I would like to add on to this, focusing on our "C" position.
Coming into this year, I think we all expected to see Ricky Doyle improve off of last seasons break out year. Unfortunately, we saw the opposite.
Mark Donnal has shown flashes of the kind of player we've heard through the practice hype during his RS year. He's done a fantastic job in his first season getting regular minutes, and I think we are all excited to see him next year.
My biggest concern is the depth at this position, and I can't help but think of what Max "I Have Huge Calves" Bielfeldt could have brought to this team.
Check out his numbers at IU this season:
He's playing more minutes, taking more shots, shooting at a higher % and grabbing more rebounds this season at IU. Granted IU has one of the best offenses in the country, Michigan runs a similar style and would probably have comparable team stats if we had a healthy Caris.
So imagine what Bielfeldt could have done for this team, compared to what we are currently bringing off the bench. Sorry Doyle and DJ, but Bielfeldt can space the floor, battle inside with the bigs of the B1G-10, and is smart on the defensive side.
If this team had a healthy Spike, Caris, and Max, I think we would have won (or at least kept the games close) against some of the RPI Top 50 teams we've played.

I don't mind seeing countless threads concerning this issue.
It's the off-season and this topic relates directly to Harbaugh and Michigan football. I say keep em coming.
I think seeing threads like this are 10x better than random, OT posts which don't generate a discussion.
Harbaugh is having fun ruffling the featers of seemingly everyone in NCAA FBS football, and we have front row seats to the show.

It's all good. It just boggles my mind how seemingly every basketball thread has comments with users unintentionally spelling his name wrong. I just don't get it.

Not to point you out specifically, but.....
HE'S A FREAKING SENIOR! LEARN TO SPELL HIS NAME!
|2 days 21 hours ago||Regarding Urban||
It may be the success of the old "tried and true" recruiting, but take a look at his 2017 class.
6 (of 11) are from Ohio
2 are from Florida
I believe this was brought up in one of the thousands of recruiting posts that circulated around NSD, but Urban has locked down the top talent in Ohio (in 2016 and 2017). Harbaugh has a chance to make waves in Ohio come 2018.
Urban is able to use his personal Florida ties to continue to grab top talent from the Sunshine State.
He also has big time on-field success to his advantage.
Harbaugh saw this cliff he had to overcome to reach Urban's status on the recruiting trail, and Harbaugh and Co. devised a genius plan to make Michigan appealing to recruits nationwide.
We may see Harbaugh cool it on some of these aggressive recruiting tactics once on-field success can speak for itself. But at the moment, Harbaugh is all-in on restoring Michigan, and this is what it looks like.

|3 days 1 hour ago||The Cries Coming from RCMB||
RCMB is on fire right now.
-Harbaugh is the dirtiest coach in America
-He's publicly violating dozens of NCAA violations
-Partridge is our Bag-Man, undeserving of his new $700,000 contract
-They agree with the SEC nuts on Harbaugh being in clear violation of holding practices and camps in SEC territory
My favorite, from NSD day:
-Here at MSU, we prefer quiet, get your fax in early, signing days. We don't need to worry about undecided players on NSD. We don't want, or need, any of these players left on NSD anyways.

Wisconsin is another common opponent for Michigan, MSU, and OSU.
|4 days 16 min ago||K||
So theoretically, this should be the year we finally slow down (or stop) OSU's offense.
- Dominant D Line: Check
- Great Pressure: Don Brown's middle name is pressure.

|4 days 1 hour ago||On that thought||
Didn't Alabama have a pretty good defense when they played OSU in the CFP?
Apparently it's more than just having elite players on the defensive line. Now, Cardale and Elliott are no joke, but they completely shredded Alabama in the air and on the ground.
|4 days 2 hours ago||A good of place as any...||
I was wondering this while watching the superbowl:
Did Denver provide a blueprint on how to shut down an offense designed to beat you in all three phases (very solid RB, spread passing game, and a running QB)?
I think that game highlighted how important it is to have edge rushers that can not only get pressure by themselves, but also can contain the edges to prevent scrambling. Also, getting a significant push from the interior to shrink the pocket. They played aggressive on the WR's, ruining the timing on their routes. The LB's had a simple job: fill the holes, make the tackles, disguise blitzes, and spy Cam Newton. The play of the DL made the job very easy on the LB's.
Anyone else think Denver showed the football world how to entirely shut down that kind of offense?

I think we need to keep testing how much influence Harbaugh can have on people. Obviously that dude didn't want to pie himself, but after 1 minute of listening to Harbaugh, he probably would have pied himself 20 times over then ran through a brick wall.
We need to see more of this!

It's called the "Crossroads of America" for a reason; you drive through it as fast as you can to get to an actual place...somewhere with actual people.
Indiana and Illinois are my least favorite states to drive through.

I love that chart!
Would it be too much to ask for you to put a graph together of the entire Big-10?
Also, looks like the Big-2 are starting to emerge. If the trend of ours (from this graph/table) and OSU's 4 and 5 stars continue to be significantly higher than MSU's and PSU's, we'll both pull away from the rest of the Big-10 by 2019.
|1 week 2 days ago||Defense is definitely Carlo||
Defense is definitely Carlo Kemp. Harbaugh did a BACKFLIP when he committed!! I love guys who can get pressure off the edge, run sideline to sideline, and just flat out hit. Carlo is my man.
Offense is easy: Ahmir Mitchell. 6'3''. Naturally athletic. WR, KR, PR. He knows how to attack the ball at the highest point. Can you say Braylon 2.0!!??
Can't wait to see this entire class grow and evolve into MEN under Jim Harbaugh!

247 Class Calculator has us at 283.65 if we finish with the posted swim lanes. This would all but guarantee us a Top 5 class.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||I believe it's because he's||
I believe it's because he's still very raw. He only has a couple years of football under his belt, and probably hasn't gotten the correct kind of coaching for his skill set. He also played basketball, so he was splitting his time between the two sports.
It's well reported that he has a high upside, which makes him such a coveted target. He has all the tools to be a dangerous player.
The only risk with taking a player like this is whether or not he can be coached into the player all the coaches see he can become. Harbaugh definitely has a unique way of coaching. So we'll see if Nick Eubanks can commit to Michigan, Harbaugh, and himself to become the player we all see he can be.
I think he could be one of our sleeper of the year picks, due to how raw he is.
My sleeper of this class candidates (and order I would rank them) are:
Three pure athletes, with a ton of potential. Can't wait to see them evolve under Harbaugh and Co.

B1G representing in Round 2:

Much closer than Round 1.

|2 weeks 1 day ago||He's in Hawaii...||
I figured since he's vacationing/at the Pro Bowl in Hawaii on Sunday, I'm not sure if he is going to tell his family that the vacation is cut short so he can attend this event.
I may be wrong, but I'd assume he would want to stay in Hawaii with his family for a few days after the Pro Bowl.
