I had Rhabdo

and I can tell you that it takes a long time to come back.  Mine was brought about by another medical condition but it took me a good year to get back to being in somewhat decent shape.  You are in pain for a long time and working out is much more painful.  I always thought it was a bunch of BS when they said the players would be ready to go soon.  Next season will be rough on them and I imagine they will be more injury prone.  I can honestly say that I hope I never go through that again.

Steve Smith Giving $2.5 mill to your former school is pretty cool. Lots of other charitable work too.
Games in Denver would be great!

Live near Denver and got my MBA from DU.  Now, who to root for.....

If he stays

and has a spectacular season next year what do you think the odds are that he will stick around much longer?  If I were him I would take the next solid opportunity and move on.  I wouldn't put up with this @#$@ year in and year out.

Curious

Just out of curiosity how can you critcize and be labeled as bitter and not a hater?  You seem to have listed most of the available criticisms as something only a hater would say.  Many, of course, are valid as comments that a hater would say but others?  Of course I'm not going to state my thoughts on each point because I would then be considered a hater.

Wow

We all know college football is an emotional game played by very young adults.

Very well said.  Kind of makes me mad for getting ticked off at the players when they do something stupid.  Easy to get so caught up in the game that you tend to forget that.

My Theory

is that people want to support a winner unless they have a pretty strong affiliation with another team such as being a student or alum.  People jump on the Spartan bandwagon because they have a great basketball team.  They jump on the Wolverine bandwagon because of the football team.  One thing that I've noticed is a lot fewer Notre Dame shirts walking around.  If they ever start winning again you'll see the shirts in droves just like you'll start seeing a lot of Lions shirts after they win it all this year!

What State Needs to do

when Izzo leaves is hire Bob Huggins and in a year or two, after Dantonio fails, hire Bill Stewart.  Can't imagine how ticked off the people of West Virginia would be with the state of Michigan.

6 hours!

How fast do you drive?

This Stinks!

This was about my only chance to see big ten teams here in Colorado.   Guess I'll have to continue to Tivo the games and go Skiing instead :-(

Who was it that said...

What happens when you win the lottery and become a millionaire?  You quit your job.  It was in reference to pro basketball players.  I don't think Izzo can handle not being in complete control of the players.

Go Colorado!!

I live in Colorado now.  It would be great to see games in person again.

Thanks

I imagine reading through everything would probably cure most anyones insomnia.  Thankfully I don't have it so it was nice to read a concise review.  I don't understand.  Don't these people run into one another a couple times a week?  I think I have more personal interaction with my boss and she's a couple thousand miles away.  They should have copied Rich Rod on some of these requests.  He can be pretty intimidating.  Last thing I would want is him showing up in my office asking why I haven't provided the information.  I would have gotten on it immediately.

