I agree with Kill over Wilson. I also think he'd stay at Minnesota, for loyalty, yes, but he's arguably got a better situation there. Out of the spotlight, in the easier half of the B1G. But I wouldn't go after Claeys because of the risk of moving a co-ordinator up to head coach. So in my opinion, we're looking at someone between Kill and Claeys as our next coach. I mentioned Narduzzi last year. He might hate Michigan now, but I can see him battling Dantonio every year as part of some gentlemen's thing. But how that would suck, to be co-opted by State and have our program follow their blueprint.

rushed 32 times for 183 yards. Jake Ryan made 5 tackles. If everyone on defense gets a 0 I'll eat my hat. (I won't actually eat my hat.)
|3 hours 11 min ago||Preferred resume||
There's a Power 5 conference coach with this resume (years coached, conference, wins by year)
94-98, MIFC (whatever that is) 6, 7, 7, 9, and 9 wins, 38-14 record. OK, he built something and sustained it. Time to move up a level.
99-00, MAIAA, 5 and 6 wins, just a pit stop, on to bigger things
01-07, GFC, 1, 4, 10, 10, 9, 9, 12, 55-32 record, again, built something - this time from ground zero, and built it up into a perennial playoff team.
08-10, MAC, 6, 7, 10, 23-16 record, again showing continued improvement year-over-year
11-14, B1G, 3, 6, 8, currently stands at 4-1 after kicking Michigan's ass with Manball personified (David Cobb.) His 2013 team went into Spartan Stadium and gave MSU one of their toughest tests all year, especially considering that was at State.
OK, I understand he has health issues and zero personality, but he would have been a better pick than Hoke based on resume back in '11. He's still better than Hoke as the past 3.5 years have proven. But he looks funny, so I'll withdraw my nomination. My point is, I don't care about Michigan Man-ness, or style of play, or personality. I care about winning. I care about building a program and sustaining the program. And that goofy m-f'er has shown an ability to do that at stop after stop.

At least we scored some points when Borges was here.

that I only have one upvote to give.
|20 hours 19 min ago||I'll be upvoting Bacari's World||
on site for the next week, regardless of what he posts. Congrats, man.
|20 hours 24 min ago||His post||
His post didn't link to anything else, and he made it at 1:32 AM, so I'm guessing it was just one of those things, until Carlos Spicyweiner seconded the motion.
I'd love to see one of the national news reporters mention that Carlos Spicyweiner was one of the people that organized the protest. This seems like it's perfect for John Oliver's show.

are you the owner of "a2 electric"?
|22 hours 42 min ago||My Dad||
My Dad worked for the Michigan Department of Mental Health for many years. It's a subject that hits close to home for me. My Dad died of cancer last year. Losing a father is tough enough, I can't even imagine what it must be like to lose a son. Peace be with you and your family.
|22 hours 57 min ago||"The rally, coordinated by mgoblog.com,"||
MGoBlog is doing nothing of the sort. Encouraging the rally? Yes. Coordinating? Cumong, man. I hold Seth and Brian in high regard, but I really doubt they are the masterminds behind this rally.
OK, I did a little research. MGoUser, "Bacari's World" made a board post on this at 1:32AM today. The mlive report says, "Nearly 80 comments were posted." And from there, it's gone on to ESPN. Sorry, I can't stop laughing.
"Bacari's World" is my new Internet Hero.

|1 day 33 min ago||futile gesture||
WD, if you really feel like you have to do something, I suggest you look to Animal House for inspiration:
I suggest you hold up signs saying "Fire Brandon" at the radio show, but otherwise hold a silent protest.
Either that or convert your car into a parade float that looks like a cake with the words, "EAT ME" written on the side.
|1 day 40 min ago||Frank Clark responded,||
"No, not really." What does that even mean? Yes, or no? "Not really" is not one of the options.
|1 day 42 min ago||What doesn't make sense to me||
is if he was injured and not able to play in the game, why was he going through warmp-ups?
|1 day 4 hours ago||This is what you wrote after the game||
To suggest a kid in that situation needs to look at some boobies to make him feel better is ridiculous. I wouldn't want you coaching my son because of the way you objectify women, but that's just me.

He mentions Bates in Bo's Lasting Lessons.

The longer an internet discussion about Michigan athletics occurs, the probability that Dave Brandon gets compared to Donald Sterling approaches 1. I like it.

I'd much prefer if that story began, "Multiple sources ..." but it's a start.
|1 day 22 hours ago||MGoQuestions||
I didn't see any MGoQuestions. Were you ignored? Did Brian have anything he wanted you to ask?
|1 day 23 hours ago||So sad||
to see a long-time poster of 22 days flame out like this. You will be missed. Wait, who are you again?
|1 day 23 hours ago||I'll watch||
my fear is, if this sh!t continues, Michigan games are not going to be shown on the TV every single week.
|1 day 23 hours ago||Magnuson||
any idea on how long he's out?
|2 days 40 min ago||They touched on some of these things with Nuss||
But I still haven't heard definitively why Magnuson was pulled from the lineup.
|2 days 2 hours ago||I don't know||
but I was expecting/hoping for more questions. Like, why did he start Shane in the first place? Did he think Shane gave the team the best opportunity to win the game? Why did Shane start the second half? Why did De'Veon Smith only get 1 carry in the 2nd half? Why wasn't the tackling better? How did the defense get out-leveraged? Why do we continue using an anachronistic punting scheme? Why wasn't Norfleet used? Why didn't Magnuson play? Was Peppers injured or disciplined? Did he really yell at his position coach, causing him to get benched? Will Gardner start working with the WRs? Why couldn't Bellomy find his helmet? Why are guys blowing assignments on defense - I'm referring to the defensive backs that are crashing down on the run action up the middle and leaving the waggle wide freaking open for critical third down conversions.
Sure, the Shane story is front and center today, but there's a lot more that I wanted to be asked.

That last sentence makes it sound like you played for Hoke. If so, you have insight that the rest of us don't. So write a diary (while your dwindling points still allow you to do so) and lay it out for us. If your personal anecdotes and experiences with Hoke prove that we are wrong, I'll be the first one to upvote you.
Sometimes, the game is not the most important story. Brian touched on the decision to start Morris, the punting and the defense not understanding how to defend a two-minute offense. What else was there to say about the game? Cobb gashed us for ~180 yards on 32 carries, meanwhile, our guy who ran for 6 YPC got the ball once in the second half. How much insight do you need? We're a bad team right now, and the head coach in his desperation to change course left a woefully underprepared kid in the game, long after he should have been pulled, to the point where his health was put at risk.
|2 days 17 hours ago||Former football players||
are committing suicide due to depression and constant headaches, and they are donating their brains to science so the concussion issue can be further studied. I don't hear any stories about former players committing suicide over broken bones. Bones heal. Brain damage can be a permanent, debillitating condition. That's why people are upset. Race has nothing to do with it.

pour Dr. Pepper over the kitten like the guy in the Best and Worst diary?
|2 days 21 hours ago||What's your guess||
as to why they started Morris, and then stayed with him even when it was obvious he wasn't the best option to help them win?
