Our receivers are legit.
Butt is as advertised.
Smith runs like a mad man. Sure he misses some holes, but the first guy has trouble bringing him down.

I trust this staff to make the correct decision as much as anyone on this board. But you could tell Rudock was "off" last night. Even Gus Johnson was surprised to see Rudock come back out on the field after the pick 6.
Let's just say I wouldn't be shocked to see Shane start next week.

I would say that Harbaugh went with the QB that he felt gave him the best chance to win a road game against a Top 30 team in a season opener.
And if Morris is really as bad as you believe, why is he listed as #2 (OR 1b) on the depth chart? Shouldn't he be buried behind Gentry and Speight?
All I'm saying is that he needs a fair shake at proving himself in a live game. If we can blow the top off coverage, then we open the running game. Rudock is proven that he can't throw the deep ball. That's his M.O. Ask any Iowa fan. Ask anyone who watches a ton of B1G West games. He just doesn't have the arm to threaten teams with the deep ball. All I'm saying is give Shane a chance.

I know I received a ton of downvotes for requesting a change at QB to Morris. I only said this because I believe that the "OR" on the depth chart was legit, and that we actually had a real QB competition this fall. I think Morris can do more. He's more mobile, he has a much stronger arm, and he may have better chemistry with the receivers.
If he solved his one glaring problem, putting touch on the ball, then I think we should give him a chance. He can't be the same QB we saw last year.

My two cents...It was the qb's fault. Can't make that throw. He made some nice progressions on throws where he has time, but on any 3rd down play, he stares down the primary target the entire time. Not what a 5th year grad transfer should be doing. I'd like to see Shane start next week. Let's see what he's got.

I don't think Harbaugh would allow them to sit at the Big Boy table. They don't even deserve a seat at the kiddie table in the kitchen. Their rightful seat is wherever SMU souls went in 1987 and 1988.

It's a great opening week of college football even if we were to keep our midwest, B1G glasses on. HUGE week for the conference:
Obviously, Michigan @ Utah
TCU, projected to make the playoff, comes to MInnesota, the darkhorse to win the B1G west.
Wisconsin with a primetime match-up against a consensus pick for the playoff, Alabama.
Nebraska gets to preview BYU for us.
Michigan State on the road against and "on-the-rise" WMU.
Northwestern gets to host the darkhorse to win the Pac-12, Stanford.
Penn State and James Franklin open on the road in an interesting game with Temple.
Ohio State looks to get redemption against VT, on the road.
Purdue is another road game, against Rany Moss' alma mater, Marshall.
The rest (Rutgers, Maryland, Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa) look to not embarass the conference with home games against cupcakes.
Of games with betting lines, the B1G is to lose 5 of the 10 (underdogs are Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, Purdue, and Wisconsin). If, as a conference, the B1G were to win at least 2 of the 5 underdog games, and 5 of 5 favorites-to-win games (MSU, OSU, Neb, PSU, and Ill), then it will be a very impressive week, and keep the momentum rolling from bowl season last year.
Prediction: B1G goes 11-3. Losses from Purdue, Northwestern, and Minnesota.

Jourdan Lewis does an excellent job locating the ball, and making a play on it. That is huge, because if both guys are making a play on the ball, almost all contact is incidental, and therefore no PI can be called. Definitely helps when he's going against taller receivers.
As for the other side, I think Jim is playing games with his depth chart. I'm not going to be surprised if/when we see Lyons line up at corner.

Hoping we can stay injury free this year at the LB position. Not a ton of depth here, and we need their leadership on the field.

Those special teams tho...
Poor Baxter having to work a miracle trying to fix those special teams.
Makes me nervous considering how close of a game Utah will be.
Field position will be huge, and let's hope it doesn't come down to a make/miss field goal.

Always loved Les Miles.
Good luck down in the Bayou. LSU has always been my SEC team to root for. Hope they can exceed expectations this year and take the SEC away from those Alabama schools.

Huge Rivers fan, and a fan-ish of Frank Clark. Just a typical football play. Nothing to see here. Just some football.

DE's I like to see make an impact this year:
Taco checks in at 6'6'', 285 lbs. And athletic. That is an impressive specimen.
Lawrence Marhsall checks in at 6'4'', 250 lbs. Athletic. Let's hope he sees some significant playing time this year.
It all starts in the trenches, and I love watching the DE's play. Go out and make it easy on our talented secondary! Go Blue!

I really wish Drake Harris could bulk up more. Maybe he just doesn't have the body that allows weight gain.
But looking at someone like, say, Caris LeVert, who is now 6'7'' and 205 lbs, I'm sure Drake can put on some weight as he gets older.

I picked up on the fact that he said one RB was pulling away from the pack. First time all summer we've had an indication of separation within the RB's.
Now we have to postulate as to who the leading RB is...?

Anyone have info on a Michigan bar in Honolulu, which opens at 6am for college football live? Just moved here, and my other alternative is to watch it from home. I've been asking around and I've heard there is a Buckeye bar on the island...
