"He's a hard worker, and he watched me and Tim (Hardaway Jr.) and Nik (Stauksas) put work in to become (first-round picks), and I'm just happy he's getting better," Burke said. "It's great for the program, too. It shows what type of program the University of Michigan is and the direction it continues to go in."

He was always the X factor to me, the difference between the team being very good and great.
Those inconsistent flashes of brilliance were/are coachable to more consistency. Sorry to see him go, but I'm ever more likely to start watching the NBA again.

Gotta imagine they'd be damn good ball hawks.
|16 weeks 4 days ago||77-65 good guys.||
I'm not buying that an SEC also-ran can hang with the BIG champs.
|17 weeks 1 day ago||Pretty strong statement||
Considering that Two-Hearted is often voted one of if not the best IPAs (or any beer) in America by different industry publications. Founders is fine beer and to each their own of course but no one "blows Bells out of the water".

I would have rather we beat them, but still wonderful.
|18 weeks 19 hours ago||Show-cause?||
Didn't he leave Tenn with a show-cause penalty? (or whatever the proper term is).
|18 weeks 1 day ago||I appreciate the attempt to be balanced here. BUT||
There are clearly both environmental and genetic components. I would argue that there is not "a" genetic abnormality, but rather a very large suite of genotypes that can predispose toward autism. If it were "a" single allele (gene variant) then we would ahve found it by now. When you combine a very large number of predisposing gene variants with environmental effects that themselves may vary with genotype, you get things that are very hard to nail down, like autism, adult onset diabetes, multiple sclerosis and on and on. You are right that there well may be an immune system connection (overly simplified: growing up in too sterile of environments seems to be causing us all sorts of problems).
That said, one envrionmental area that has been looked at extensively is the possible effect of vaccines. NO FLIPPING EVIDENCE AT ALL. NONE! It is not balanced to say that since it is complex and we do not know everything that everything is on the table. We have ruled out vaccines as causing autism. It is a deadly suggestion and not part of a balanced treatment.

I love your photos.
|24 weeks 4 hours ago||A good example of why I sometimes love this site.||
I would suggest a cultivar like rapeseed (B napus) for OSU. Not for the name, but for the fact that it is an allopolyploid (basically results from inbreeding the offspring of two things that have no business mating).
|24 weeks 2 days ago||What has become of this board?||
A man died. Yes, tragically. Yes by his own (alleged) actions. Still tragic. Try empathy.
Why this topic is 1) worthy of a post on a sports board and 2) worthy of mockery from supposed UM grads/fans is beyond me.
|24 weeks 4 days ago||Agreed||
How is this even a question at this point?
|28 weeks 4 days ago||True that.||
I was there. It sucked. The next year made up for it though!
|40 weeks 3 days ago||I just remind myself||
that these are 18-22 year old kids out there and that it is crazy to make my mood contingent on what they do. I was way too invested in the Carr years to where it would ruin my weekend when they played lousy. App State cured me. Now I can enjoy the wins and sort of laugh off the nonsense like yesterday. This team is going to lose at least 3 more games this season.

solid, uninspiring performance
|42 weeks 5 days ago||I kinda like this||
No way Walt gets in easy to Grey Matter, as he'd have to for the ricin to work ("sure Walt, let's have tea"), so guns-a-blazin' makes sense.
The converse is true with Jack's gang. They can match Walt's firepower so why not a ricin laden pow-pow with them?
|44 weeks 21 hours ago||Against ND||
1) win percentage race
2) asshole coaches
3) fawning media
4) we'll beat MSU anyway
|44 weeks 3 days ago||Nice avatar!||
I need better skills.
|45 weeks 3 min ago||ND may have an ace in the hole however.||
If the case makes it to the US Supreme Court on appeal they will find a bench that is 2/3 Catholic. Not sure if any of them like ND football but let's hope they lose this imaginary case on the merits well before that.
|45 weeks 2 days ago||Sorry to fact check you||
but Florida is a superior academic school to Georgia by almost any measure.
No offense to Georgia (my wife is an alum and Athens is fun and loaded with tradition) and I'd love to see the series, but academically speaking (AAU membership and rankings), Florida comes out on top.
|45 weeks 3 days ago||Flakes||
1. Devin is going to be a national star. He has poise in the pocket and turns sacks into first downs. As other have noted, the Vince Young comparisons are spot on. Maybe they should stop and he will just be Devin Gardner. More outings like this and Heisman talk will ramp up. The derp play sucked but a safety could have been 2 +7 instead of 7 right?
2. Jeremy Gallon. Wow.
3. Brady Hoke (shrugs and smiles) is WAAAYYYY more likeable than Brian Kelly (did you see the f bombs launched at his players early on?).
4. Notre Dame looked pretty damn good.
5. Fuck Notre Dame.
|45 weeks 4 days ago||Love it!||
I was at that game with my Dad on about the 20 yard line maybe 20 rows up on that corner of the field. Totally awesome surpise during a nerve-wracking game. My dad immediately yelled "There's an All-American!". Yep. He did not predict Heisman at that time.
|46 weeks 21 hours ago||Thanks for the meme propagation||
on ND BeaverBruiser!
And god I managed to completely block out that UC-B disaster. The only reason they are not on the list is due to how badly they have sucked the last 15 years or so.
|46 weeks 21 hours ago||Sort of what I meant||
, but ill-stated on my part. I was a youngun' and the early losses hurt. It got burned in during the 4 run stretch.
|46 weeks 23 hours ago||Notre Dame||
Far and away it's Notre Dame #1 for me. I cannot stand the program, their smarmy entitled players, asshole coaches, and fawning press. That feeling got seated early for me with their dominance over us when the series resumed in the late 70s. I simply had to root for other teams to stop them when we could not. I would like them to lose every game forever. I do pull for BIG teams over non-conference foes to help with conference image and the prestige of winning the conference, so no overriding hate for OSU or MSU. Within the BIG I typically want UM to be the one to beat OSU, so I do not explicitly pull against them (or little bro for that matter). Outside of the BIG I have to say USC and UCLA can lose every game and I would laugh (again bad memories against them). I have UW, Oregon and UGA connections so cannot hate there. I guess Alabama could lose every game and that would be fun. Fat chance.
|46 weeks 2 days ago||I'll have to investigate ;)||
But that playcalling never gets old. It had to be what every ND fan was thinking, minus the multiple f bombs.
|46 weeks 2 days ago||Right||
An Irish Catholic school with a butchered french name in the middle of Amish country.
|46 weeks 2 days ago||To hell with Notre Dame!||
I actually despise them more than that school down south. Losses to them suck worse for me than losses to other rivals. I ALWAYS root for ND to lose (which thankfully they do a lot) and I typically root for any BIG team against nonconference foes. The OSU program may be extremely shady and has too many players tending toward thugs, but the ND program and players are smarmy, whiny, privileged, pampered and thoroughly overrated. Here's hoping for another 38-0 rout this year. This string of nail biters has gone on too long.
|46 weeks 2 days ago||Thank you for that.||
How in the hell did you find that link?
