So it's strange to wear a jersey of a 18-22 year old, but it's not strange to stalk out 15-17 year olds on Twitter, Facebook, Vine, or whatever other social media there is out there? You signed up on this site to talking about everything Michigan football. That's, not weird, but wearing a jersey is? Hanging onto a 16-17 year old's words like it's life or death if they commit to Michigan or not isn't weird, but wearing a jersey is? Looking at progress pictures of 19 year old kids from freshman to sophomore year with their shirts off isn't weird, but wearing a jersey is?

Jesus Christ, some people need to get in touch with reality and quit with the 'holier than thou' attitude.

I wear a Reggie Bush jersey to every Lions game. I'm 30, he's 29. I guess that makes me some weird creeper pedophile that wants to be his girlfriend. I thought it was me showing my love and support for my favorite player and team, but apparently I'm just a giant weirdo.

Fuck people, you know what's fucking weird? If you're a guy worrying about what other guys wardrobes consists of. That's fucking weird.

Just my two cents:
I don't

Just my two cents:

I don't think he was talking about this specifically, but generally speaking with everything that's going on.  As soon as someone in the public spotlight makes any kind of non P.C. statement, the media is all over it.  Thus, in turn, makes everyone commenting on it look like a huge hypocrite.  Regardless if he's disabled or not, everyone has made fun of someone in their lifetime.  Unless you were a nun out of the womb, everyone has done this.  So making fun of someone not disabled is ok, but making fun of somone that is disabled is not ok?  Do you see where this doesn't make any sense at all?

The thing is, it was an honest mistake.  They thought it was a joke.  When they found out it wasn't, they owned up to their mistake like real men do.  That should be the end of the story right there.  The whole Donald Sterling thing, I don't think anything less would've happened if he would've made a public apology, but he's been quiet ever since the story broke.  Bad move on his part.  Do you really believe all these NBA players lauding him, or threatening to boycott have never used a racial slur behind closed doors?  Let's be honest...  This is what I have a problem with.

"Detroit logic."
Trashing

"Detroit logic."

Trashing Detroit teams on a MICHIGAN blog. I guess I fail to see any logic in that. People from other states go to/root for the University of Michigan, I get it. The majority of people that go to/root for the University of Michigan are from Michigan. The majority of those Michigan fans also root for Detroit teams. Tread lightly my friend.

Yeah, I just gave up all

Yeah, I just gave up all Michigan sports teams too! I'm now the proud fan of Alabama Football. Miami Heat, Chicago Blackhawks, Boston Red Sox, Louisville Cardinal Basketball, and whoever wins this years Super Bowl!!

/s

Seriously, this is ridiculous. Stop rooting for a team not only to bandwagon a division rival, but also a team that you have no affiliation with whatsoever? Serious question: how long before you start rooting for Ohio State?

Where about in Fenton? I'm

Where about in Fenton? I'm also in Fenton without power. Second time in two months without power. First time was the wind storm a few weeks ago a tree fell on our power lines. I'm doing crazy good with luck this year.

This coming from someone that

This coming from someone that said "haha youre mad."

Yeah...

I am an avid reader of the

I am an avid reader of the comics.  I too was confused at how the whole Governer situation was handled, but Kirkman has said many times that the show and comics are two seperate entities.  The show borrows from the source material, but that's about it.

With that sad, I think the term "jumped the shark" is thrown around way too loosely.  The first part of last season was amazing.  The second part lost soom steam.  The last episode was pretty disappointing to those of us that read the comic, but, I fail to see how this show jumped the shark.  Honestly, you think Walking Dead has hit complete rock bottom that it will never be able to recover?  Come on now...  That would be like me saying Game of Thrones jumped the shark after the Red Wedding episode.

Ugh.  I hated this pick.

Ugh.  I hated this pick.  Loved the player, but to pick him that high was ridiculous.  The concussion he had at Cal was brutal.  Of course it wouldn't scare off the Lions though.

Best of luck to him.  If he wasn't cleared by now, he needs to retire.  It's not worth it.

I don't know what's more

I don't know what's more embarassing...  Sucker punching someone, or being 6'2 235 and barely making the kid wobble with a sucker punch.

Leino didn't have a good 1st

Leino didn't have a good 1st year (55 games, 11 pts) but he had an incredible 2nd year (81 games, 53 pts.)  The point being, and I've said this before, Holland doesn't want to give up prospects for players like Ryan or Nash but he wants to sign or re-sign these old vets (Alfredsson 40, Cleary 35) and keep pushing these prospects back in the minors.  To me, it doesn't make any sense to say to no to trading for a big name player only to bring back guys like Cleary and push guys like Nyquist and Andersson back to the AHL.

It also bugs me when Jim Nill leaves Detroit and shows he isn't afraid to make major moves in Dallas.  That's just me though.  I'm obviously no NHL GM.

