I'm 6 hours behind eastern time, and I love noon starts (6am for me).
There is nothing better than watching a Michigan win first thing in the morning. Game is over by 9am, so you have the entire day to do whatever you (and your significant other) please.

Seemingly every head coach is giving the same answer as Harbaugh.
Bill O'Brien was asked about Colin Kaepernick not standing for the national anthem, and what he requires of his team. "I'm going to just tell you that we encourage our players to stand for the national anthem to honor their country," O'Brien said. "That's the way we handle it. I'm not going to speak about any other team. I know the league issued a statement on it. I know that Mr. McNair, myself, Rick Smith are big believers in standing for the national anthem. "Again, I'm a football coach. I'm in charge of coaching the Houston Texans. I'm not going to comment on any other team."
Tigers manager Brad Ausmus was asked about the Colin Kaepernick situation from this weekend, his reaction. He said he understood that the QB was trying to bring light to an issue he cared about, but wasn't sure he'd opt for the same format. Said if it were one of his players, he wouldn't have a problem about that but would prefer a heads-up beforehand.
Lions HC Jim Caldwell said he won't put a mandate on his players to stand during the anthem. If a player chose to do that, he would discuss it with them to find out reasons. Said Colin Kaepernick has right to sit during anthem, but doesn't necessarily agree with it.

Take a look through our openings. The link is to the US openings, but we have openings across the globe, and are hiring in a variety of fields. We're an engineering consulting company, and constantly growing.
Also, I get a $5,000 referral bonus if any of you get hired. So....good luck!

Behind enemy lines never looked so sweet. View is from the top of Koko Head, looking towards Waikiki and Diamond Head.
No viewing party though. I like to enjoy the games from the confines of my apartment at 6:00am local time. Best time of the day to watch football. And a Michigan win sets the mood for the rest of the weekend.

Hawaii with the upset!
Not that we needed it, but giving Harbaugh and Co. a game film for our week 1 game is not very fair to Hawaii. Poor Hawaii.

I was "the other guy"!
To add to your post:
Kodi Kieler is moving positions, from RT last year to C this year.
MSU has no depth. They have bodies, but no depth. I think Patrick Kugler and David Dawson would be viable starters for MSU this season.
I believe this, more than anything, is going to set MSU back this season. You can cover up for lack of experience/talent in the skill positions with great coaching, but you can't hide a weakness on the OL.

Which Good News will struggle the most, and which Bad News will be surprisingly decent?
This one is tough, but I think I have to pick on Maryland. The others just seem like way too much of a strength to warrant second guessing. I don't think any of PSU, OSU, MSU, UofM, or IU will have a problem running the ball against Maryland.
I'm torn between IU pass defense and OSU inexperience everywhere (but notably on the OL); but I have to go with OSU. I don't think I'll believe an OSU regression under Meyer until we see it. Obviously this will be tested early, on the road against OU, but I still think OSU will field a Top-15 team starting with game 1. By game 12, they will be playing at a Top-5 level. (I hate ohio state)
|5 days 6 hours ago||QB||
We know both have strong arms. My question is which one can drop dimes to a streaking Chesson, Harris, or McDoom?
Being able to take the top off of defenses with accurate deep balls is the key to having the offense to win it all this year. LT concerns aside, I think we need to have the QB who can most accurately complete throws in the >25 yard range.

Which Good News will struggle the most, and which Bad News will be surprisingly decent?
-Iowa Secondary: I just have a feeling we will see a regression from Iowa as a whole, and the spotlight will be on their secondary. Are there many teams in the B1G West that can challenge their secondary?? Maybe not, but I just don't see that unit being as great as they were last season.
-NW Offense: I think NW will actually finish better than they did last season. Maybe not a better record (they get IU, MSU, and OSU....woof). But they finish with four winnable games: Wisconsin, Purdue, Minnesota, Illinois. I say they win those 4, beat Duke and are perfect in non B1G games. That's 7 wins. Between Neb/OSU/MSU/IU/Iowa, I say they go 2-3. That'll be a 9-3 regular season, capped off with a bowl win over an SEC team (Auburn).

