Niko Porikos grew up in an NTDP billet home. Cool story.

Sometimes the story line for a game is so obvious after the fact that we wonder why we couldn't see it ahead of time. Here, we've got a 5th year senior QB playing at home against a frosh QB making a road start. Eventually, Rudock has to hit on one or more deep balls. Tomorrow is the day. Go Blue.
EDIT: on a personal note, today is my first day wearing pants in a week. I don't like it at all. Pants free is the way to be.

was flagged for an illegal formation. They had 5 men in the backfield. Fitting.

I haven't worn pants in five days due to my shingles. I could get used to this working in pajamas concept.

I read somewhere that lettuce is the worst food in terms of the environment. It's mostly water and requires a bunch of energy to be transported in refrigerated trucks and stored in refrigerated units at the store. Almonds are awful for water usage. Half of California's water usage is taken up by almond trees, or something like that.

Isn't that a Lynyrd Skynyrd album cover?

Funny, I don't remember us going into that game as 28 point favorites.

we're only lacking in experience in Harbaugh's system. We have the next 6 games to take care of that.

The rumor I heard is that he is playing Cardale to stay in the good graces of Ted Ginn, Cardales high school coach. I don't believe it but it's interesting nonetheless. Got to keep those recruiting pipelines open

Durant is saying he never talks to Smith and none of his family or friends do. Smith responded with something like, you do not want to make an enemy of me. If it becomes a war between Durant and Smith, I've got Durant in a first round TKO. No way ESPN stands behind Smith if it costs them access to Durant.

At the very least, he has a name that fits with the '97 defense.

Let's compare college career stats for the two of them.
Player A: 59.5% completion percentage, 7.1 yards per attempt, 27 TD, 15 INT, 130.6 Rating
Player B: 60.7% completion percentage, 6.9 yards per attempt, 38 TD, 23 INT, 128.8 Rating
Who is better? But wait, let's add in rushing totals, because QBs sometimes run the ball.
Player A: 85 carries, -81 yards, -1 ypc, 4 TDs
Player B: 155 carries, 448 yards, 2.9 ypc, 10 TDs
Looks like Player B has the edge.
But wait, what about punting?
Player A: 14 punts, 36.3 yard average.
Player B: 0 punts.
I give the slightest edge to Griese because of the punting. But seriously, they are basically the same except Rudock is the better runner and Griese had ever so slightly a better TD:INT ratio (1.8:1 vs. 1.65:1). And Griese had the benefit of playing in the same system for all five years.

I'm so glad this is becoming an MGoMeme, even if it's just Brian and I participating in it so far.

There's an idea. The B1G should move the M-M game to Michigan Stadium. Think of all those poor Marylanders that are going to get wet this weekend.
|1 week 1 day ago||Leinart||
Yes, he did win the Heisman. He threw for 3815 yards at 8.9 YPA with 28 TDs to 8 INTs. He completed 65.7% of his passes. You know, typical game-manager numbers.

Why do I feel like it should be called, "Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium in College Park, Maryland, brought to you by Carl's Jr."

The correct spelling is, "Rud'Dock." Don't forget the apostrophe.

but most everyone else understands that a tree has limbs which has branches etc. etc. etc.
See examples of Bill Walsh's coaching tree here:
I don't see one of those images that is limited to only his direct offshoots.
When a branch of a tree becomes significant (Bo versus Woody) then yes, I agree you start a new tree, but Bo is still part of Woody's tree.
Half of Ara Paraseghian's coaching tree is actually Bo's tree:

What drove me crazy about the Borges offense (and 1 year of Nuss) was the criminal underutilization of the running backs in the passing game. They couldn't pass block (except for Vincent Smith,) yet were expected to stay back and pick up blitzers instead of leaking out for short passes. Harbaugh is using every one of his running backs and his H-backs and his tight ends in the passing game. Rudock has thrown to something like 17 different players already this year. That's amazing.

Hoke is a branch from Carr who is a branch from Bo. A family tree doesn't just cover two generations.

It's nice to know that Rudock is a, "super cool dude." I hear he's gonna be a doctor or something like that. That's uh, that's good.

for the formatting, added pictures, and the front page bump. I can now cross that off my virtual bucket list. The last remaining MGoBlog related bucket list item is to actually meet you, Brian and Ace. One of these days...
|1 week 4 days ago||The jerseys||
The area around the torso was blue, but the shoulders were really purplish. I think it was due to the laundry, because Rudock was standing next to a walk-on (Thompson?) or someone who I didn't recognize and likely doesn't play and need to get his uniform cleaned, and the difference was stark.
