After speaking with President Barchi, I will be joining Governor Kean at the Rutgers' Commencement ceremony on May 18th . There was miscommunication and an honest mistake on their end. I have only love and respect for Rutgers University. They supported me from day 1. It is because of their support that I am able to graduate, as they made sure I had all the resources necessary to continue with school and work towards my degree. Let's keep the conversation focused on the graduates---the future leaders of tomorrow--on their accomplishments and hard work. I look forward to celebrating this occasion with my peers and let's hear it for the Class of 2014!
The merger of Rutgers and UMDNJ was felt by many to be a factor in Rutgers gaining admittance to the B1G. It will elevate Rutgers into a top 25 research university. With the opportunity to collaborate with the other B1G schools the benefits could be huge.
In the strange world of NJ politics, the medical school was separated from Rutgers in the 1970's. The merger is now fueling some of the firestorm surrounding Rutgers athletics and it's President.
The words cheap and flights just don't go together very often anymore. Studies have shown that the best fares usually are offered about 6 weeks out from your travel date. Of course there are a lot of variables that could have an effect such as supply and demand.
Some good stuff. One footnote to add for Rutgers is the strong possibility that the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ will be merged with Rutgers in the near future. UMDNJ was previously known as the Rutgers Medical School and seperated from RU back in the 70's due to NJ politics. Not having a medical school has hurt Rutgers in these types of rankings. The merger of the two schools would put Rutgers near the top of the list of B1G candidates IF research is considered a qualifying factor.
The NY Yankees started their own YES network to capture more of the cable TV revenue. Why split the pot with ESPN, FOX or some other network when you can keep all the rvenue with your own network? I would expect the BTN network to pursue a similar stategy as some of the existing TV contracts come up for renewal. That's also what's driving the desire to expand into new geographic areas.

Gandolfini was a Rutgers alum and supporter of the football program going so far as to make several commercials. Very sad news. He will be missed.
The Bells Must Ring is Rutgers fight song and a classic.
