Debord the puppet master in Lloyd's stead? This is clearly the thread for the hardest core of the tinfoil hat crew.

Who really knows a lot about the inner workings of the athletic department and doesn't make unfounded extrapolations from rumors.

Doesn't a walk-on, by definition, know that his scholarship is going to be deferred by a year?
|5 weeks 15 hours ago||Because a football team has a lot of players, for one||
The impact on a football program of one decommitment is a fraction of the impact on one player when someone pulls shit like Mullen did (or Miles has done in the past, let's not forget.)
An 18-year old kid makes a commitment to *one* school, and two weeks before he's supposed to start there they tell him he's no longer wanted. The effect this has on that kid's life is nothing like the effect on a football team when one scholarship player out of 85 backs out at the last minute.

Miles sure ran an SEC-style outfit when he was at Oklahoma State. No idea why you think he'd be able to change his stripes at Michigan.

Slaughtering bison and one-man manifest destiny? That's some high-octane figurative language, my friend.

Bielema and Stoops are not in the same neighborhood, by a long shot.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||Honestly||
The Hoke clone stuff I'd dead-on from a football perspective - if Miles didn't recruit like he was in the middle of the Deep South with unlimited booster cash, he'd be Hoke on Red Bull. Inane in-game management and an inability to field an offense that is close to reflecting the talent of recruits? Leslie's got that in spades. And, sexual improprieties aside, he's just about as sleazy as they come. Lied to Jai Eugene (and who knows how many others) about Lloyd having a serious health condition. Turned Okie State into an absolute circus in terms of academic and behavioral standards for players -- Gundy had to go full Charlie Strong on that program to clean it up, and it's not exactly Harvard over there.
Miles would be an unmitigated disaster of a hire. If you think to yourself, 'hey, Hoke's pretty good, but I wish he said more goofy shit and was willing to drag UM football into the gutter,' then Miles is your man. I am so, so fucking relieved in the knowledge that Schlissel won't go near him with a ten foot pole and an Ebola suit.

|6 weeks 5 days ago||Damn||
Did Devin bang your sister and never call her again or something? You're really out to slam him on pretty much every thread you can find.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||I saw him play last year||
For most of the year, he was quite good. He was abysmal against Akron and UConn, pretty awful against NU, and awe-inspiring against ND, Indiana (yes, I know), and OSU. He has not, and will not, looked close to a fraction of the quarterback he was last year. He is broken.
And so help me god, if one more person says we might want to keep Nussmeier because they remember being excited about him and he did coach Bama and everything, I'm going to lunch myself in the fucking eye.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||Gardner is broken mentally||
But also physically. I truly think the farthest he can throw the ball down field is around 25 yards this year. His arm strength is absolutely shot.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||Not saying you're wrong||
So we need 3-5 of one of the best athletes to ever play at Michigan.
I agree that this would make us more formidable.
|6 weeks 6 days ago||He had the rep||
But he never seemed all that fast to me. I actually think Mike Shaw may have been faster.
Darryl Stonum was real fast.

All college coaches have control over a football program in ways NFL coaches don't. There are no college GMs.
|7 weeks 6 days ago||Uh huh||
And how much better did Gardner look under Borges?
Gardner was very good last year, and was stunningly so against OSU.
|7 weeks 6 days ago||Jesus||
The people who say this are operating on blind fucking faith.
Results-based muhfuckin' charting says Nussmeier's been abysmal. Good coaching = execution.

Doesn't make any fucking sense. I've yet to hear anything that convincingly links people being sorta mean to Rodriguez and the failures of his teams on the field. Maybe not letting him back up the Brinks truck to get Casteel, but that's not such a sure thing as people like to think, IMO. But certainly other than that, blaming Rodriguez's failed tenure on vague bad juju in the AD is the squishy epitome of feelingsball silliness.

About that one year when Gardner was very good for all but 2-3 games despite being pulverized every time.

It has been talked about? By whom?
|9 weeks 2 days ago||Hey DAVE||
You sound like a Glenn Beck- listenin', tobacco-chewin' Tea Party shill here.
Or a Roseanne Barr-votin', hemp-powered-car-drivin' lefty wackadoo.
Hard to say.
Either way, slow your fuckin' roll with the partisan politics talk.
|9 weeks 2 days ago||HISTORY PEDANTRY BOMB||
Manchester liberalism (and lowercase liberalism everywhere but America, really) meant free trade, extremely limited government, and the lowest taxes possible.
Put another way, 'neoliberalism' is derived from 'Manchester liberalism,' which historically speaking is just 'liberalism'.
In American politics, liberalism means 'leftish-type politics.' But once you throw Manchester in front, you're talking about something specific.

You don't know shit, or you'd realize that there never would have been a need for the Wolverine Liberation Army to split off from MGoBlog if Brian was a fellow traveler.
But seriously, the use of the term makes you sound a bit hysterical and silly.
