to be a large number of flame outs (irregardless of calamaties of 18 year olds being paid millions of dollars). I can’t believe the money being paid today will be considered well spent and patterns will change. Though I wish Michigan were more active given the free agency feel or everything getting kids who want to be here seems like a better continuity proposition rather than all mercenaries.

nike is a bit of a different animal as it’s in the sports sponsorship business for its brand so hard to compensate there.

Agree with others - 4K is…

Agree with others - 4K is plenty (not sure there are 3 things in 8k now). OLED or QLED. I bought the 2021 LG 73” (I think).  Fantastic TVs - been tracking these for like 7 years and finally broke down (mostly because it was PS5 time).

there is a great Sony and the Samsungs I believe are the best.

that said - cheaper 4K TVs are a vast step up if you have a 10+ year old plasma (like I did).

Seth, I love you but …

Seth, I love you but "Surprisingly advanced offensive game as a 4 or 5" is borderline meth smoking.

Besides the throw it up and it goes in no matter what or where Iowa game, his offense was a struggle outside of flashes of potential.  It felt as every post feed to him was tantamount to a turnover whether in actual or in missed shot format.  For a super springy guy, didn't want to dunk it enough - how many bunnies did he miss that should have been dunks?

Has a vast area to improve here.

Oceans should be off limits…

Oceans should be off limits given that was the whole gimmick anyway.

I’m sure her share of the absurd inheritance will alleviate any immediate trauma. I mean that’s generational dollars.

Is this system perfect? No…

Is this system perfect? No. But I believe it’s an attempt at something that makes sense - football people who watch the important games.

the coaches poll?  Some low level person who has been cobbling film all weekend puts this together for a coach. Next to worthless as these coaches maybe get to see what percentage of games that aren’t theirs in a weekend?

AP poll - is it better? Maybe but better than a panel? No.

As for quips about “people getting screwed” in a larger format is a stretch. There’s 6-10 legit teams a year on average. After that - yes you may be last team out looking in - but screwed is a stretch. Such teams likely had multiple losses or a bad schedule or insert any number of other issues here. So right now, legit good teams might get left out such as Cincinnati. Could be a paper Tiger or legit. But have an argument. Spartans maybe depending on how year ends. Same for Michigan.  After that, meh.

I also knee jerk didn’t like…

I also knee jerk didn’t like it but I think that is just because it’s always been done that way. Frankly, I agree this is probably much safer given the amount they snap it and there’s next to zero chance a defender gets through the line to a fumbled ball before the three players back there.

I’m not sure I agree with…

I’m not sure I agree with this sentiment. I’ve seen it lots of places.

We have all seen this game before - Michigan playing a cupcake and winning by a real 17 points. This was not that game - we effectively won by 30+ Until we had the last people on the bench in the game.

This is a MAC team but that is a good qb who was shut down. We’ve seen lesser qbs turn into world beaters. I’m not anointing our defense top 20 but this was encouraging they could be top 50 ish which I’ll take. Real OL to be tested against. They did have what, a seventh year and two or three sixth years on the OL which means a bunch of 24 and a 25 year olds which does provide more old man strength.

I think this puts the fooor up a win. And also agree lots of turd play this weekend. Mertz- yeesh. Pennix has a great arm but good lord did he like throwing to the wrong team.

Brian, sorry to hear what…

Brian, sorry to hear what has transpired in your personal life.  Your efforts here are greatly appreciated.  One day at a time is the best advice I can provide and it shall get better.

JonnyH - well said.  First…

JonnyH - well said.  First of all, recruiting is a soap opera, which is part of the entertainment value. Sam is as good as it gets in tracking down info.  If he says something, he knows something.  He is not a click-bait guy.  I see not giving him credit for calling Jabrill or Dax or Rashan Gary.  Only the misses - which he has no control over of course.

Second, the rule with Sam is if he's not talking about someone and they are set to announce - he's not coming to Michigan.  Conversely, if he is talking about them, Michigan is in the hunt and that is all you can ask for.  Pay attention to those and see where they go.  Expecting to win every recruitment, particularly the elite players is going to set you up for a world of constant disappointment.  There are 120 some teams and like 30 total 5 stars - a whole lot of schools are going to be disappointed.

