The one thing that kept coming to my mind over and over again on Saturday was how well they tackled. The other thing I was thinking that is this type of performance will only reinforce to the players to believe in their coaches....I do not buy in that the Freep Article "brought the team together". I 100% believe it was the coaches that have developed this team to get the best out of the players by putting them in position to make plays. The competition (depth eventually) will keep the players on the field focused to make the plays.
Think about how you felt after the PSU win in 1997. For me that is when I knew our team was special....not saying this is a special team yet. But the way the team tackled on defense yesterday, our poise at QB and the way OSU struggle against Navy I can see Great Posibilities one game at a time.
I root only for my team.....I live in SEC country and it is amazing that SEC fans consider Georgia winning the Little League World Series a few years back somehow linked to SEC supremacy....these idiots take credit for any win no matter what...it is hard to explain. It would be like a Big Ten fan saying it is a Big Ten win if the Chicago Bulls win the NBA championship or Pittsburgs winning the Stanley Cup.
If you need to live ficariously (sp) through other teams then you need to re-examine if your a true fan. I cannot root for my rival.
I was pretty impressed with his arm. You could tell that the game was moving pretty fast for him and he was making very quick decisions. If the game slows down for him he may surprise us all with his balance.
I was disappointed in Sheridan as well....but his play today only reinforced that QB play killed us last year. On the interception he made a bad decision by throwing late accross his body over the middle of the field into coverage...his brain thinks his body can do things it cannot. He needs to stay off the field. I don't want to get too down on the kid but his role on this team is not on the field if we are going to be successful.

I watched 3 or 4 Florida Games last year and I am struggling to remember them throwing many over the top? A agree that we do not need to have the 20 yard passes down field to win in this offense.
I went to the 2007 FSU vs Kentucky Music City Bowl. The FSU team came to the stadium on the Little Bus, they only had about 15 players on the sideline.
Once I finished reading this post and came to yours.....you said EXACTLY what I was thinking.....No way Sheridan should have ever started 1 game let alone multiple games for UM and no way he should be part of the QB solution over 2 seasons. I thank Nick for his efforts and at least being there when needed but no way will RR invest in him going foreword....his time has passed...
I loved the RR hire since day one, through thick and thin I know he is putting good things in place and have given RR the benefit of doubt and ever issue from the exit of WVa to the 3-9 season.......except one. Should have retained Lefty.
I watched the game on Fox Sports Detroit Alternative on Direct TV last night. They did have a decent shot of the hit from behind. They showed it 1 time and stopped it right after the hit and didn't show the slash to Kampfer when he was on the ice. The announcers briefly commented on it and it was almost like someone told them to not discuss it and they went on to another topic after a few WOW's.....did anyone else see it that way??
College National Championship that will work to select a Champion and keep the Bowl System virtually in tact. Presidence may approve, televisions contracts stay in place.
1) Have all regular season games and/or conference championships end on or before the last weekend in November.
2) Take the (6) BCS conference champions plus 2 at-large teams based on the BCS rankings have a Championship Saturday on the 1st Saturday in December.
a) There will still be some issues on team 7 and 8 but better than teams 1 and 2.
3) Give a home game to the Top 4 teams based on BCS rankings where 1 plays 8, 2 plays 7, 3 plays 6, 4 plays 5. This rewards the top 4 teams with an added home game. By being a home game you do not have to worry about the fan base traveling multiple times.
4) This cleans the slate for the bowls leave all the non BCS bowls alone as they are today.
5) For the BCS bowls. 1st year have the 4 winners of the Championship Saturday games play in the Rose and Orange bowls and the 4 losers play in the Fiesta and Sugar. Alternate winners and losers every other year between the bowls (2nd year winners go to Fiesta and Sugar).
6) Then 1 week later have the BCS plus 1 game between the winners of Orange and Rose (year 1). This game would alternate between the 4 sites as is the current format.
Keeps everything in place, Having strong Non Conference Schedule will not hurt you.....Win your conference and your in.
