Watching the GIF multiple times, I think in the back of his head, he sees Swanigan closing in to the hoop, and he decides he doesn't want to be a SC Not Top 10 story: Senior walk-on tries for free basket at end of game, Swanigan says No!".

I think Walton gets a double-double. Something like 18 points, 31 rebounds. All 31 are defensive rebounds. Because Rutgers misses all their shots.

He was older than the five I listed. I listed the fresh five, minus spike plus trey. Timmy was older than trey from what I can remember.

It looks like that dude got his fingers stuck in the net while trying to foul/block Mo from dunking. Ouch.

What really gnaws my grains watching highlights from that group of players, is how few games we got to see all 5 (Trey, Caris, Nik, GR3, Mitch) play together.
We'll always have Kansas and Syracuse (and Florida, VCU, SDSU, and an epic Championship game).

I was thinking the same thing. I would think we would want to root for teams we've played to continue winning.
I noticed he had us rooting against Marquette and VT.

The classes I'm impressed by, ignoring the obvious star-gazing at Bama and OSU, I think these teams did a great job down the stretch:
The teams I'm not impressed by:
SEC minus Bama/LSU/Georgia

Even if we go 4/4, we would still be behind Georgia by 6 points.
We need to go 4/4, + Gay, + Tufele. Then we'd be ahead of Georgia by 3 points, assuming they don't add anyone.
4/4 + Gay and we're still behind by 2 points.
In other words, the best we can possibly finish is 4th. If FSU or LSU finish strong, they could jump us.
There is no way Michigan finishes worse than 6th, or better than 4th.

We've only looked bad in two games this year; @ South Carolina and @ Illinois.
Yeah we should have won against VT, and had our chances to beat Maryland and Wisconsin, but we didn't look bad for 40 minutes in those losses. We did, however, look terrible for all 40 minutes in the two games I mentioned above.

Not to mention Marvin Clark Jr and Javon Bess decided to leave the program. Clark Jr went to St. John's and Bess went to St. Louis.
Clark probably could have helped their depth problem in the front court.

It'll be really interesting to see Ward try and guard Wagner/Wilson on the perimeter and in PnR situations. Ward doesn't seem quick enough to keep up, which could lead to some blow-by dunks from the German.
I think the key on defense is to not let Harris, Ellis, or McQuaid (not listed), get hot from 3. If we play with the same defensive intensity as we did vs IU, we should pull out a road W in EL.

I'm excited to see Chris Evans and Karan Higdon improve from last year. They were obvious game changers to the style of Smith; but can they carry the load alongside Walker and Davis?
And if it's true that we're running more of a spread (hello Evans and Higdon), and less of a RB by committee, I wonder who benefits the most?
|4 weeks 3 days ago||I'm not feeling the buzz||
I'm not feeling the buzz around this SOS compared to last year. Of course that was a high bar to set for the first year of this event, and I wonder how long we'll do this, but I wonder where the PR has been for this?
Moving to Crisler is good sign; I just don't see how they can top last year.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||It started with the bigs||
It started with the bigs dominating their matchups. Moe and DJ are awesome to watch.
Then it took Walton and MAAR being aggressive to really ice this game. If we go soft and start jacking 3's, I doubt we win like we did.
If this is the new senior Walton, then this team can beat anyone in the B1G.
Irvin was basically the 4th option on offense tonight, which is a total surprise to anyone who watches Michigan basketball.

I understand all three of your points. But, I was under the impression that both DPJ and Black are projecting to playing outside WR. Also, Hawkins looks really good on the outside too, if he stays on offense. I get that Harris and Ways may have missed their chances to start and get majority reps, but they are both 6'4" bodies that are outside receivers.
And I just really enjoy typing out our list of TE's. I get that there is no relation to TE height+roster depth, and playing time for a true freshman 6'5" WR.

"They need that 6-foot-5 receiver," Collins said. "They have a lot of shifty, slot receivers, but need a big guy."
Don't tell Nico that Michigan also signed:
DPJ at 6'2"
Crawford at 6'1"
D. Harris at 6'4"
Not to mention TE's:
But I guess he's correct; we don't have a 6'5" anywhere in the WR group. CHO CHOOOO

I saw him live in Hawaii at the Polynesian Bowl, and I came away super impressed. The dude is all muscle. On and off the field, he looks like a more muscular Jabrill Peppers. He had an excellent KO return to start the game, very nice cuts running the ball behind a poor OL, and wasn't easy to tackle.
I was maybe most impressed by his play on the sidelines. He was always high-fiving dudes, making sure everyone was having fun and on the same page. Whenever the offense was off the field, he'd work his way down the entire sideline high-fiving every single person.
Before the game, he was spending a lot of time chatting with Nico Collins.