And I thank you for such a well written response. MSU on paper is weakest both in quality starters and depth at OL and DL. This is something Coach Mark D isn't used to in recent years, and we'll definitely see what he can get out of those two lines.
OSU is in a similar place as MSU regarding inexperience, but the quality of their players is shoulders above MSU (and UofM).
I think we have the best OL (top 7) out of the three. OSU 2nd, and MSU 3rd. Same rankings for DL as well.

There are only 4 correct answers:
The better question (maybe?) would have been which RR/Hoke player would have benefitted the most from Harbaugh coaching/system for 4 years?
I still think Devin Gardner is one of the correct answers; I just think you'd see more variety in answers with this question.

“Bringing the house, baby. He is bringing the house and I’m loving every bit of it because that’s how you coach.
How can we, as fans, not get excited after hearing these kinds of things from the coaches?!?!?!?!
When does the season start?!?!?!?!?
|1 week 3 hours ago||I would love it if OSU was||
I would love it if OSU was undefeated, only so we could have the chance to ruin their perfect season, and playoff chances.
I would like to see MSU have a <6 win season. Shoot them back to pre-2008 relevance in one season.
|1 week 5 hours ago||Offensive Line Concerns||
It's amazing to see all these lists come out listing off all our potential NFL draft picks, especially on the DL and OL, while this is going on at MSU's camp:
"Concern: The outside duo of Machado and Beedle have a total of 17 games, no starts and less than 200 snaps of experience between them. New players need to be worked in sometime, but having that little experience simultaneously in both starting tackle spots is a risk."
"The last time Michigan State had a new left tackle it was Conklin, a redshirt freshman who could hardly earn a Division 1 scholarship offer. So Michigan State's precedent for getting big performances out of inexperienced players at the spot is established, and it's confident in Beedle. But that doesn't mean there's not uncertainty in having a newcomer at the critical spot."
Of note: David Beedle was recruited as a 3* DT, switched to Offensive Guard, and now just started practicing at Tackle.
And we're sweating bullets about the uncertainty of our LT position, how Cole will transition to center (MSU is moving their RT Kieler to C this season by the way), and the two deep should there be an injury.
I think our OL "concerns" pale in comparison to both MSU and OSU. Then throw in the fact that we have probably the best DL in the Nation, and there is reason to be excited. Games are won in the trenches, especially road games against rivals.

Coach thought it'd be fun to put myself and another player, the two smallest kids on the team, at DL (both interior DL). Said we'd be quick enough to go through the OL before they could react....
Long story short, these two twins on the OL thought it'd be equally funny to block us into the ground, and sit on us until the play was over.
Coach kept us on the DL the entire game...
HS football I played FS and WR. I never got sat on again.

No official number yet on how much Hawaii will make by traveling to Michigan, but they are looking at a profit of $400,000+ for the Cal game in Australia.
Last year, they made $1,200,000 for the OSU game, and around $1,000,000 for their game at Wisconsin.

Not sure why the BTN guys are saying RB is a question mark...? We have 3 guys all with a ton of experience returning. After the way Smith ran against Florida, the few bursts we saw from Isaac, and the lightning from Drake, I just don't get it. They are all healthy and our OL should be better at run blocking this year.

Please Please Please finish this OL haul with Ruiz, Slaton, and Wilson.
That would be 7 OL and I think we'd all be OK with that. I wouldn't want anyone to drop out of this class. Stueber and Honigford are straight Harbaugh dudes; tough, hard nosed, physical. Hall and Herbert have potential to be steady OL for 2 years. And the three hopefuls above could compete for playing time in year 1.
With the 2016 class only landing Bredeson, Onwenu, and Spanellis, I think taking 7 this cycle is a graet idea.
2015 cycle we took Newsome, Runyan Jr, and Ulizio. We haven't heard much about Runyan and Ulizio. I assume they are progressing and will push to see the field next season.

And Ferris is doing a great job getting players from FBS squads. So they will continue to have the athletes to go toe-to-toe with GV