I wonder if Brunner is going

I wonder if Brunner is going to turn into another Leino situation.  Play somewhere else, have a fluke of a season, Wings fans get mad at Holland and say he's stupid, signs a large deal then disappears.

Because nothing with Dwight

Because nothing with Dwight Howard has ever been weird?

Dude is a headcase, I wouldn't want him anywhere near my team.  LeBron got a lot of heat for "The Decision" but Dwight has now done this with two different teams.  His mind doesn't change every day, now it changes every hour.  I used to like Dwight, I can't stand the guy now.

Then the Sens trade for Bobby

Then the Sens trade for Bobby Ryan...  Ugh...  It seems like the Wings don't want to give up prospects in deals (like Nash last year) but are willing to sign 40 year olds and bury those prospects in the AHL.  They're going to have to trade a forward or two now anyway.  Tootoo, Bertuzzi, Samuelsson, and Eaves.  Tatar is out of options.  Nyquist and Andersson should be on the team next year.

I'm not quite ready to bang on Holland's door like some people but some of these deals, or lack there of, have made me scratch my head over the past few years.

Sigh...  Remember a few years

Sigh...  Remember a few years ago when Boston offered Rondo and the Pistons rejected?

Allen and Rondo for Rip, Tayshaun, and Stuckey.  I would have took the trade then.  I've never been a fan of Stuckey.

Now I'm reading that the Celtics would want Monroe in return.  I'd deal Monroe but only if they pick up Josh Smith which isn't looking likely.

You're talking about

You're talking about Tournament teams.  There are upsets every year, but Butler was the exception.  Stevens was 166-49 in 6 seasons at Butler and he made the Tournament 5 times.  They went to the Championship game two years in a row.  For a Mid-Major, that's pretty incredible.  I wouldn't quite say there are teams like Butler every year but there are some Mid-Majors that do buck the trend every once in awhile.

Then get rid of Bertuzzi and

Then get rid of Bertuzzi and Samuelsson.  I can't believe they actually thought bringing back Samuelsson was a good idea and at $3 mil/year to boot.  Nyquist can easily fill what Samuelsson was (or wasn't) doing every night.

The UFA's this year are

The UFA's this year are horrible.  Lecavalier, Horton, and Bickell are about the only ones I'd want the Wings to go after.  CBS has Filppula as the #4 overall UFA.  4th overall?!  Yeah, that's bad.  Brunner is 11.  Soon to be 36 year old Iginla is #2.  Sorry, but this free agent pool is horrible.

Yep, I was just going to say

Yep, I was just going to say this.  They can trade his rights to another team, however that usually results in nothing more than a late round pick.  Definitely not a top 10 pick even with Quincey because if he's dealt to a team, there's no guarantee he'll sign with that team.

Rumors are the Wings are talking about trading for Bobby Ryan.  I'd love to see that more than Vinny.  They need a winger much more than they need a center.  If they still want a center, they should go after Weiss.

Well, Morgan was still moving

Well, Morgan was still moving when Triche was in the air, so it was obviously a TITLE GAME ON MONDAY NIGHT BITCHES!!!1!

I LOVE ALL THE SUBS!!!!!!!

I LOVE ALL THE SUBS!!!!!!!

This is why I never complain

This is why I never complain about officials.  Sometimes you lose some, sometimes you win some.  This was our night.  I think we got some crucial calls going our way, however, I think Cuse got away with a couple walks.  So it's all good.

I don't even care right now really.  I've kept pinching myself since Trey's 3 against Kansas.  Go Blue!!!

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the comics, and I don't really like what happened tonight either.

Kirkman said that the comics and the show are two completely different entities.  I kind of figured Andrea was going to die because she was pretty well hated.  I just think that the whole last episode was kind of rushed.  I think that they could have cut out a previous episode and expanded the whole prison attack.

I'm also pretty disappointed that Lilly wasn't even present.

I'll have to watch this episode over again but I feel like the parts that shouldn't have been drawn out (Milton/Andrea) were, and the parts that should have been drawn out (The Governer/The Prison) weren't.

The only redeeming quality was Carl, surprisingly.

Seriously though, what's the

Seriously though, what's the address?

I had subs for dinner last

I had subs for dinner last night, and tonight.  It had to of meant something.

Also...

OMFG TREY BURKE I <3 YOU!!!!

Personally, I like them.

Personally, I like them.  Also, this isn't Nike's doing, it's obviously a rebranding attempt by OSU.  It's not like Nike said "we're going to completely rebrand Oregon State and there's nothing they can do about it!"

