|4 weeks 3 days ago||Michigan||
Apparently the guy we had in January was terrible. The guy we had in March was awesome.
|4 weeks 5 days ago||Simpson shows great quickness||
Simpson shows great quickness and no fear in that take against Minnesota, but the defender also looks shocked that he would even attempt a layup.
Once X is our main point guard and has been thouroughly scouted, I am nervous about his ability to be effective in the pick and roll game.
If he isn't a threat to shoot and will have difficulty finishing regularly, we may get stymied.
True Morris couldn't shoot either, but he was half a foot taller, which made passing easier.
I am hoping I am wrong, but as of now am really nervous about our efficiancy with him at the point.

Ended up being a great season: BTT title, Sweet 16 with two great wins, and Walton's season will be good memories.
And I think this game showed what we all knew. Wagner and DJ may well have bright NBA prospects, but need at least another year of seasoning.

I think Wright State should at least be challenging Maverick Morgan for team co-MVP. The defense just looks better, and that is being backed up by the stats.
|6 weeks 2 days ago||I'm not sure why we just back||
I'm not sure why we just back pedaled against him at the end. It worked out I guess, but at least make him turn once or twice to burn some time.
|6 weeks 2 days ago||Yeah, overall the bad calls||
Yeah, overall the bad calls were even I think. so I don't feel bad. Great game!!

Walton got away with a LeBron shuffle on that last tough shot in the lane. Should have been a travel.
Oh sorry, I thought this was the negbang post. Go Blue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually WR's and CB's are the pretty much the only positions where it is very relevant. They actually do run 30/40/50 yards in a straght line.
If a WR runs a forty in 4.43 and the CB runs one in 4.5, the WR might just have a bit more of a window for the QB to drop the pass into on a deep route.
Of course acceleration, agility, etc. still play a part. But the 40 is a key indicator for WR.
Not to mention situations where the WR may or may not get run down from behind by a DB.
So I think it is very important for WR.
In most other cases though, I totally agree.

So if losing does more harm than winning does good, does that make this a can't-lose game instead of a must-win?

How did two teams combine for 269 points in a 32 minute game? That is amazing. A combined 8.4 points per minute in a game with no shot clock.
|12 weeks 1 day ago||This list is why it will be a||
This list is why it will be a bad idea to let JB go. How likely are any of these guys to do better than what we are doing right now? I certainly don't see any slam dunk hires on this list.
Intriguing prospects sure, but if that coach doesn't work out then what. Unless a Donovan type coach could be had, I don't see anyone on this list as a sure fire, challenge for the Big 10 title every year type coach.
|12 weeks 1 day ago||He seemed like the only||
He seemed like the only player who was trying tonight. He looked to score. He dove for a rebound, he was getting pissed at OSU offensive rebounds. I didn't see a single other player do any of those things tonight. He somehow keep is in it until the end when no one else seemed to bother.
A terrible game for every player and coach tonight except for Walton.

Have you heard kids talk lately? I don't think fuck is just used in cases of extreme vitriol anymone. An off-hand remark caught on tape does not in any way mean that is a sincerly held belief.
It may have in this case, none of us can know what he was feeling at the time. But the fact that he said that, particularly in that setting, gave little to no insight as to his true feelings towards Michgian.

Thread jack: alternatives to Stub Hub
I went to buy 2 seats for a game. Good seats, $80 per. At check out the fees were $20 a seat! That is 25% of the price. I think that is ridiculous.
What other good options are there? As empty as Crisler has been this year, I'm guessing scalpers outside the stadium are the way to go.
|17 weeks 2 days ago||I agree with the guy who said||
I agree with the guy who said not worth it. The seats are really far away, and the TV cameras are right in the line of sight.
Terrible set up IMO.
|18 weeks 5 days ago||The wife and I watched it||
The wife and I watched it while getting our Christmas cards ready.
We don't have kids though, although I'd like to think there are lessons for them in that movie as well. Self-reliance, sticking up for yourself, appropriate places to fornicate with heavy women. You know, the basics.
|18 weeks 5 days ago||Bad Santa||
Bad Santa all the way. Followed closely by Christmas Vacation.
I'm surprised Bad Santa hasn't gotten more love here. Surprised, and a little sad.
|23 weeks 4 days ago||LOL, 'end in regulation'.||
LOL, 'end in regulation'. Like the first game won't feature 45 fouls and end 45 minutes late.

There is a lot downtown on Ashley (1 block west of Main) behind Connor O'Neils, Gratzi, Chop House, etc. It will cost ~$12 probabaly if you are there all afternoon.
Park there, have lunch at any of the restaruants downtown (I suggest Jolly Pumpkin).
Then walk about a mile to the Stadium.
I've been doing that ever since Pioneer went to $50.

10, 9, 8, and 6 should happen immediately. Alter 8 to not apply in the last 2 minutes of the game.
7 - Will always be a split second judgement call, but anything that can be done to improve consistency would be welcome
5 - Would be ideal, but so different from existing system that it will likely never happen, even with real-world example in other sports
4/3 - Great ideas, see #5. You could also drastically decrease the disparity in odds to get in the lottery. If it weren't that different from worst to #14, then maybe there wouldn't be so much tanking?
2 - Yes
1 - Delays from dudes in latex gloves cleaning up may disrupt flow of game. Unless coaches must cut off in advance, then only have that many to use?

Nevermind. Need more coffee.
|42 weeks 3 days ago||Any indication on how long the series runs?||
We play @ Washington and home against VT in 2020.
It has been suggested by several people to do a 2 on, 2 off setup. That would fit with the current schedule in 2020/21, then have ND back on in 2022/2023.
And yes, if we start at ND in 2018 that will be a MAJOR downer. I can't imagine our AD would agree to that.
|43 weeks 3 days ago||Agreed, I hope a max of ONE||
Agreed, I hope a max of ONE of Johnson/McDoom play. Preferably the one who is more likely to slide outside in year 2 or 3. Well, preferably neither, but I am going to bet that at least one will play.
|46 weeks 2 days ago||I like to consider myself a||
I like to consider myself a huge Michigan fan. I can recall many a memorable play in my 30 years of going to games. But of all the things I've catalogued in my brain, top 3rd down plays is not among them.
Did you know the specifics of these without looking them up? If so....slow clap....slow clap...

8 pretty solidly in the W column:
Bowling Green, Tulsa, Rutgers, Indiana, Northwestern, Nebraska all at home. @ PSU and @ Maryland
So they'd just need to win one of :
@ Oklahoma, @Wisco, @MSU, UM
They'll get to 9 pretty easily.
|51 weeks 3 days ago||I hope he redshirts...||
With McCray being around two more years and some other guys that may be better prepared to contribute this year, I’d really like to see him redshirt this year.
I see him as a guy who could come on strong later in his career, and if he doesn’t RS this year he will be one of those guys going into his senior year where we say ‘Man, I’d love to have him for two more years instead of one.’
There are cases when the experience gained in a true Fr year is greater the potential contributions as a RS senior. With EMB I think that is heavily skewed towards the RS Sr year contributions.