Jump Ship That's what the WalMart types do. They have to find something in their miserable lives that makes them proud so they only root for the winners. They jump ship as soon as the team starts to lose. Real fans stay whether they went to the school or not.
Sadly it's impacting the entire state I live out west and when I tell people I'm from MI all they think of is Detroit and Flint and, to a lesser extent, the Lions. They've forgotten about the lakes, the U.P. and all the other great things the state has to offer. Many state that they would never vacation in MI, much less consider taking a job anywhere in the state. It's sad but Detroit and Flint have brought the entire state down with them. Let's hope they get things back on track soon.
No Dissent Allowed!!!
Excellent point Remember though that kids on other teams should be given the same respect as well. Rip on Izzo or the other coaches but if a kid is a clean player (i.e. not a thug) give him the respect he deserves even if he is on the other side of the ball. Many peoplpe said some pretty bad things about good hardworking spartan players after the lose yesterday. It's not right.
Bring In DANTONIO!!! /sarcasm
Let's not forget Pacman and Henry Hard to throw stones at just State. Rich Rod has had his fair share of failures after leaving his program.
Neg Away, but I have to give Dantonio credit. "We have to play better and coach better,". At least he's willing to take the blame for poor coaching. Wish Rich Rod would do the same.
It's not the fact that he It's not the fact that he left. I can appreciate why he did it, it's how he did it that's always bothered me. He praised the school and the state and said that it was his dream job and turns right around and runs off. Again, I have no problem with why he left I just think the way he left speaks poorly of him.
I have to disagree. After I have to disagree. After the way he left WVU I wouldn't play for him because I don't think I would be able to trust him. If I had a choice I would pick a coach like Paterno but then again his so freakin old I wouldn't be able to count on him being there for my entire career either. Then again it's not like any coach would have recruited me in the first place.
Excellent job! I didn't Excellent job! I didn't check the little bar website but the legal age to enter a bar in OH is 18, unless you're Pryor I guess.
Legal Age is 18 The legal age to get into a bar in OH is 18. Now, if he had a beer in his hand that's another story.
Time Outs What was with calling the timeouts at the end of the game? That was as classless as Dantonio doing it at the end of last year's Penn State game when they were getting killed. I hope this kind of petty act isn't a sign of things to come.
Wouldn't you think After a while Temp wouldn't matter. I mean, how long does it take to become used to cold temps. Look at altitude. It takes a few days to be somewhat okay with it but a couple months to be comfortable. I'm not a doctor but I would think he would be used to it by now. At least as much as most people can get used to chilly temps.
Why was Forcier in at the end? He's not 100%, the game is lost, what was the point of having him in at the very end? Maybe I could see keeping him in for game experience if he was healthy; maybe. But he's hurting and exposed. He took one hit towards the end that I'm sure didn't help matters. I think that this should also be noted as a bad coaching decision.
Why What I want to know is WHY Rich Rod left Forcier in the game with 2 minutes left! Talk about stupid. Put your starting, banged up QB, in at the end of a game there is no chance of winning. Does he want him to get knocked out for the season. What the heck was he thinking?
I Think Forcier's injury may be a little worse than we were led to believe, hence trying to force the run. He played a hell of a game and except for some freshman mistakes (jump balls) he showed a lot of poise. I am now very impressed by the conditioning program. How many other defenses can spend that much time on the field and still be able to stop the other team towards the end of the game. State deserved to win, they outplayed us. Perhaps I prefer sheer dominance but I hope we don't become one of those teams that wins because of some big plays, or lucky bounces, rather than outplaying the other team.
Everyone acts like he never Everyone acts like he never met the new guys but wouldn't he have met them during offical visits? Sure, it was a stupid comment and not well thought out but then again he's still a kid. It just seems as though there's something there or we wouldn't be hearing things like this from players as they're leaving.
just a couple of things... "Morpheus turns out to be a low-level strength and conditioning coach." Excuse me for just discovering this site. When was the cutoff for signing on so that you could be considered credible? I do not see how my post was inflamatory. Sure, if I came on and said "MI sucks" then yes, I would have to agree with you. I made my post because I am concerned. Forgive the pun but I think many on this board see the world through rose colored glasses. To me , things do not look as good for MI and I think that a mistake has been made with the hiring of Rich. Please think before you bash.
What went down regardless of who was involved it was an embarrassment, quit trying to candy coat it and act like since the coach involved was low level it was okay. It shows a lack of discipline and respect. Perhaps screaming at your players isn't the best way to get them to respect you.
I have to agree, almost "They've grabbed a high quality coach with 20 years of experience young enough to stay at Michigan for 20 years, which is a combination you never see." Perhaps you should have said "you WILL never see". If we see a few good years out of him and he has the opportunity to jump ship he'll be gone in a flash. He proved at WVU that he has no loyalty. Also, you failed to mention the fight on the sideline. It was embarassing to see a player shove a coach out of anger and frustration. No matter how bad the team is the coaches should demand respect and this proves that that is not the case with Rich and his staff.