As much as people want to bitch and moan about uniforms, it seems like this trend is here to stay regardless of the brand.  I personally think Nike products in general are better than Adidas products, but to each their own.  Not everyone has to agree with me.  I will say that as much crap as the "bleed out" jersey's got, they were the first Adidas product that I actually liked.  Plus look at the MSU game.  The student section was game for the Maize out for once, and it looked pretty bad ass with the bleed out jerseys.

I take it you don't watch

I take it you don't watch boxing...  They jump weights every single fight.  Honestly, if a fighter wants to move up, or down, why shouldn't they be allowed?  If they can make weight and make better fights, then why not?  And as far as I know, GSP has never jumped weight.  He's always been a Welterweight.

The explanation on why Silva fought Griffin is right in your sentence.  Griffin was a former Light Heavyweight Champion, and Silva wants to fight the best.  I don't think anyone thought that Silva would beat Griffin that easy.

Bisping has only had 3 #1 contender fights in 17 UFC fights since '06, and not counting the TUF finale.  He lost them all.

I do think that they do make moves for money purposes, but isn't that exactly what they're trying to do?  Make money?  I don't think anyone owns a business not to make money.

I do agree with you on one thing though, they have way too many cards.  I can't keep up with the UFC anymore, which is probably why I stopped watching it so much.  4-5 years ago I watched every card.  I'm lucky to remember if there is a PPV on now.  As I've said before though, I can't really fault them if they're making money off all the cards they're putting out there.

Pretty sure that they also

Pretty sure that they also have Michigan cups...  At least they did a year or so ago, they had both schools, you got to choose one.  They also had glass cups for the Big Chill.  They actually sponsored the game.

Also, McDonald's sucks.

I don't really know what to

I don't really know what to believe.  I don't think I even honestly care anymore.  I do enjoy watching this train wreck unfold.

Was he duped?  Sure.  Wasn't there a whole movie that is now a TV show based on this?  He's what?  21/22?  So he "met" this person in 2010 making him 19/20?  It's not absurd to think that he is just that gullible.  I can guarentee you that this "catfishing" stuff dupes someone on a daily basis.

If he was in on it, it's shady as hell, but he didn't actually hurt anyone.  There's more people talking about this story than the Belcher story.  What's worse?  Having a fake girlfriend, or killing your real girlfriend?  The cancer community might have a bone to pick with him for having his fake girlfriend die from cancer, but his real grandma actually died of cancer.  It's just an odd thing to make up, but there are far worse offenses done by professional players.

The most egregious part of this entire story is ND having a press confrence about a fake girl that fake died when they can't even hold a press conference about a REAL girl that accused football players of rape.  What's wrong with that University?

From what I've read (I

From what I've read (I believe this was the ESPN interview) he did try to Skype, but the video was always black.  He did ask for a dated photo after "she" called in December.  He did try to meet "her" in Hawai'i, "she" never showed up so he lied to his dad.

In all honesty, it sounded

In all honesty, it sounded like he was just wishing the kid luck and typing out on why it made sense for him to go there.  If anyone sounds like they're writing a post to their ex-girlfriend, it's you.  Why are you so obsessed with what other people type on here regarding a recruits decision?

As far as "none of us know him!!!"  Really?  Because thise board gossips about a plethora of Michigan players that I'm sure 99% of the people on here don't know personally.  So should we stop talking about Gibbons liking brunettes, or Denard's dillithium, ect. ect. because none of us know them?  Come on know.  Your post just sounds like sour grapes.

Yeah, I don't understand all

Yeah, I don't understand all the hate either besides it being an idea of a Sparty.  A Final Four type event at the begining of the season on Veteran's Day for 30,000 troops seems like a pretty solid idea to me.  The only "stupid" part of the idea was trying to find one network to air all four games.  As the article stated, the networks didn't want to tie up all their channels.  They would basically be competing with themselves.

And now 51.

And now 51.

Well...  At least Calvin got

Well...  At least Calvin got me 47 pts in my PPR league championship game.  Sadly, I'm playing against Ryan, who scored 56.  -sigh

I guess I'm failing to see

I guess I'm failing to see that there was an "arguement" to begin with.

I'm not denying that the Ford's are horrible owners.  But even the beloved Illitch was once owner of one the worst franchise in sports.  Honestly, if the NHL was still un-capped, and Illitch still owned the Tigers, do you think the Tigers would be where they are today?

Look, if you want to start rooting for teams you have no affliation with just because they win, that's on you.  I guess I just don't understand it.

I agree to an extent.  They

I agree to an extent.  They need some character, so I don't completely disagree with the drafts.  Fairley hasn't really done anything to damage his self image besides being caught with weed.  They just need to cut ties with Titus though.  That guy is a cancer and should never play another down in the NFL again.  Sucker punching a teammate is one thing, lining up wrong and running wrong routes on purpose after everything he's done is a disgrace.

They cut Aaron Berry as an example, but do nothing to the rest of the players that are actually causing problems.

