As an MGoDoc who has delivered hundreds of babies, I have to echo Blukon Cornelius above. If something pops into your head which seems funny, believe me, it's only funny to you. The nurses and docs have heard every lame version of that joke before, and your wife won't be in the mood. Keep it to yourself.
I agree with above comments regard costs. We have a very similar situation, UM family ties, out of state, similar scores. He got in to Michigan and Purdue among others.
He went to Purdue. It turned out that for us, engineering out of state at Purdue, considering lower tuition and better scholarship/aid, was $20K/year less than UM. Saved $80K and played quads for 4 years on the Purdue drumline. Worked out OK.
East Quad. Went home and told my mom I had found the person I would marry. She accepted the invitation for the first date, then called and canceled. It took a couple of years but we finally got together and were married in Ann Arbor our third year of med school 30 years ago this December. Best decision I ever made.
It is not just about football, but soccer as well. My son played 4 years of center midfield collegiate soccer...5 career concussions and hundreds and hundreds of headers.
I've seen the movie and I thought Will Smith was pretty good.
On the bench. Right in front of us in fact. We had a hard time seeing the game because of all of the folks coming down the aisle to get pics during the game.
We were there. Most were kids and they were just escorted off. They were rougher with the adults.
Half were out to meet the players, get a signature, get a pic...the others went straight toward Ronaldo. Nobody really got that close to him before they were intercepted.
We surprised the kids with tix to the Rose Bowl in 2005. They lost our luggage on the flight out from St Louis. You know the outcome of the game. My wife and I have boarded the plane to fly home, seated in the same row across the aisle from one another, kids in the middle and window seats. A hungover Texas football player boards, pauses at our row, and vomits up and down and around the aisle.
I'm an Michigan lifer, but my oldest kid is a Purdue freshman in mech eng and tenors player on the Purdue drumline. Needless to say, we now see some Purdue games. The irritating thing about the BBD is that in a stadium, the timing of the beats is always off. The bigger the stadium, the more the beat is off. Last Saturday in Michigan Stadium it was off by more than we've ever heard before.
Still the AAMB is a pretty darn good band.
