Spread offenses have more room to operate in college because of the extra space created by the difference in hash mark spacing. The NFL pushes everything to the center of the field, creating a lot of congestion that backs and receivers have to navigate. The tight hashes make the spread a difficult proposition at the pro level.
Personally, I'd love to see the NFL move the hash marks out; less congestion means more explosive plays and fewer serious injuries. Not likely to happen though.
Reading through the posts, it seems as if Sparty's recent run has gotten everyone's attention. Seeing this, I immeidately thought of this year's Dueling Columns:
The Daily piece sums up the impact outside of AA of these last three games. Additionally, it provides a substantative framework for Sparty's primary inferiority, which the State News goes out of it's way to confirm.
This kid drinks more Sparty kool-aid than his fans do. He acts as if he was predestined to be the MSU QB. As I recall from the speech that the Green contingent seems to continually gush over, "Captain Kirk" desperately wanted to be a Hawkeye, or a Wildcat, or a Boilermaker (talk about violating his own rules about being 'for' something). It was only when he was headed straight for the MAC that Dantonio came calling. Sparty was one of the last places the good "Captain" thought he'd end up, so fogive me for not buying his "no in-between" shtick.

The dental coverage in that new Sparty for Life contract had better be good, because that's going to be expensive to fix.
<br>Also... Halitosis.
I have a 2 seat section of the benches in place when the Big House was originally dedicated. Definitely one of the best presents I have ever received.