You realize that Illitch

You realize that Illitch bought the Tigers in '92, had 12 losing seasons, including an 119 loss season, correct?  He only started pouring money into the Tigers once the NHL got capped.  I take it during those years you said the Tigers would never win with Illitch as their owner, and started rooting for the Yankees?

During the late 80's-early 90's the Pats sucked too.  They even had a 1-15 season.  Are you still going to keep rooting for them if they hit another 1-15 year?  Or are you going to jump back on the Lions bandwagon once they start winning?

I'm sorry, but I'm not going to stop rooting for my hometown team because they suck.  I've been spoiled with Michigan football, the Wings, the Pistons to an extent, and more recently the Tigers.  One shitty pro sports team to root for isn't really that bad.  Plus it makes it more fun when they actually win.

They need to stop wasting

They need to stop wasting high picks on players with an injury history.  Best and Broyles.  Waste of two top picks.  I didn't have a problem with the Lions taking them.  They are both talented players.  High risk high reward.  They just took them way too high.  Best should have went in the 2nd round at best, probably should have dropped to the 3rd round just because of injuries.  I think Broyles is a great player, but he should have went more around round 4/5.

I really hope they can draft Te'o.  I wanted him with the Lions ever since I saw him try to run down Gallon during the UTL game.  Milliner would be my 2nd choice.

Exactly.  He might have made

Exactly.  He might have made it the first time, but he didn't even try.  Both times his momentum was going towards the sidelines but then he decided to cut it upfield.

Yes.  This is exactly what I

Yes.  This is exactly what I want to do.  I'm going to become a Pats fan.  Also, I'm going to start rooting for Alabama football, Kentucky basketball, SF Giants, LA Kings, Heat, and Man U.  I love jumping on bandwagons instead of rooting for my hometown teams.  It's so much more fun that way.

Does Bell have any idea that

Does Bell have any idea that getting out of bounds stops the clock?  Twice he was running towards the sidelines then cut it upfield only to get tackled and keep the clock running.  Unreal.

"And for Brown, who is suing

"And for Brown, who is suing the NFL because he says the NFL didn’t do enough to protect players from concussions, to celebrate the fact that he once stood by and allowed an opponent to take an injury-causing free shot at a teammate, is pitiful."

Sums it up perfectly.

Yes, because Wikipedia is

Yes, because Wikipedia is always 100% correct.

Manny agreed to a blood test 14 days before the fight:

http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/sports/05/26/10/floyd-silent-after-pacquiao-oks-14-day-blood-test

Also, there's this SI article that says it was a blood test, to a money split, but ultimately a pride issue with co-promoting a fight with Arum:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/bryan_armen_graham/02/29/mayweather-cotto/index.html

"For years, the issue of random blood testing held up Mayweather-Pacquiao. Now it's the purse split. The real issue is pride.

Bob Arum promotes Pacquiao. Mayweather is his own boss, contracting Golden Boy for promotional duties on a fight-by-fight basis. Arum used to promote Mayweather before Floyd left acrimoniously in 2006. Mayweather would rather pass on the richest prizefight in history than co-promote it with Arum."

So, let's look at the facts:

1 - Blood testing.  Floyd would get tested the day of the fight, Manny would OK testing 14 days before the fight.  Who looks better?  Floyd.

2 - Purse.  "He faces Floyd Mayweather, he's not getting 50-50," Mayweather said of Pacquiao.  "Not at all. No one is getting 50-50."  Floyd offered Manny $40 million with no PPV cut, while Floyd would be taking 100+ million in the PPV buys.  Pacquaio's advisor made a counter offer of $50 million each, a 45/45 split of the PPV gate, and the winner getting the remaining 10%.  Floyd rejected it.  Who looks better?  Manny.

3 - If Floyd really didn't want to co-promote the fight with his former promotor Arum, then obviously Floyd is the loser in this situation too.

Hate Pacquaio all you want, but stop denying the facts.  The random blood testing was an issue two years ago.  Recently, it was a money issue.  Maybe they were just ducking each other the whole time.

If you're worried about what

If you're worried about what rivals have to say on message boards perhaps you have bigger problems...

It's a Michigan board.  Like it or not, Michigan has a softball team.  Get over yourself.

Edit - That was to the douche on here, not to the person above me.  Apologies.

That's what I always wonder.

That's what I always wonder.  If you don't want to read it, why read it?  On top of that, why read it, then complain about reading it?  I don't get it.  It's not like every thread posted on here has a blank title and you have to click on it to see what's inside.

I don't think that some people realize that a lot of MGoBlog users see this news for the first time on MGoBlog.  Some users don't even visit other sports sites such as ESPN or SI.

If the mods didn't think this thread was worthy enough of being here, it would have been taken down already.  It's as simple as that.

It's true.  I snapped this