Last, Sam has said on his radio shows REPEATEDLY that he doesn't know if Michigan gets Nolen and thinks it is a hard pull.  He says it once or twice a show when discussing him.  Ignoring this and then saying he is constantly wrong is silly.

Well this is a bit of a…

Well this is a bit of a nonsense statement given the Covid rankings.  Basically there is no or limited film from most of these guys as juniors.  It looks like a number of them will jump and jump significantly when they can play live football again.  Does that help abate Preacher Tears?

Here is what I know for a fact - the coaches have forgotten more football than I (and Preacher Mikey) will ever know and I trust they know how to identify talent and there are plenty of examples of such.  Such is the recruiting game - you win some and lose some.  Such is always the way.  For everyone (not named Alabama).

They staff needs time but also its still early and there will be a number of players who will emerge when they start playing again.

Definitely need the beef. …

Definitely need the beef.  Heard on the various podcasts he may eventually be an OT though.  Either way it looks good here from what I can feel

I put Tatum at under 10%…

I put Tatum at under 10% from reading the tea leaves. If he was coming, this would be over. Feels like he is taking himself a little too seriously. Agree with other likely ones. Might even put Jacob’s up there based on latest wtka insider cast.

Well the people who are…

Well the people who are slamming Sam and don’t understand Colorado are likely the same - uninformed.

His dad is a life long Colorado fan and so is the kid. They have been in it the whole time. So comments about Colorado don’t make sense.

sam is a pro and doesn’t say things to say things. It’s not like he has any control over 18 year old kids and their decisions. Plus he’s a reporter, not a coach. Kids change their minds for the dumbest reasons all the time. If there’s someone with a better pulse on this stuff for Michigan, who is it?

Something odd happened here. If I were to make a complete, unsubstantiated guess - maybe it’s the whole required vaccine thing. Would seem odd to from leader to completely out without something major.

I use the GolfShot app for distance on the course.  Has a nice app for your iWatch so just need to look at your wrist.  Also now has a shot tracker to track your entire round which is kind of cool.

Blast Golf - take it to the range to video my swings.  Feel aint real bro.

Best investment?  - for those who are mediocre like myself, chek out RotarySwing program.  It is awesome.  I've already seen a huge difference in my swing and for all us northerners, you can do 90% of the drills in your house without a club.

Dumb and Dumber is legendary.  Liar Liar is very good.  I will also say Ace Ventura 2 is a tour de force Jim Carey performance.  Peanuts?

Not a movie, but if you haven't checked out Formula 1 on Netflix, it is simply awesome.  Highly recommended.

Someone has to do it...... I…

Someone has to do it...... I will duck afterwards....but I have started CrossFit over a year ago (after having dabbled on my own in the past, weights and muay thai for a number of years) and love it.  It is something that needs to be approached mindfully - you certainly can injure yourself if push weights too much and without proper instruction.  My gym is great and most of the participants are around my age (45) or older and you see the same people again and again.  Functional weight training, gymnastics and high intensity are incredible for your health and fitness so long as you do what you are comfortable with and rest when your body tells you.  After awhile, I also noticed I needed to match my food with the workouts - cut out the sugars and the processed foods will take you a long way.

This steroid is actually…

This steroid is actually used by mountainclimbers who are suffering from altitude sickness becuase they are finding that COVID is not attacking the lungs but actually blood cells, specifically stripping red blood cells of nitrogen.  Why is N important?  Because it helps to exchange CO for O in the lungs.  In essence, COVID is causing people to suffocate, much like they do from altitude sickness.  Thus, it should be logical that a steroid that allows people to quickly from altitude sickness would assist in helping those who were struggling to breathe for lack of oxygen.

Great question.  If  I could…

Great question.  If  I could find time with my buddies, might have a different set of answers.  I like others have a few story-esque games a year I enjoy.  Also like team-based FPS, but really need a good team or it sucks.  PS4 and Switch owner.

Overwatch is the best game for FPS, easy to learn, tough to master.  Great balance.  So fun.

Story games.  Am almost done with Control - cool game and storyline.  New God of War is awesome.  Just started Death Stranding - a little close to home today but graphics are simply stunning.  Game can be slow but a completely different game than any I have maybe ever played.  Hideo Kojima is legend (think Metal Gear V is next after DS for me).
